Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
IPeng for iPad there is a context meny : Hold a finger on a playable objekt = song, album, artist and similar . Then it pops up a meny with "add to end" "play now" and play , this allows for manupilating the current playlist Add to end is given , play now actually inserts the chosen thing into the next place in the list but the rest of the list continues after that. In the actual list you can mark songs for deletion, you can hold on them and move them up and down in the list to reorder them . And save them . You can use the playlist manager plugin to add songs to already existing list, but then it gets harder. This is a limitation of the server it has no mechanism for editing playlist outside of the current playlist. Here I have an enhancement req: When you are viewing an already saved list it would be cool if iPeng could delete and reorder songs here too, without me cueing up the list to a player ? -- Mnyb Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub. If I remember correctly, the files are stored in ISO-8859-1 and this is probably why you get a warning in TextWrangler because the header of the files currently incorrectly says "utf-8". So I would advice you to just editing them in the SBS web interface instead. If you edit them in TextWrangler there is a risk they will be stored the incorrect way and not treated correctly later when they are used. And before you ask, it would be better to store the files in UTF-8, it's just that I never figured out how to get this to work properly on both Windows, Linux and Mac with the SBS perl libraries used. -- erland Erland Isaksson ('My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info)) (Developer of 'many plugins/applets (both free and commercial)' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/User:Erland). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Multi Library] Recommended tagging for classical music
I'm not the expert regarding classical music here, but the page you linked to describes how it's possible to set it up using third party plugins. Unless you already know about it, it might be a good idea to also see the following page which describes how to do it without third party plugins: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Beginners_Guide_To_Classical The basic idea is that: - Without third party plugins, you need to incorporate the information you like to show in standard tags, like TITLE, ALBUM, ARTIST - With third party plugins, you can use custom tags which makes it possible to let the standard tags keep their original meaning. If the only thing you want is to display MOVEMENT on the Touch Now Playing screen, it might be worth to put this information in the TITLE tag as this is already shown on the Now Playing screen on the Touch, that way you don't need any third party plugins installed and configured at all. However, if you like more flexibility regarding browsing, the third party plugins work together as follows: - Custom Scan: Scans/reads custom tags from the music files, this is typically used to scan WORK and sometimes MOVEMENT tags as these are not scanned by standard Squeezebox Server scanner. - Custom Browse: Makes it possible to browse your library by custom tags, it requires the custom tags to be scanned by Custom Scan plugin. - Multi Library: Makes it possible to divide your library into classical music and other music to browse them separately. It requires Custom Browse to accomplish this. However, if you really want custom tags to also be displayed on the Now Playing screen on the Touch, you will also need: - Custom Clock Helper: Which makes it possible to forward custom tag based title formats to the Touch. - Custom Clock applet (installed on Tocuh itself): Which makes it possible to define a custom Now Playing screen that contains custom tags provided by Custom Clock Helper. On older players (Boom, Classic, Transporter), you need Music Information Screen plugin to customized the Now Playing screen. Finally, the link you mention talk about the "Now Playing menu", this is mostly applicable on old players (Boom, Classic, Transporter). It's possible to design a similar menu on Touch/Radio/Controller using Custom Browse and the "Browse by selected" item which can be selected when clicking +/More button or hold-touching an item on the touch screen, but that's not described in the tutorial you link to. If this is something you like to do, let me know and I'll go into more details about how to do this. -- erland Erland Isaksson ('My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info)) (Developer of 'many plugins/applets (both free and commercial)' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/User:Erland). I am sure there are good reasons for iPeng's memory loss when it is feeling lonely/serverless. -- vagskal 2 x SB3 (wired), Receiver (wired), Boom (wireless), Controller, iPeng on iPhone 4 & iPad, muso on remote computer running Win 7 64-bit | 7.6.2 (r33593) on Win XP vagskal's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20778 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Anyone want to help testing new TrackStat version ?
In my impression it takes longer to start than the previous trackstat. An wild guess: it took 1 to 2 minutes with the old trackstat and 2 to 4 minutes with the new trackstat. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Puh, it's a bit hard to say what exactly happens when the server stalls for a longer time, in this case it can depend on how long the outage was and whether the players are also disconnecting from the server. I have this issue with the random albums menu which makes the whole server hang for a minute, disconnecting all players, the outcome here can be completely random. The problem is that since iPeng doesn't get _any_ feedback for a minute or so it invalidates all other states. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote and *New: iPeng for iPad*, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezeslave not starting
Hi - today I updated my squeezeslave binaries (from squeezeslave-1.0-249-lnx26 to squeezeslave-1.1-305). This lead to squeezeslave not showing up as player when starting it with my scripts. The reason is quite simple: the new version does not like the way I was used to set the server address - fully qualified "hostname.domainname.tld". The log shows the error Error no such host: server.domainº¿ Connection to Squeezebox Server server.domainº¿ failed. Changing the server address to hostname only works fine as a workaround. -- Chris45 Chris45's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=52126 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92172 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
I use only one SBS server. Sometimes when I use a CustomBrowse menu the server stalls for a while and iPeng looses connection. I thought that the new version should reconnect to the player it was connected to before the disconnection. But I see the same behaviour as before: iPeng connects to another player (a player beginning with the letter A) not one of the players in a player group (with names beginning with letters that comes later than A in the alphabet) that iPeng was controlling before the disconnection. Or did I misunderstand the fix/feature in the new version? -- vagskal 2 x SB3 (wired), Receiver (wired), Boom (wireless), Controller, iPeng on iPhone 4 & iPad, muso on remote computer running Win 7 64-bit | 7.6.2 (r33593) on Win XP vagskal's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20778 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The following VLC command records the stream in Flac and stops after about 60 secs (in fact VLC is slow and it stop about 75 secs). Try running it in debug mode (from the Start menu) and looking for an error in the muso.log file.
