Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2012-05-31 Thread ahead25

As far as i found out, Ubuntu does not have a activated firewall (or
something like that compared to windows). You can of course install a
gui like firestarter to play with configuration stuff like ip tables, to
set up some firewall rules. But that did not help me. Similar with my
router. I dont think there is a firewall problem between my computer and
the squeezebox, because they are both integrated in the lan area. and
maybe the router has a firewall integrated which is active against stuff
oudside the own network, but not within the own network. I played a lot
with different kind of rules. Nothing helped.

In my case, what helped is a magic restart of the server with this
command:

sudo service logitechmediaserver restart (logitech changed the filenames
... so when you google for squeezebox server restart ubuntu you will
originally find a slightly different command which did not work for me)

But after a server restart, my squeezebox plays again absolutely perfect
with the spotify triode plugin!!

I dont know, what the problem is, but i dont think this is a firewall
issue. Somehow it always worked when i installed it new (and therefore
had to do a restart of the server) and than did not work when i made i
reboot. This is a solution which is allright for my. I already thought i
have to quit spotify.

More likely ubuntus firewall open the port you have in the pluggins
settings page in the firewall

Ok, i tried out softsqueze on the same computer (connected to the server
on 127.0.0.1) and it worked without problems.

Is it a router problem? I use a d-link one, where you can configure all
kinds of stuff. Anybody a hint, what kind of rules i have to add?

There is a port number on the plugin settings page - the firewall for
the server machine needs to allow incoming connections to that port
which will be opened by the helper app.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2012-05-31 Thread Bobot

It seems like some time around 11pm or 12pm Eastern Time every night I
get the "-" (dash) in the upper right corner, whatever that means. Then
it goes away during the day time. I kept thinking it was updating and
fixing itself, but it seems like it is happening around that time every
night. I have it set for zip code 17050.

What i really dont understand is, it is working perfect the first
moment. No firewall issues - nothing. But then, after a reboot, it does
not work anymore. I am not an expert, but i tried already to configurate
the firewall of my ubuntu system or my router. I tried to open the port,
but that did not change anything. Dont know, if i made something wrong,
though.

Can anyone explain, which connection is probably blocked? Because i am
not 100 percent sure, which ips i have to fill in the forms to open up
the connection.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Classical.com not working

2012-05-31 Thread BrynClarke

Classical.com does not work for me despite being on 7.7.2 of LMS and 1.0
of the Classical.com plugin. Some playlists would play, others (I only
had 3 of my own) returned Classical_error_parse. I made some changes to
My. Playlists on Classical.Com, and removed and re-setup my account in
LMS - now My Playlists do not even show as a pick, and Shared Playlists
returns Classical_error_parse. This bug or similar was reported months
ago, but sits on Bugzilla unassigned. Is no-one interested in making
this work? I have cancelled my Classical.com subscription. Logitech
should not state this is sn available service. Coz it ain't - or are
others using this successfully (on 7.7.2?)
