The way the plugin work is a bit complicated (I did not build and this is not a criticism toward the authors) and it took me a bit to understand how it works. Basically the Perl part takes care of the airtunes protocol to establish and control the session, to oversimplified it is managing the RTSP part. Then, once the session is up, the binary helper is fired up and it's in charge of receiving the RTP (UDP-based) stream from the client and makes it available/understandable for LMS in HTTP trough a classical webserver. In your case what fails is that everything works fine up to starting the binary helper and then the RTP flow never seem to start. So you should be able to capture traffic between your LMS machine and Airfoil (assuming they are not both local) and then the beginning of the failed RTP session. It's a bit strange you don't see a bit of traffic between LMS and the SB, at list the GET for the UDP-transformed-to-HTTP stream. I confirm that the fix given by @mavit works well on Linux.
I should also work on Windows, though I'm not able to test it, as long
as:
- ffmpeg for Windows is installed
- ffmpeg.exe is in the path of LMS program
For the latter, I suggest you add folder path of ffmpeg installation in
global settings (on Win7 it was reachable by right clicking on "My
Computer") instead of trying to move ffmpeg.exe close to faad.exe in LMS
folders.

Hi, this is my first post in this Forum. I own a Raumfeld-Multiroom System with 3 componets. Working fine, sometimes. Normally, its much too slow, unresponsive and the Music is interrupted many times. One day, I had a defect on my Speaker, and instead of sending me a 10 Spare part, i had to return my speaker and got it repaired for nearly 100 Euro. In order to solve my problems, i had a look for some multiroom-audio-players on Raspberrys e.g. Finally, the cheapest, best and fastest Solution seemed to be the Squeezebox server. At the moment I am using a Testing-System consisting of 2 Raspi3, one with Hifiberry, using MAX2PLAY as Platform, and a VMWare virtualMachine with Squeezebox Server installed. Now i like to listen to Spotify systemwide. Things that i've tried, and my Opinion/Problems: 1) Triode Plugin: Everything is fine. Really. But the App for my Samsung Smartphone offers such a poorly UserInterface, i had to find something better. Actually, i wanted to have a Spotify-Connect-possibility. 2) Maybe you alredy knew, I also know that it is not possible to have Spotify connect without an Appkey. Thankfully to spotify, the possibility to get an appkey is removed in order of changing minds. Blind end 1. 3) i tried to install SBS on a Virtual Machine (Ubuntu 16.10) in order to get the Music from the Spotify App into Squeezebox via the WaveInputPlugin. This did cost me plenty hours, but unfortunatly no luck. 4) I read in this Forum about the Spotify Protocol Handler Plugin. So i tried every combination of SPH, official App and Triode, but didn't get it to work. Sorry for the long Text, but i didn't want to complain that it doesn't work without offering any Information about my last weeks experiments. If you could show me a Documentation about the three plugins, i would like to read about them. Maybe you somehow can help me to get my system running. btw, i experienced some problems entering my Password in the SPH-Plugin. I had to repeat 2-3 times, unless the dots remained in the Password-Field. Will it be possible to control the Playback of my Squeezebox-System out of Spotify-App? If I forgot to give any information, please ask. I have not the overview yet i could decide what's important or not. The level of debug is set in the plugin setting page and here you'll find as well the path where logs are stored (one per player instance). The server.log will also tell you probably why the connection fails (probably an encryption problem). Now I can see the squeezebox, but AIRPLAY will not connect (Connection to "squeezebo" not possible). Two things: 1. the name of the player is squeezebox and not sqeezebo - I guess that has nothing to do with the problem 2. in a communication one or two pages above you mentioned a log file of the "helper" and a menu to set the log-level. Where do I find this log-file (dir?/name?) and where (which application/web-page (SSOTS?, LMS?) is the menu to set log-levels? I'm also running LMS 7.9 on an Odroid U3 using Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS and getting the same problem.. Just now I've played some more popular tracks to see what happens...'Adele - 21, Rolling in the Deep'; 'Amy Winehouse - Back To Black, Rehab'; 'Beatles - White Album, Back in the U.S.S.R'; 'Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon, Money'. Oh - did you check on iTunes? On devices with iOS 10, do you know that airplay audio devices are only visible on the control center (the one you get by sliding up) if you slide left once? If you are running 7.9 there are serval issues with both playlistgenerator, sql playlist and dynamic playlist. The plugin tries to find a 'standard' mDNS publisher but it none is found it uses a built-in one so you should have a log just after the avahi reference saying 'using built-in helper'.
