The reason it happen more often in your library might just be because your library contains different albums than bakker_be's. If you only want to listen to the same type of music you shouldn't use SugarCube, the purpose of SugarCube is that it will not stay within the genre, it will walk away into other genres, sometimes faster and sometimes slower and there is no way to know in advance exactly where it will end up because there is a random element involved. As bakker_be said previously there could possibly be something wrong with the analysis MusicIP has done previously on some of your tracks, causing it to switch genre faster in your library, but it could also just be the composition of your library that are causing it. Re-ripping the albums and re-analyze them with MusicIP might be a solution but I'm personally not sure it's going to change anything. erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73988 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Could you please go into your git checked out directory, and type $git pull Writing objects: 100% (10/10), 970 bytes, done. Total 10 (delta 8), reused 0 (delta 0) To yourgitserver.example.org/squeezetray.git 4938eec..61b047b master <- master To get the latest version. I know an older version had some debug statements such as "self.mapping {}". I have removed a lot of these, and the plan is to put in the standard logging, and and installer / README. I removed this mapping system, from the "server Id" to "Player Name", during a code clean up. I changed the code to be more and more Model, View, Controller Pattern. The model is updated from the server using json http, using a view as a thread pool. Callbacks on changes to the model to the Controller can then trigger further things. In this case another View is triggered to display the model as the StatusBar and Tooltip, which shows details about the current track playing, and server status. What name should this little GUI have? Any suggestions ;) Owen I guess we should open a new thread when some one comes up with a good new name for the application currently known as "squeezetray" and uses wxpython as its GUI. owenhamburg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=47487 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95449 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

That's great! I've seen Metallica many times over the years and I must say their shows are still among the best. As a matter of fact, this is where I'll be next weekend: http://www.orionmusicandmore.com/ Ride the Lightning in its entirety Saturday night! :) PS. I also still have a soft spot for Metallica, just saw them live at Werchter a couple of weeks ago for the first time since Cliff's demise and I must say that Rob really was good. I thoroughly enjoyed it. He's no Cliff, but then, that's what Thin Lizzy fans also say about Phil Lynotts "replacements". As far as I know SugarCube still works in this way. In the early days the algorithm wasn't as solid as it is now, so I'd use the built-in MusicIP mixing function to generate a basic seed mix, after which SugarCube took over, mixing in a new track each time upon playing a track of the seed mix. Now I just use the random music function, set to give me 1 track, and I let Sugarcube handle it from there. It's quite often that I don't need to "shake out" a new seed track for days on end. I've never seen behaviour like what Morbeas is experiencing. The only "glitch" I have is the existence of the nearly identical tracks on several different albums (initial studio album, various artists compilation, artist compilation, live album) that sometimes get played with for instance just one song between them, sometimes even jumping back & forth, but that doesn't disturb me enough to bother CParker with it. Given that Morbeas seems to have this issue solely with Metallica-based mixes, I'd suggest that he re-rip his albums and analyse them all over again. I'd even be willing to put my files on dropbox or some other service for him to try out in his system. bakker_be's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30369 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73988 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

So, if you get a SugarCube playlist as this (which you posted recently): - Ride the Lightning by Metallica - Caught In a Mosh by Anthrax - Stop by Death Angel - Row Of Crows by Chris Poland - The Curse by King Diamond - Dancing On The Edge by Badlands - It Ain't Like That by Alice In Chains - Deserted by Blind Melon - The House That Jacks Buit by Aretha Franklin SugarCube only uses Metallica for seeding "Caught In a Mosh" by Antrax. And "Caught In a Mosh" is used for seeding "Stop", and "Stop" is using for seeding "Row of Crows" and so on ending with "The House That Jacks Buit" being seeded based on "Deserted" by Blind Melon. However, this is how it worked a long time ago when I used SugarCube myself last, this might have changed in the recent version so SugarCube uses the same seed track for multiple tracks and in that case the current behavior looks a bit strange. erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73988 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

You might also want to change the default locations for log files and cache files. Most WHS machines have small system drives, and that's the default location for these files. The problem isn't Aretha Franklin being selected in a mix where the seed song is Blind Melon though. It's Aretha Franklin appearing in a mix where Metallica is the seed. I think that's quite clear by now. And I've contacted cparker, let's see how that goes... So if the SugarCube logic just selects a random track among those returned in the mix this could maybe explain what you are seeing ? My suggestion if you want to investigate this further is still to contact cparker on his private forum so he (who knows how it's supposed to work) can help you troubleshoot it. erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73988 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Best practice using LMS with Windows Home Server 2011
I have recently installed LMS on WHS 2011 HP Proliant Microserver having moved it across from my PC. I would be interested to know what other users, using this setup, do. I have LMS running under administrator and it starts as a schedule task rather than a service. Therefore the admin user is always open on the server. What can be regarded as best practice. I also have remote web access enabled so I would like to make the server as secure as possible. I look forward to any replies. Hi Triode, This NAS is at my parents place and i'm moving to my own house next week and when i buy my own NAS i already know i'm going to buy an Intel based one. Probable a 412+ or a 1512+ or something which are both Intel based. I'm using the Airport express for now at my own home when i get that one next week as i don't have the money for the server yet. But after i tried that i'll exchange the Airport for the LMS and let you know. If it works fine, i'll just leave the Airport at my parents place and i'll take the LMS. For them it's better to use Apple stuff anyway as they're kind of bad with Technological things haha ;) Thanks for you help :) And maybe i can try it at my computer here too by the way as that's of course also Intel.
