Fantastic work bpa!

Apart from the World Service, it's all working 100% for me, here in
London. The 320k listen again streams sound fantastic!! So pleased!

Really fantastic effort bpa - you're a huge asset to this community of

Yes, the Deezer Elite is FLAC -- CD Quality. And Smart Mix is pretty
much the only way I listen to music. I can start a Track on Deezer
Elite via Ickstream, and then when I select Smart Mix for this track, it
only selects tracks from Spotify or My Music Library.

That sounds like a good idea, given that quite a few problems seem to be
from difficulties in either editing or copying files like this on a

If possible, try this.

Last thing at night, switch off the radio by a long hold on the power
button unti you get the "Goodnight" and the radio powers down.

Then just switch it on in the morning.

Thanks Michael. Upgraded LMS to latest 7.9 and it all now works! I
notice that the new LMS 7.9 that I have now under "software updates" has
an option to check daily for new software (as before) but also an option
to download it automatically... I should now get updates automatically,
I guess.

What do you mean by "still" ?

Have you had this problem with previous versions of 1.4 - I can't see
any previous message about this

The chosen settings will play HLS streams which is not what this version
of the plugin is testing. This thread is about testing DASH. There is
no change to the BBCiPlayer HLS processing compared to 1.3

You have previously reported problem with BBCiPlayer 1.3 but didn't post
server logs with DEBUG enabled - if you had problems with 1.3 then the
issue could be your LAN - a common problem is LMS uPNP plugin causing
traffic storm. Try disabling the uPNP plugin

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2015-11-24 Thread pippin

So just to be clear: what you are playing on the player has been played
using Albums or something, not browsing folders, right?

iPeng requests unscaled artwork for the NowPlaying screen, I don't know
what SqueezePad does but LMS had some issues with that until a few weeks
ago when Michael fixed some things.
That said, that particular issue should have a workaround in iPeng
9.0.2, too.

In any case iPeng needs to access the unscaled artwork and unfortunately
that also means the server then adds that to it's artwork cache which
means that database can grow very large if you've got large artwork. If
it's corrupted at some point the server can hang while trying to access
it.
The issue in LMS 7.9 Michael recently fixed was that the server _first_
added the artwork to the cache and then read it from the cache before
returning it to iPeng, a process that can take long enough to time out.

That's why I also suggested to clear the artwork cache.

Most odd. The old images or urls must be being cached somewhere, but I
don't know what to suggest to clear that if deleting cache.db doesn't

Is there a great difference in how iPeng handles artwork compared to

That is a known problem (assuming a BBC error).

If you select the Non-UK version of World Service that should play OK.

You still get the same bitrate 96kbit, so its not as if you're missing

Could you please update LMS to a more recent build?
And again: does this happen even if you don't use the "browse music
folder" functionality at all (in iPeng).
Have you also tried to delete the artwork cache (artwork.db and
cache.db)?

What is probably happening is that your server hangs temporarily while
browsing. This could be e.g. Because the scanner gets launched during
music folder browsing and hangs at a file or database update. It could
also be caused by lack of access to some artwork files or a corrupt
artwork.db. There have been some updates to this in LMS this year.

If you see "AAC LC" or "AAC SBR" then you are playing HLS. If you
want to really test DASH - change setting to use DASH only. You'll
thenknwo if DASH service is available and whether you are getting
rebuffering on DASH.

That is odd assuming you are using 1.4.4 - what error is showing ? What
"Live" setting are you using ?

It's just the UK url that has some problem - the mpd is valid, but the
stream segments return 501 error. I assumed this is a temporary problem
that the BBC will eventually fix, so put the url in anyway in the
menu.opml I gave you. The nonuk url works fine (and is same bitrate), so
it may be best to use that in the UK list in the final release, if the
other one doesn't start working.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Smart Mix plugin

2015-11-24 Thread Michael Herger

I've been a happy user of these two plugins for over a year, but the
'All Access' feature stopped working a few weeks ago and I'm only
getting round to looking at it now. Using 0.4.1 of the Google Music
plugin and the latest 1.7.2 of Smart Mix (the recent upgrade has made no
difference) the 'Music Sources' shows only 'Local music files'

There's no Google Music support in SmartMix. Never has been. You should
get in touch with the Google Music plugin author, as probably he did add
support for SmartMix.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: YouTube Plugin

2015-11-24 Thread daumar

Hi all,

I played with the plugin for quite some time on my Synology and could
not get it to work for weeks.

Just yesterday I got it to work. I would like to share that with you for
those, who face similar issues

My system runs DSM 5.2-5644 Update 1 on a DS213.
The LMS library has around 35000 tracks, no videos or images and I am
using a bunch of duet players in two groups.
I am using ipeng or the web interface to control the system

ISSUE
After installing the plugin over LMS 7.7 I could search for tracks and
see them with images in the result list. When playing nothing happend on
the web interface and ipeng shows a toast message with "no stream"

SOLUTION
Philippe mentioned that the issue is with the SSL support. I am not so
much of a techie and could not use any of the telnet command lines I saw
in this thread to install libs manually nor did I find a package that I
could use for installation.

1. I completely uninstalled the LMS 7.x
2. Then I reinstalled it from the 7.9.0 repack that you can find earlier
in this thread.
3. I installed the plugin over it and maintained the API key that I had
generated earlier.
4. I opened the protocol center of the Synology. under
"Protokollempfang" (not sure how that is in english, protocol
reception?) I activated BSD with TCP and checked the SSL checkbox. I
left the port to 514 which is the default.
5. Restart of everything (incl rescan of the music library) and it
worked.

Just to point out: I did not install anything specific to SSL manually
on my machine.

cheers
Martin

Two Squeezebox radios. I have tried selecting the station with orange
squeeze on my mobile and the menu on the radio itself. In both cases in
the menu list the new images are displayed but after I select the
station the old image displays on the radio as well as in the app.

Many program available through the Extra plugin are only available in
the Flashaac/(RTMP) format - typically these are older programs and
often lower bit rates. So when using Extra plugin for normal listening
and if you listen to programs which are probably pre 2015 - keep the
BBCiPlayer setting at the "max" no of formats (i.e. include at least
FlashAAC, HLS & DASH).
