This is a bit off-topic, but have you ever tried to play a multichannel
FLAC (24-bit, 96 kHz, 5.1 channels) using Kodi/Max2Play on the quad core
Pi? I've tried every possible remedy Google can find for me, but I
always, always, always get random dropouts.

I don't know whether to blame Kodi, the Pi or the fact that I'm running
everything into an Onkyo.

2015-08-12 Thread flysurfer

Hi mkkyah,

I created a new version of Kodi (version 15, Isengard), that can be
easily installed on the KODI-tab of the Max2Play Web Interface. Just
copy and paste the link into the update input field:
http://cdn.max2play.com/xbmc_15.0.91-1_armhf.deb

Before you can do the update of Kodi please update Max2Play to the
latest Beta version, as there are some changes needed for the installer.
If you want any PVR-Addons for this Kodi-Version, just tell me and I
will create them and share the download link.

Important: This version will not work on the Rasbperry PI or on the
ODROID XU3/XU4.

Cheers,
Stefan

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] IP control of power amp

2015-08-12 Thread dangerusty

I can share my setup which may be wildly off-base:

I have a USB Z-Wave stick with automation software called OpenHAB. The
software has a squeezebox plugin to talk to LMS to get player status and
send player commands. I have a Z-Wave switch between my amps (no IP) and
their power strip. I have a rule set up such that if any player turns on
and the amps are off, turn the amps on. I have another rule set up such
that if any player turns off and all the other players are off and the
amps are on, turn the amps off.

The USB stick is $40, the power switch is $30, and the software is free.
I use Z-Wave for much other automation, but it was worth the $30 switch
to save $6/mo in standby power that my amps were using.

EDIT. You might consider making the ignore changes setting a default

I understand you don't want to test changes remotely under vpn :-)

Still, I'm a bit reluctant to set the ignore all changes a default as
I'm afraid many will then complain that volume control does not work
(you know, nobody RTFM, including me ...).

There is no feedback from a UPnPPlayer to LMS through sq2u with regard
to volume changes. It only goes one way, LMS == sq2u == UPnPlayer, so
it cannot be a problem with that. If there was a bug in sq2u where I
would send a spurious 100% command, the LMS web interface would still
show less than 100%. So if the web UI shows 100%, it means this *is*
LMS's intention to set volume at 100%, hence I was wondering what is the
Volume control in the LMS settings (not the UPnPBridge settings) of
the corresponding Denon virtual player. A squeezelite instance has the
option to have fixed volume at 100% and that sounds to me like the most
likely hypothesis.

At some point, would you mind checking that ? It does not imply making
any changes, just seing what's the setting there

I have upgraded Max2Play to Beta-150812 and used your Isengard deb.
Installation went fine, but Kodi launch is NOT successful.

This is good news, thanks. I will check it. Although I have to search

Owersun's github). But I had installing problems with Max2Play 2.16. It
starts to download, unpacking and processing. Than it returns to
download again and stucks in a loop. Is this because of needed Max2Play
upgrade changes? I was thinking that my deb file is faulty. Do you have
a guide or tips to compile kodi for Max2play?
--I had one more tiny problem when I had my own deb file; Max2Play
accepts only http link of a file, not local ones. I have uploaded the

How do I do this? I've done an update to Max2Play via the web page but
it remains on 2.16 and the new Kodi will not install. I am using a U3.

Also, how do I set a static IP address? Every reboot my router is
assigning a new IP. Again I've tried using the 'Set fixed LAN
IP-Address' entry on the web page but that always resorts back to
127.0.0.1.

Thanks.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] IP control of power amp

2015-08-12 Thread richyboypalm

Hi,

Can anyone push me in the right direction.
I would like to power on and off my amp when I power on or off my
squeezebox touch.

The amp is IP controlled with only two command B01ON for on and B01OFF
for off.
It is on port 23 with the static IP address of 192.168.1.3

I have tried to use a few plugins but have had no luck.

TCP/23 is the standard port for the telnet protocol.
You're looking to use programs such as telnet or netcat to control
your amp. I don't really know of a plugin that allows to run a custom
command besides Server Power Control (you could use players idle
monitoring + a custom command, I think.)
In case no plugin really exists for doing this, then a simple script
running every minute or so could do the trick: with the CLI it is easy
to get a player's power status from LMS (you can telnet/netcat to LMS on
port 9090, or -better- use JSON to communicate with LMS). From there the
script could set the amp on or off to reflect player status.

 Michael
No, as long as they've added
http://srvrpowerctrl.googlecode.com/svn/beta.xml to the additional
repositories list, it should prompt or auto update depending on the
global plugins auto-update setting.

What version of the plugin are we talking about here? SrvrPowerCtrl
announces it's version upon init, e.g.:

Code:

  [15-07-07 07:30:20.5732] Plugins::SrvrPowerCtrl::Settings::new (242) Server
Power Control, version 20120716.103808, is running on LMS version 7.9.0 on
unix:Debian, user lms

At the debug logging setting, SrvrPowerCtrl is *very* chatty. But you
can always

Code:

  # grep -v 'SrvrPowerCtrl' server.log cleaned.log
