sorry for late reply - im not getting email updates from the forum for

ok so using latest config (with conservative sample rate just in case)
everything works fine except the pause function.

its definitely something to do with the volume:
I pause
the volume is set by lms to zero
I increase the volume manually on the amp
I press play
lms sets the volume to zero
I increase the volume manually *
couple of seconds later its playing...

weirdly... a few seconds after that the volume from lms cuts back in and
adjusts the amp to that shown in lms.

That would be great. I suppose clearing the playlist is probably the

Great plug-in by the way - excellent idea and very nicely implemented.

Great - you know this the same old story. I've thinking about the

About inguz I've not used it so I don't know much about it but my

Squeeze2upnp does not decode audio files. I had made a provision for

Hi - I followed the steps here:
http://jslack.blogspot.com/2014/08/airplay.html and
https://github.com/disaster123/shairport2_plugin/blob/master/README.md
to install the ShairTunes2 plugin (I did not install the helper as it is
not needed per instructions, nor are avahi-daemon needed I mac I
believe) on my Mac mini 2009 Core 2 Duo running Yosemite, and Logitech
Media Server v7.9 (r1432891788). The Perl Version is 5.18.2 -
darwin-thread-multi-2level

I got as far as having my Apple iDevices seeing my Logitech Players
(Boom, Kitchen Radio, Touch) etc, but after clicking on them in the
Airplay it immediately went back to other output etc iPhone. When I went
to the Server Log it shows the platform is unsupported...

Is there anything I've done wrong?

Thanks in advance.

I think what you want, not being a Winamp user is a small Winamp plugin
that uses the lms command line interface to retrieve what's playing (on
a given player). Should be easy for somebody knowing Winamp. Otherwise,
if you want to use Winamp also to play sound and not just for display,
then use a plugin that makes it a upnp player and then use my plugin.

Why Winamp btw ? I'm just curious, not challenging the choice :)

yea you got it, that's what i am looking for. haha -- winamp has a
fantastic interface that looks really awesome -- so I can display artist
info, song lyrics, album art, album info, visualization in a very nice
interface that completely customizable and modular. there really isn't
anything else I've seen (except for Muso) that even comes close. Muso
is good but it's not as customizable like winamp. of course I am open
to other suggestions as well. ;) I like to use my 55 TV to display
info about what I am listening to... I also have a 55 TV on an rooftop
with amazing Chicago skyline views and it's really cool to have it up
there as well during parties and such... Right now I am using Muso.

I have a plug in that makes winamp a UPNP player and yours but of course
it's not working -- haha -- I'm pretty much a novice here so not really
sure what to do to get them working together...

using windows 8.1
Brilliant, that did it. It now works perfectly. Pause and play work
instantly.

Fantastic!

Let me know if you would like me to do any testing in particular

also... I don't suppose you know if its possible to add a convolution
engine (not necessarily via squeeze2upnp). im not completely sure how
the data flows. I was thinking something like brutefir, but not sure
where/how squeeze2upnp fits into things or whether this is possible with
upnp lms

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Creative use of SqueezePlay, SqueezeLite, SoftSqueeze or Squeezeslave??

2015-06-21 Thread dhallag

Hello and question for all you. Is there a creative way to use
SqueezePlay, Squeezelite, SoftSqueeze or SqueezeSlave on the same PC as
my Logitech Media Server, to also run Winamp so Winamp can display the
current song info??

I'm not asking to use Winamp to control Logitech Media Server or any of
the above applications, just to display current song info.

thanks much for your thoughts here... darien

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] What is the best way to get BBC Radio these days (from the UK)?

2015-06-21 Thread sjalloq

OK, an update from my side. This evening I've had a play and tried a
few things. I'm currently listening to the R1 stream via both my
Logitech Squeezeblox Classic and Squeezeplay on OS X. I've also
installed LMS 7.8.1 on an Ubuntu VM on my server.

Squeezeplay is fine.
My Squeezebox is dropping out all over the place.

I may have missed a step but I can't see the plugin to check in the
repository. I see ShairTunes2 Plugin repository but I don't see any
plugins to select. Any ideas? Thanks.

 Hi

 could you please post to
 http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...60#post820560?

But to answer your questions. Currently i've no idea. But some
 questions:
1.) Does it occur only once or every X minutes?
2.) Did you recompile with my code?
3.) Does it happen with the old code?

Hi disaster123,

I took the post from the other thread over to this part

Well the timeout in the music playing occurs every X time units. Usually
after roughly a minute.
I did recompile with your code. No compiler errors.
It also does happen with the old code.

I always was thinking it has something to do with the the LMS/Perl part,
but now it seems to me that there is a bug in the helper binary.
It seems that there is an buffer overflow...

This is hard to debug since I cannot connect the event of no sound with
the log file entry exactly... (Small time diffs between the screen
display and the sound system.)

sorry for late reply - im not getting email updates from the forum for

ok so using latest config (with conservative sample rate just in case)
everything works fine except the pause function.

its definitely something to do with the volume:
 I pause
the volume is set by lms to zero
I increase the volume manually on the amp
 I press play
lms sets the volume to zero
I increase the volume manually *
couple of seconds later its playing...

weirdly... a few seconds after that the volume from lms cuts back in and
adjusts the amp to that shown in lms.

so as this is a bit rambling
if I manually increase the volume on the amp after a pause everything
 works perfectly
if I don't then when I press play the amp stops responding and
 everything seems to lock up

 hegel h160 amplifier settings:

 http streaming option: chunked
 player handles next track: yes
lms seek on resume - to avoid manual intervention set to yes but
 hopefully fixed sometime ;-)
 directory: ?
 max size: -1
supported codecs:flc,pcm,mp3,aif,aac (works perfectly on iplayer live
 and catchup)
max sample rate: 192000 (need higher res to check but working on the
 highest i have)
flac header:normal (copied from the defaults)
 uncompressed format: raw (as recommended)
match byte order: yes (copied from defaults)
24 bits pcm: packed type 1 (copied from defaults)

This is really weird ... I can't understand the connection with volume
changes. What happens if you set the 'LMS Volume changes' to 'ignore all
changes' ? (all LMS volume commands are blocked in that case).

You are not going to like the transparent mode where all commands from
LMS are sent, even when the player if not playing. I can be disturbing
for some case where, for example, you are listening to some other
source, you start LMS or start the bridge and volume goes to whatever
LMS has set ... can be inconvenient. In your case, I would rather find a
solution to avoid volume 0 to be sent at the wrong time. But before
going there, what seems strange is that in the log I saw, there was no
command sent by LMS to set the volume to 0 (I'll re-check). How do you
stop the playback in LMS ? (pause, on/off, remove tracks) - these
different options force a different behavior of LMS. I think for pause,
volume is set to 0 but not for stop (with the 'only while playing'
 option set)

[edit]: another log of a non-working case would help as well, I could
not find exactly the case by looking at what I already have

That makes sense - I stop a track by hitting the Pause button. There's
actually no Stop button on my LMS web GUI, so Stop isn't an option.

Sorry which non-working case would you like to see a log for?

The case where you see the volume reset to 0 after you ended the
playback (hence also my question how do you end playback in LMS GUI:
pause, removing playlist, power on/off the device)
