[SlimDevices: Plugins] Triode spotify family is not renewing playlists
I have a lot of playlists in spotify and am adding them daily/weekly. Now I'm trying to renew the list of spotify playlists in triodes family plugin as I used to do (and back then it worked) but it keeps showing the same playlist. Even when I am removing playlists, the playlists remain in squeezebox. W10 is really a catchall - I notice on my W7 system Defender is not running so it may be Defender related. I'm find it hardder to find a pattern in the problem except it has something to do with transcoding and it seems something is preventing socketwrapper/faad from delivering data in time when streamign live. if no transcoding * All aac streams play OK If transcoding then * 128kbps 44.1kHz http/aac streams play OK * live 48kbps & 96kpbps 48kHz DASH/HLS aac - don't play * live 128kbps & 320kbps 48kHz DASH/HLS aac streams rebuffer. * "listen again" 320kbps 48kHz OK I'll try to see if there is a way to increase buffers within transcoder bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] 22tracks plugin - Play music from 22tracks.com
I may be repeating myself, but I really hate Spotify for ruining first Smart Mix, than probably 22tracks and I hear that they are interested in Soundcloud! Your plugin and 22tracks service was really nice way to explore new music. It can be more work for you, but maybe this plugin can live with Smart Mix's approach. You can take the playlists from 22tracks and get the tracks from the services we use(spotify, deezer, tidal, qobuz etc. but not spotify only...) Maybe mherger can help you with Smartmix code to use different services. mkkyah's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58652 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105232 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] 22tracks plugin - Play music from 22tracks.com
Unfortunately 22tracks have decided to change their way of working a bit. They will still be offering curated playlist, but no longer upload and stream the songs directly from their own servers. Instead they will use existing streaming services such as Spotify. You can read the official announcement on the 'blog' (https://blog.22tracks.com/22tracks-is-going-global-74986817457#.9cj1z0tse). In an 'interview (Dutch)' (http://3voor12.vpro.nl/nieuws/2016/Amsterdam-Dance-Event/22tracks-gooit-het-roer-rigoureus-om.html) one of the founders said that the reason behind this change is that they have a lot of trouble getting permission to upload music to their own servers, and stream it without any security or DRM. And whilst the marketing departments of record labels love them for offering new music to customers, the legal departments were not so pleased with 22tracks. One way around this is making use of existing streaming services such as Spotify, were all the legal hassle is already taken care of. Whilst I like Spotify as a streaming service, I do think it is a shame that services such as 22tracks are (almost) forced to work with them, creating a monopoly over time. So I guess this will be the end of this plugin. If you liked 22tracks, the best thing to do is to follow them on Spotify, and browse the playlist using the official Spotify plugin for the Squeezebox. It is too bad that this plugin has such a short lifespan. I run LMS 7.8.0 on a WHS V1 machine, 2GB RAM, 1.6GHz Atom processor. Squeezebox Duet playing 320kbps iPlayer Dash live streams, and I don't have any rebuffering problems. Transcoding to FLAC takes variable amounts of cpu up to 10%. So the rebuffering is not caused exclusively by having a slow windows server. My network to the Receiver is entirely cabled ethernet. I don't believe processing power is the issue as you would have same delays efc with the http/AAC which are transcoded in the same way using faad/socketwrapper. I'm wondering if there is something wrong in the AAC stream created by DASH code. LMS on Windows is Perl 5.14 and 32 bit so there may be some weird 32 bit vs 64 bit byte order issue somewhere. I've tried to find another 48Khz http stream but so far no luck. I have installed 7.9 with standard FAAD on my windows laptop and no problem playing a live BBC DASH 48kbpos stream on a SB receiver. The system is running Win 7 - 64 bit. AFAICT the 48kbps issues is related to transcoding and since Touch now has same symptoms it may be part of the rebuffering problem. Hi Michael, Thanks again for the Last Mix. I'm getting "not so bad" results with it (sorry, old smartmix user :) ). Although I have no big control on added tracks, it starts playing good or acceptable. But after a while (not short) it kind of forgets where we started and plays so different songs than expected. Is it changing/updating the recipe actively over added tracks? If yes, can we please fix it with first set of our playlist and assure that we stay on same mood? mkkyah's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58652 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105915 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version
I've looked at the log and compared the timing o fdata against my systen which has a SB Receiver on same LAN segment as my LMS. Comparing both systen and data timing is very similar. There is only one log entry for a packet taking longer than 800ms to get reply from BBC. AFAICT there are no issues with data from BBC. All the data from BBC is received promptly and no data is lost or re-requested. The difference between BBC streams and Radio Apardise /SomaFM are they are both lower speed. Now the bitrate speed should not make any difference as trasncodding effort would be similar but I'd like to rule it out. Can you see if choosing to use "Use lowest bitrate for DASH stream" option in BBCiPlayer setting makes any difference. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

As It was coming up I've just done the same for the 14:00 news. I started the stream at 14:00 (nearly) and played for 3 minutes. During that time it re-buffered every few seconds meaning that only about 60% of the audio was played. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version
Since you get no error message in the log from the BBCiPlayer plugin - the problem is probably due to some other interaction with system setup or some DASH UK only info that I don't see and is causing problems. There are a number of "interesting" aspects to your system, however since Radio Paradise and SomaFM play OK - it seems to be OK. The long 10sec delay when starting a stream is odd - even with large network buffer settings- stream should play within 3 secs. I'd like a log of the start of a playing a live stream. With system idle. 1. Enable logging plugin.bbciplayer.dash to INFO 2. Note time 3. Play a national BBC live stream. 4. After about 10 secs of audio playing - Stop (not pause) playing the stream (e.g long press pause or clear playlist on WebUI). 5 Copy, zip and post all the logs entried from noted start time to when stream is stopped. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

so, just listened to a whole half hour program live with no re-buffering. As soon as the 13:00 news kicked in it re-buffers every few seconds. Guess that indicates a BBC traffic problem. Can you characterise the rebuffering as it is generally not truly "random" such as : Is it better/worse/no different than v1.4.x ?* seems worse than 1.4.x on Radio 4 and about the same on Radio 6* Single player or synced players ? *un- synced* You are definitely playing DASH format ? *iplayer set to DASH only, player shows '320kbps CBR, aac'* Live or Listen Again ?
