I currently don't plan to move individual features from the alpha to the official release, because most(probably all) features in the alpha version depends on the new design used in the alpha version so it will not be that easy to move an individual feature. I've tried to implement features in both versions already today if it's easy to do. But just out of interest, are there any particular features in the alpha which you would like to be moved to the official version ? I imagine that the tighter integration with LMS means you cannot move features, such as the custom scan info in the main rescan reports, into the previous design. So no, I don't think there's anything specific that could be moved. Since I moved to the alpha version I've also moved platform (to a Vortexbox appliance), so comparisons (of speed and interference with playing) between custom scan versions are not possible. I have noticed that LMS now doesn't let me play music even via a music folder when a rescan is in progress, which I find a little irritating. I used to use that facility when a custom scan was running. I'm not sure whether the old version of custom scan would let me do this (by letting the LMS scan complete earlier). [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Browse - Downloading and sharing menus
Dear All I was very excited when I saw this at Erland's Custom Browse wiki :) - http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Custom_Browse_plugin Where is the repository from where I can download previsouly created and published Custom Browse Menus? Extract of wiki here Downloading and sharing menus Custom Browse provides a way to download and share menu definitions with other users, this is used in a number of different ways: The latest version of the builtin menu type are always available for download, this means that instead of waiting for a new official release of Custom Browse you can download a new menu directly after it has been corrected by the developer. A user can choose to publish/share a menu he has made himself, after publishing this menu will be available for download for all other users When publishing/sharing a menu you have the following options You can choose to register, the advantage with this is that other users will see that you are the author for the menu so you will get some credit for it. It is also a way to make sure that no one else can modify your shared menu. You register by selecting on of the Publish links and then selecting Register Login in the Custom Browse web interface in your SqueezeCenter. You can choose to publish a menu anonymously, this way you don't need to provide any information about yourself but it also means that other persons can update and modify the shared menu. The recommendation is that you register when publishing menus but its still better that you publish a menu anonymously than not publish it at all. So far nobody has shared any menus, so the only extra menus you will find behind these download links are some menus which have made on request from some users but didn't think they were general enough to be included in the main distribution. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Itunes Update Time Problem
Hello I'm using LMS 7.7.1, Itunes Update 2.8.3, and Itunes 10.6.1.7. It seems to be working okay except the timestamp (in Itunes) for when a song is played is off by -6 hours. As a note, my local time zone (MST) is -6 hours behind GMT, and I'm wondering if that isn't a coincidence. I recently listened to a song at 1:20 in the morning. It shows up in LMS as being played at 1:20 a.m. When I look at Itunes, it shows it was played at 7:20 pm (the day before) Any suggestions would be appreciated! -Bill BillH's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43003 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94886 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
I believe it's a caching problem because the server only generates the artwork after first sending an empty one but will have to investigate. The Logi App is a web app, maybe the browser loads the header for each image before loading it from the server or local cache and uses the expiration header. pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Yes, that seems to work. Thanks! One other (slightly related) issue I'm having is that after creating a new SQL Playlist or Custom Browse menu through the web interface I find that the owner of the file (server is on Ubuntu) is 'squeezeboxserver' and that only the owner has write permissions. I tend to edit these files in a text editor (on a different Windows PC) rather than in the web interface as it is easier to see the whole file. Is there any way to tweak it so that the owner is 'nobody' or write permission is added for all? As far as I'm aware there are only two places in 'C:/Program Files' that Inguz needs to access. 1. C:/Program Files (x86)/Squeezebox/server/Plugins/Inguz/ As far as I'm aware the only file written to is: custom-convert.conf 2. C:\Program Files (x86)\Squeezebox\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread/ This folder only contains three files directly relevant to Inguz (although some of the pre-existing files in there are also used by Inguz): dsputil.dll inguzdsp.exe inguzdsp.exe.config (this one is the file that needs to be written to) There are other places that Inguz stores data but not in 'C:\Program Files' Make sure that the files/folders exist, that none of the them are locked and that read/write permissions are set. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
This sounds like your server is really busy doing something. That something is very likely one of A) converting album artwork to the sizes iPeng uses - in this case it should eventually start showing up B) scanning. Are you sure the server is not still scanning? 7.7.x can take much longer for this since it will also scan all images and movies it finds, it sometimes stalls while doing this. The Logi App is less affected because it oly uses image sizes the server generates anyway during scanning but these are too small to be useful in iPeng. pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

But the possible solutions I can see is: - Setup a default umask for the squeezeboxserver user which allows everyone to write, just note that this will affect all files created by squeezeboxserver user and not just the Custom Browse/SQL Playlist configuration files. - Setup a background cron job that modifies the permissions once a minute one the files in the Custom Browse and SQL Playlist configuration directories. - If the files are mounted via Samba and edited on a Windows PC, the best solution is probably to handle it in the samba configuration on the Linux machine. All the above solutions are more about Linux than my plugins, I just wanted to give you a few clues so you know what to search for. - erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94854 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The error message I get Preferences could not be saved to C:/Program Files, the file extensions is longer than C:/Program Files but I can't see the rest of the text on the SB3 display. Playing around with things a little more, that error message only occurs when a track is actually playing. I read somewhere Inguz can only make adjustments that affect the next track and not the current one, so maybe the error message is a red herring ? The only other thing that looks suspicious to me is that 'room correction' is set to 'none' and has no other options that can be picked - is that a problem perhaps ? I downloaded the Inguz room correction software but haven't yet recorded or loaded any curves, I also haven't any test tones available either. Have you rebooted the SB3 and stopped/started LMS server? Inguz requires that after it's been installed - it may require a couple of tries. Until you have recorded room correction curves 'Room Correction' can only be set to 'none'. If you create a curve in the LMS EQ webUI the sound should change regardless of the 'Room Setting' - it won't be effective on the current track though, only on subsequent tracks. Have you tried making extreme changes (eg add 10db in treble range subtract 10db in bass)? Do you have EQ available as a menu option on SB3? I think this is where you will (should?) find the test tone options. I have a Touch and know nothing about SB3 but when setting up Inguz got relevant error messages on the Touch screen (until I got it working properly). The error message may be relevant - is there no way of getting to the whole message? I'm fairly sure there are other users on the forum successfully running Inguz on SB3 - hopefully one of them will help out.
