I asked for lots of details but you have given very little and tried
things I didn't ask for. I suspect the problem is something about how
your system is setup and permissions.

If for example you are running LMS (and by implication arecord in
wavinput plugin) under one userid and the application generating audio
under another userid - it is going to get very messy with pulseaudio as
it expects virtualised audio to be generated and processed by same
userid.

So it's going to be tedious so here is the first set of questions - if
you don't understand the question say so.

1. What application is producing the audio that you want recorded ?
2. Is this application run from GUI (if so which type GNOME...) or
shell prompt ?
3. Do you really need pulseaudio for normal use ?
4. Will any of your normal required applications fail if pulseaudio is
disabled/removed ?
5. Is there a userid pulse ? what users are registered in the
pulse-access group ? Is userid pulse registered as part of the audio
group ? what userid does LMS run under and what groups does it belong
to ?
6. When no applications are running (e.g. just after boot) is
pulseaudio daemon running ? (check by running ps -aux as root/admin)
7. What produces the audio assuming an x86 PC based system is it native
analog audio (e.g. Intel HD) native digital, HDMI or additional audio
hardware such as USB DAC or additional card or something else ?
8. How is this audio device specified and designated(e.g. nane) in the
application generating the audio ?
9. What is the output of "arecord -L"
10. what is the output of "pactl list short" when no audio application
is running and when application generating audio is running
11. Do you have a problem if pulseaudio is configured as Systemwide ?
12. Is your system a multiuser system e.g. LMS runs as a service and
there are mulitple different userid who can login at desktop or over net
and play audio.

Then I don't understand. The log of squeeze2cast (the executable) is
directed to stderr, unless the -f option is set in which case it does to
a file. Any chance that stderr can be re-directed to the server.log ? I
will also investigate, but on my 7.7.x, when I disable logging in the
plugin, there is nothing nowhere. Maybe a 7.9 thing ?

Spotify mixes are working here. No problems, never ending!
What is interesting is I selected ADVANCED > SMARTMIX > untick local
sources, tick Spotify. But I set PLAYER > SMATMIX to local music files
only and SmartMix continued to provide tracks all from the local server.
Once I changed the smartmix source to local files and music services it
only gave me spotify tracks.

The problem was not skipping to Next track it was when switching from
playing a song of an album artist to playing a genre, or going from that
genre back to playing an album artist. However, I tried, this morning,
to install a Devolo to extend my wifi, and so far it's been working
almost perfect - I had problems with the two different players dropping
in and out quite frequently so that might be the problem, or at least
part of it. I'll continue to test it... Thanks for helping out, though.
And again thanks for the plugin - it's an amazing feature for the
Squeezebox eco system :)

Just finished downloading JRiver but the app knew I already had a 30 day
free trial so had to buy it this morning. Heading up to the music room
to see if it works. Have to say from using it before, it was fine but I
prefer the controller Squeezepad for LMS over JRemote for JRiver. Also
with LMS it is always running in the background. JRiver you have to
make sure the app is up and running.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [HOW TO] Squeezelite player on Windows 8 step by step

2016-01-07 Thread dbinfl

...or at least in my testing the past few days it has not
I have a habit of sorting out new stuff on VMs before i install /
configure it on my primary PC, and run Hyper-V on Windows 10 for this
purpose.. This is a very reliable process and I can't recall not being
able to make something work on a VM. BUT... I spent a couple of days
trying to get Squeezelite running as a service using NSSM and could not
get it to work.
VMs I tried:
Windows 10 64-bit
Windows 7 64-bit
Windows 8 32-bit
Things I tried:
- unblock the executable and all DLLs
- various compatibility modes for the exe
- various command options in NSSM (different than what was recommended)

In every case the service would start and go immediately to a paused
state. Turned on debug logging for Squeezlite and redirected to a file
and found that on startup the log output was:

squeezelite.exe -o 2 -n SL_Mockingbird -s 192.168.0.15 -d all=debug -f
c:\squeezelite\debug.txt
[14:19:03.943] stream_init:290 init stream

[14:19:03.943] output_init_pa:393 init output

[14:19:03.943] output_init_common:342 outputbuf size: 3528000

...and stopped there. Log output for a working interactive desktop
instance was much more complete.

Anyway, this evening I finally gave it a go on my physical W10 64-bit
machine. Installed as a service and started up fine on the first
attempt. Go figure.

The plugin is called WaveInput its for LMS on a Linux box and its by bpa
- you never said what you use to run LMS so no idea whether that will

There is a thread here in 3rd Party Software

Heh... possibly a stupid posting, missing some relevant information...

Go to Settings/Advanced/DocSet Creator, then there's a link to the feed.
Click that link from the machine where you're running Dash. it should
automatically add the feed to it, later on automatically updating the

That's what I don't understand. This should be in a separated log file
named castbridge.log, not in the server.log. And to disable it, go in
the setting page of the ChromecastBridge plugin and here, unset the
logging option. Do not use the general LMS logging options - these are
for the logging of the perl part of the plugin.

I've left it running for 2 days now, and the server log has grown to
more than 6Mb in that time...

This is the the general log setting and the setting I have for
CastBridge:

19669 19670

As you can see, no logging has been enabled (unless I'm totally
confused)

Would it be possible for you to do the following ?
1. Shutdown LMS and take a copy of library.db file in LMS Cache
directory and zip it and mail it to me
2. Mail me the server.log file or the section of the server.log file
which contains the errors regarding the files that aren't properly
restored
3. Zip and mail me the TrackStat backup file which you are trying to
restore

This will make it a bit easier for me to understand what's going on.
