Uninstall should just be removing the plugin from the location you
unzip it to, rollback will be the same as before. In each case make
sure the plugin is removed before reinstalling.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Just Covers plugin

2011-10-29 Thread epoch1970

For starters, congratulations on this new plugin.
These days we haven't seen much new plugins (and little apps). So, a
big thanks.

I am still learning about the plugin so I won't comment right now.

Something of note maybe: I use a Mac as my desktop, Safari as my may
browser and have setup zeroconf (bonjour) services around, including
one for the squeezebox server.
There is a domain name for the lan which is solved by a dns server, and
the mac uses its mDNS magic to resolve .local names.
The SBS server is thus reachable at: montreux:9000,
montreux.mylan:9000, montreux.local:9000 (avahi advertises
montreux.local.:9000)

Using Safari, JustCovers shows genres but a click on one genre will not
be successful unless .local is out of the picture in the server URL. In
other words, browsing works within montreux:9000 but not within
montreux.local:9000. The browser doesn't seem to load anything, it
looks more like the URL is discarded or the link is invalid.
Using Firefox on the same machine I can browse regardless of the URL
used.

I'm too lazy and too old to debug why oh why .local messes up safari.
But maybe someone will care if the issue is not uncommon.

Using safari 5.1 on 10.6.8 - User-Agent:Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel
Mac OS X 10_6_8) AppleWebKit/534.51.22 (KHTML, like Gecko)
Version/5.1.1 Safari/534.51.22
and Firefox 6.0.2 - User-Agent:Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X
10.6; rv:6.0.2) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0.2

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Just Covers plugin

2011-10-29 Thread warpian

Hi here,

I tried to reproduce this on Safari 5.0.5 (my Mac is still on
Leopard).

My SB server runs on a FitPC reachable with these URL's:

atom:9100
atom.warpgear.local:9100
192.168.1.114:9100

I cannot reproduce the problem. My DNS names are resolved by Bind9 (DNS
server on my lan).

I dont think the URL is the problem. Try something different for me if
you will: in Safari use the standard SB Albums view and select a
sorting order (bottom left corner). Then try again in Just Covers. It
maybe a weird cookie value for sorting... just a hunch.

regards,
Tom

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Just Covers plugin

2011-10-29 Thread epoch1970

So, I've been using JustCovers a bit, I like it because it is very fast,
and straightforward.
I wonder if you'd see the interest in offering decades as a top-level
sort criterion ?
- In the web interface the Years menu is almost unusable as every
single year is listed on the top level.
- I have a movie collection and I found that a sort by decades/eras
(like pioneers [before '30], The 50's, WWII production
[1938-1946], ...) makes some sense. I suspect it might work as well
for music.

That's just a suggestion. I like the plugin a lot as it is.

New beta posted - can you try and check it now works with iPlayerExtra?

This kind of issue may also affect the Classic FM Others plugin
since it uses iPlayer's rtmp transport.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

 Hi,

I posted a few pages back regarding troubles getting Spotify running
 through my Linux-box.

Turns out my problem was the same as others have reported -
incompatibility between the newest version and my AMD XP300+ (or
 something like that) CPU.

Triode: Could be an idea to post a note on the first page - perhaps
indicating the lowest spec AMD the newest version will work with?

 Anyway, downgrading to 2.04 works.

 /Bjørn

Can you try the new beta version as it uses a new spotify library which
should work on older processors. See post 3400 for instructions.

2011-10-29 Thread bhaagensen

I had problems with 2.1.

The current 2.2 beta works fine.

(and so did the previous version 2.04 - I think it was)

CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3000+
