I found the interactions between the various options confusing myself.
It would be useful to add a clarification about this to the
documentation. Also, it might be well to put the "select alternate
server" menu before the section dealing with EOD/idle actions, since it
may affect the choices that are available.

I think it would also be useful to spell out clearly in the plugin
itself that the beta version is the only current one, and that the
"stable" one is not useful (and can just be ignored) with current
versions of SBS. I was a bit leery of running beta software till I
found the relevant post on this forum.

Just FYI, updating the VBA software did indeed solve my problem with

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Listen to last.fm ??

2011-07-19 Thread Squid

This is driving me nuts. This is such a basic thing and I've googled and
looked for 2 hours and still can't find it.
How can I listen to Last.FM through my Squeezebox Classic ?

I notice that my Server has both the Scrobbler and Radio plugins
active. The scrobbling does work too, as I can verify on the Last.FM
website. But what I simply want to do is listen to Last.FM just like I
can on their website.
>From what I read so far, it definitely seems like people are doing
this, but I simply don't find Last.FM anywhere in the Squeeze menus.
I'd expect it to appear under Internet Radios, but there is no sign of
it.

Well the new version of BBCiPlayer uses the native AAC over http
streams which have a mime type of audio/aacp which for some unknown
reason exists in that Inguz file - but if the corresponding convert
file doesn't include anything to process it then it won't work.
Suggest you remove that line or make sure there is a corresponding
convert command for it.

Thanks so much! I had corrected another error and apparently it took
time for the effect to percolate through. iPad disappears sometimes
from the list of players, but when it showed up, I was successfully
able to stream music remotely.

Thanks for telling me to delete my url name. Guess my next task is to
figure out VPN on Windows 7. The instructions for setting one up seems
straightforward, but figuring out what I need to forward to whom isn't
yet obvious. But now that I can get my music remotely, I'm motivated.

I so appreciate your personal involvement in your product. This is a
wonderful service. I have bought 3 copies of iPeng so far and have
recommended it to many people. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

possible to put additional plugins in the my apps menu. In 7.6 it will
appear in the more natural location in my apps.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Triode: Spotify; helper app not running

2011-07-19 Thread Triode

No libspotify is still only available for the architectures defined
here: http://developer.spotify.com/en/libspotify/overview/

Note also that if another version becomes available then I need a
machine to build it on too. As I am already shipping 9 separate
binaries across the different architectures, I would need some
convincing to do any more!

Sometimes I want to play some songs (generally from ipeng) without it
affecting the trackstat totals. Is there a simple way for me to
temporarily block the updating of the play count?

Thanks,

OK, I'll take a look at it. Is the web interface presented by the
helper app the way to create/modify these styles? Or can you do it in a
text editor? I see a way to export but no import.

Thanks.

The "Radios/Spotify" menu item has a orange icon beside it in iPeng in
my setup, isn't this the case in your setup ?

I think the Logitech Spotify item only has a black/white icon in iPeng
since it's in the top level menu where there aren't any colored icons.

I'm not sure how it looks on the Boom screen but I suspect only the
third party plugin is available in that interface.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify -Triode Plugin - Synology DS107+

2011-07-19 Thread TheLastMan

My Synology DS107+ has an ARM processor. Has anybody succesfully used
Triode's Spotify plugin with this NAS?

How does finding music on Triode's plugin compare with finding music on
the Napster service that I currently have?

At the moment I am considering dumping Napster which is getting
increasingly flakey and frustrating to use. I am considering Spotify
and currently use the free version on a laptop and use the dsbridge
utility to play it via the Duet. I generally find this quicker and
easier than navigating Napster on the Controller or via iPeng, but am
coming up against the Spotify 10 hours a month limit and the intrusive
advertising.

I would only fork out the extra £5 a month for Spotify premium if
selecting music via the Controller or iPeng was reasonably easy.
Otherwise I will just go with Spotify "unlimited" and carry on using it
via my laptop/dsbridge.

2011-07-19 Thread Ikabob

Thanks Erland. I'm using a Touch synced with a Boom , so I guess I'm
automatically using the plugin. After re- entering thevplugin and
resetting the username and password it is working better now. I just
wish that the functionality (saving entire albums to favorites, etc.)
were better. I definitely do like the 320kps sound though. So far I
hope to keep the service but I hope the functions may be diversified
and improved.

If you are using a Classic, Duet, Transporter you are using the third
party plugin because the official plugin only supports Radio and Touch.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl

2011-07-19 Thread chris.mason

Hi Gordon,

I'm running SBS Version: 7.5.5 - r32671 @ Tue Jul 12 02:06:45 PDT 2011,
and the beta version of your plugin (20110601.120532).

I'm trying to configure it to do the following:

1. Wake the server 10 minutes before any alarms go off
2. Between 8pm and 4am, if the server has been idle for 20 minutes,
shutdown and move the attached devices to MySB.

1. This works
2. This works, but it seems to shutdown the server after 20 minutes
regardless of what is playing.

I am a little confused as to how the 'System Idle Monitor' options and
the 'End of Day' options interact. Do they affect each other at all?
What options do I need to set to achieve (2) above?

Thanks!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Help getting Lazy Search to work on Touch

2011-07-19 Thread altu

Well, I can't speak for others but since the entire point of Lazy Search
is to ease the use of the remote, for me that's the most important
thing, not the touchscreen.

I got the Touch because I wanted something which I could control from
the other corner of the kitchen not for the touchscreen interface
(which I never use anyway). Imagine cooking and then fingering the
Touch from time to time with your hands full of olive oil :D
