Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: ShairTunes2 plugin - Airtunes on your LMS
Installed on LMS on my Macbook Air running El Capitan. Squeezebox is visible as airplay option and can be selected. The song is showing under "now playing" but there is no sound. Pressing play won't do anything. Under iPeng there seems to be an error about connecting to the server. Seems strange that the player knows exactly what it is supposed to be playing but can't do it. I'm no coder like some of you and I will have to give up on this unless someone can give me some options to try. guiness's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17782 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103783 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Instead of having a complete CPU "virtualized" and installing a whole operating system on it from scratch, it uses the physical (real) base operating system (Linux) of your machine and overlays just the libraries, apps or drivers you need to build your "virtual machine" (container). It's very popular in server because it's faster to deploy/boot than a full VM. LMS 7.7.5 - 5xRadio, 3xBoom, 4xDuet, 1xTouch, 1 SB2. Hello Philippe 44, Thank you for this great plugin ! :cool: Yesterday I've upgraded LMS to 7.9.0 - 023.1010 on my NAS Synology DS209+ (OS: DSM4.2, Processor : PPC) I've used the binary squeeze2upnp-ppc-static to install UPNP/DLNA Bridge V0.2.7.1 I've tested the plugin on my Denon RCD N7 and my Sharp XL-HF 401 Good sound, internet radio work great, mp3 track and deezer track too. The LMS Wakeup to ! But I've 2 problems 1/ next track problem When I play an album or a playlist (local mp3 or Deezer), LMS play the first track, but don't change to the next track at the end of the first. If I change the track manualy, no problem, LMS play the second track If I do the same with my SqueezeRadio, my squeezeBoom, or my raspberry pi with Max2Play and Squezzepliug, LMS play automaticaly the second track after the first. Any idea to resolve it ? 2/ Sync problem I've tested to sync the squeezeRadio in my bathroom and the Denon RCD N7 in my room, but I've 30 ms of delay beetween the radio and the Denon I think it's a normal latence beetween LMS and DLNA, and we can't fix it Regards, Arnaud trendman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=50908 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103728 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version
Bpa, I've reactivated iPlayer and right away the new plugin seems to work great, here in France. Right now I have at hand 2 SB3s and 2 Booms, all using wifi. Wifi is *extremely* good, multiple airport express APs networked over powerline adapters (1200mbps, if you believe what's written on it) The server is a puny Geode LX800 from Pc engines running Linux 4 and an LMS built this week. I've set the transcoding options to DASH>Flash MP3>AAC (out of the box I had a timeout, so I changed to this. I don't know what I'm doing; and don't remember which libs are installed on the machine. The machine is loaded, it is probably transcoding.) The geode is known for its poor clock, but it is being helped via NTP. If you care, we can run tests, esp. If it involves listening to classical programs ;) please let me know. I assume it's a ports thing, but don't know which ones. Make sure your docker allows the plugin to open ports (usually 49152 for listening) as well as receiving UPnP/SSDP multicast messages (can't remember the exacts port numbers, they are easy to find). I've never tried to run inside a docker instance, but there should be nothing very specific. It runs fine inside VB instances LMS 7.7.5 - 5xRadio, 3xBoom, 4xDuet, 1xTouch, 1 SB2. I use this site to find the moon rise and set times. Unfortunately, that information isn't provided by the weatherunderground queries, and I haven't found another good source for this data. If weatherunderground adds this info to their API, I can simplify the process, and get rid of the additional web query, but at this time it's my only source. As you said, it doesn't "break" SDT, so I don't plan to change anything at this time - it still works from my setup. tcutting's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17402 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat restore only partially restores ratings
