So Spotify is awesome with this Plugin. But I've had a recurring issue with the "What's New" section. When I get the list, everything looks fine. But no matter which album I click, it always displays the first album in the list. I find that by manually starting the MediaServer and then going to plugins and logging in each and every time to the Triode Spotify by hitting Apply, I can get my premium account to run even after long shut-downs, use of account on other devices (logging off when done).I can get consistent access to Spotify using Squeezepad. I am glad to be rid of the frustration described above. I had thought one could manage through Squeezepad alone. This experience is not unlike many I have had with the Duo/Duet system-;hours of head-banging, then a solution is worked out somehow or other. I was ripping some cds this weekend and the MIP servers were sort of working at one stage. Q7 - Sugarcube may be picking 'random tracks' if MIP isn't complete, see the Sugarcube Live View in the Squeezebox Server GUI. Q8 - The lock up when Sugarcube mixes has been discussed in the Sugarcube forums, go to Spicefly.com and login - you should have been given a username and password after you donated - it is as you say, dependent on the size of the mix, I have it set to 8. Q9 - Depends on your how tight your selection parameters are set. Again, the LiveView lets you monitor the tracks returned by MIP and what was selected and what was blocked. Q10 - I use Win XP, but a quick search brought up http://www.havetheknowhow.com/Install-the-software/Install-MusicIP.html that may help. You are intended to be able to paste these urls into the top level search box under the spotify menus. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Multi Library Playlists
Hi Erland-- Regarding issue #2, her library has 14,000 songs, so I'll look at creating some smart playlists for her. I still have a couple of questions about Custom Browse/Multi Library though. 1a. The initial reason I opened this thread is because when I choose Wife's music > Playlists, the list of playlists doesn't open. This is where the CPU spikes. I imagine what is supposed to happen is that she would see a list of playlists specific to her library. She is able to go down the next menu level for Artists to see the list of artists and Genres to see the genres and Albums to see the albums. It doesn't work for Playlists though. Any thoughts about why not? 1b. I understand that putting 14,000 songs into one playlist has potential server impacts, but I've set a limit on my playlist size at 200 in Advanced > Performance. What's the order of the logic for creating a playlist from a Multi Library. Assume that my wife presses play at the Wife's music > All songs level. Does Multi Library/Custom Browse build a 14,000 song playlist and then the server limit the list to 200? Or does Custom Browse immediately build a 200 song playlist? Based on the performance, I'm guessing it's the first, but I thought I'd ask. 2. This is really more of a Playlist Generator vs. SQL Playlist question. I created our playlists using Playlist Generator. I have them set up the way I want, but I notice that SQL Playlist allows me to assign the playlist to a group. I can't assign a playlist to a group using Playlist Generator. I tried looking at the XML to replicate what SQL Playlist was doing and customizing the XML files for Playlist Generator created playlists, but that didn't work. Is there something I can add to the Playlist Generator-created XML files to add a group? Could you add the ability to add a group in the Playlist Generator GUI in a future version? 3. One last question about customizing the playlist files. I notice that if I choose "Customize SQL" I never am able to look at the playlist GUI again for creating/modifying that specific playlist. I always have to use the XML. Is there a switch somewhere that I can use to reset it so that I customize something in the XML once and then the next time I look at the playlist in Playlist Generator (or SQL Playlist for that matter) that I'm looking at the GUI rather than the XML? -- prabbit prabbit's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11142 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91545 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Multi Library Playlists
1. I'll take a look at it, sounds like a bug 2. Also partly a bug, which I've corrected it in the just released 2.13.3695 version of Custom Browse. However, notice that unless your wifes library is just a couple of 100 songs, I'd strongly advice you to not use the "All Songs" at this menu level as it's going to add all her songs to the playlist and SBS have serious issues performance issues with large playlists and that also affects Custom Browse/Multi Library, I suspect this is what you are seeing regarding CPU usage. It's a lot better to use the SQL Playlist/Dynamic Playlist plugins to define a smart playlist that plays random songs from her library, that will create a small playlist where more tracks will be added automatically as they are played, works a lot better from a performance perspective. I plan add an option to make it possible to disable these "All Songs" menus in a future Custom Browse version to minimize the risk of selecting them accidentally. -- erland Erland Isaksson ('My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info)) (Developer of 'many plugins/applets (both free and commercial)' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/User:Erland). Has anyone else run into this? > Seems to work in my setup, I'm using 7.7.0 but I don't think anything has changed regarding this since 7.6.1. Does the issue occur immediately when you switch player or some time later ? Are you unsynchronizing the players when you change the volume ? In that case I can understand that it won't work because unsynching the players will separate their playlists by design, so it's likely going to affect also Dynamic Playlist. I can strongly recommend iPeng if you have access to an iPhone/iPad, it makes it extremely easy to either change volume of individual players or change the volume on the complete synchronization group. -- erland Erland Isaksson ('My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info)) (Developer of 'many plugins/applets (both free and commercial)' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/User:Erland). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Newb MIP/Sugarcube user needs answer to basic questions and hints
A BIG hint, the first thing I did was donating to mr parker , a benefit of that is a version that actually works in SQlite . This is not the case with the one that can be directly installed from the plugins tab (2.65 ) it does not works on server newer than 7.5 (without a custom MySQL setup) I did not observe that :) Oh well of to the find the correct version and install guidelines... somewhere -- Mnyb Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] problems Sugarcube and LMS 7.7
Mnyb;669593 Wrote: > I get the same error with trackstat installed . > > I'm trying to use Sugarcube (newb at that too ) > I believe this is something else and it's not related to TrackStat. This is caused by SugarCube using "'order_by' => \'RAND()'" in a number of places. This needs to be handled differently for SQLite and MySQL, so the proper code would instead of: Code: $diditwork = Slim::Schema->rs('Track')->search({'audio'=>1,'remote'=>0},{ 'order_by' => \'RAND()'})->first; Look something like: Code: my $randomFunc = Slim::Utils::OSDetect->getOS()->sqlHelperClass()->randomFunction(); $diditwork = Slim::Schema->rs('Track')->search({'audio'=>1,'remote'=>0},{ 'order_by' => \$randomFunc})->first; To make it work in both MySQL and SQLite. The same thing needs to be handled in a number of places in SugarCube code. The current SugarCube 2.65 release which uses RAND() will only work with MySQL database backend, which means 7.6 and later won't work unless you have manually configured it to use MySQL. Not sure if there is a newer corrected version available for donating SugarCube users. -- erland Erland Isaksson ('My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info)) (Developer of 'many plugins/applets (both free and commercial)' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/User:Erland).