I just installed LMS 7.9 on a second PC and copied my music library over. The file names are identical but the path is slightly different (e:\music\ instead of i:\all\music), however the files I'm really interested in are musicbrainz tagged so I didn't think this was important. I did a fresh scan and then a trackstat restore from my latest backup file. This has partially worked. Some ratings have been restored and some haven't. Even stranger is that the playcount seems to have been restored for even the tracks that haven't had the ratings restored. If you are seeing an improvement with these streams it is a placebo effect. When connected to LMS - SB players can play internet radio streams either "direct" (i.e. stream goes from station direct to player and LMS does nothing) or "proxied" (i.e. stream goes from station to LMS which then retransmite to player). So if a SB player can play a station through with mysqueezebox.com then it can be played "direct". When players are synchronised all data goes from station to LMS and then LMS sends multiple copies to each player in sync group. The "proxied" setting is effectively sync playing but one player in sync group. The HLS, DASH and RTMP (Flash) formats need to be processed by LMS first before being sent to the player - so "proxied" setting has no effect. "proxied" setting can help with some station / home networks where the stream gets "lumpy" and if playing "directly" SB player buffer gets depleted if it does not get data in time and cannot catch up resulting in rebuffering. With "proxied" the LMS can buffer far more data than a player and so smooth out the lumpiness of the stream. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

In this case it's important because the ickStream plugin's override (which does enable it by default for lossless streams) isn't yet enabled for Deezer. Deezer Elite didn't get officially released with ickStream yet because it's currently only sold through Sonos so I guess we forgot it. Will get fixed, in the meantime the player setting is a good workaround. I tried this: Code: sub new { # my ($class, $args) = @_; # # my $client = $args->{'client'}; # # if ($args->{'url'} =~ /spotify:artist|spotify:album|spotify:user:.*:playlist/) { # return undef; # } # # $log->warn("Spotify client not supported: " . $client->model); # # $client->showBriefly({ line => [ string('PLUGIN_SPOTIFY'), string('PLUGIN_SPOTIFY_PLAYER_NOT_SUPPORTED') ] }, #{ block => 1, duration => 5 }); # # return undef; my $class = shift; my $args = shift; my $client = $args->{client}; my $song = $client->streamingSong; my $streamUrl = $song->streamUrl() || return; # my $track = $song->pluginData(); $log->info("Playing remote via spotifyd: $streamUrl"); my $song = $client->streamingSong; my $host = Slim::Utils::Network::serverAddr(); my $port = $prefs->get('httpport'); # for clients connecting on localhost always use localhost address to connect to helper if ($client->ip eq '127.0.0.1') { $host = '127.0.0.1'; } $streamUrl =~ s{^spotify://}{spotify:}; $streamUrl = "http://$host:$port/$streamUrl;; #$song->streamUrl($streamUrl); main::DEBUGLOG && $log->is_debug && $log->debug( 'Remote streaming Spotify track: ' . $streamUrl ); my $sock = $class->SUPER::new( { url => $streamUrl, song=> $song, client => $client, bitrate => 320_000, } ) || return; ${*$sock}{contentType} = 'audio/mpeg'; $log->info("returning socket for Spotify: " . $sock); return $sock; } But to no avail. If I do not use Code: use base qw(Slim::Player::Protocols::HTTP); the code is at least used. If I add the base to HTTP, the code is never used. I don't get any log output. Was there a reason to not add the ProtocolHandler new method as it is provided by all Plugins that are delivered with LMS? I have had over the years a number of PMs criticising my responses to users about not being tolerant enough of user's gaps in tech knowledge. I had thought your reply could be yet another criticism since I don't consider the term "placebo" derogatory merely a well documented phenomenon. Enough of this digression. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Perhaps I immediately understood the joke because I'm very familiar with Julf's many posts in other threads and know he thinks just the opposite from the surface meaning of the text (which is what makes it funny, at least to me). Anyhow, Julf can defend himself *Home:* VortexBox 4TB (2.3) > LMS 7.8 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* VBA 3TB (2.3) > LMS 7.8 > Touch > Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) *Office:* Win8(64) > LMS 7.9 > Squeezelite *Spares:* Touch(3), Radio(3), Boom, SB3, CONTROLLER *Controllers:* iPhone6 & iPadAir2 (iPeng8 & Squeezepad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win7(64) laptop *Files:* ripping: dbpoweramp > FLAC; post-rip: mp3tag, PerfectTunes; Streaming: Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Not sure what this comment is trying to say. A user said after changing an LMS setting he experienced an improvement in the behavioure of a plugin. Having written the plugin code I know that the setting does not change the behaviour and no improvement can have occurred. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

What are you talking about? BBC iPlayer plugin always relays data through the LMS server, so any perceived improvement turning on/off proxied playback is either imagined or an accidental coincidence with some other change eg. broadband or BBC issues. "Placebo effect" is a good shorthand for that. If you actually think something else is going on inside LMS and the plugin then you are wrong, bpa knows what he's talking about. I will not discuss the existence or otherwise of Placebo Effect in medicine here, since it is wildly off topic.
