Yes and no. AFAIK, the requirement from Apple to have this indicator has
always been there and when I forked the ShairTunes development, I added
various things, including fixing some of the issues with pause/resume
that was not working well, depending on the source (iTunes, iPhone <9,
recently AirFoil) and recent fixes required using that 12st frame
indicator. Usually when I'm developping something, I'm trying to stricly
respect the specifications, and not add the loose workaround otherwise
it's an insentive for bad implementations which ultimately hurt
everybody and destroy the standard.

That does not mean that I did not do a mistake in my own understanding,
so if you are in contact with the Thunderbite developer, could you
suggest him to have a look at the links I sent? In my experience and
what I've implemented in my AIrPlay bridge, there is always that 1st
audio/1st sync indicator but he might have a different opinion as well.

There does not seem to be a "first packet" indicator (in the audio or in
the sync) sent by turnblade and according to the RAOP description, it's
mandatory. See https://git.zx2c4.com/Airtunes2/about/ or
https://nto.github.io/AirPlay.html. This version of ShairTunes, for
proper buffering management, waits for that indicator. That's what also

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)

2017-02-09 Thread DrewSB

Hi, I had been using TuneBlade on Windows to airplay the system audio to
ShairTunes on LMS on Ubuntu. It worked great.

Recently my Ubuntu server died and I rebuilt it. Now TuneBlade to
ShairTunes does not work any more.

The TuneBlade version has not changed. The ShairTunes version is 0.60.
Some observations:

- ShairTunes does work with a real iOS device (iPad mini).
- TuneBlade says it is streaming bytes to ShairTunes. The TuneBlade
developer says that the log files don't show anything wrong.
- The play timer runs in LMS when I "connect" with TuneBlade
- No metadata appears in LMS when I connect with TuneBlade, unlike
  when I connect with iOS.

Do you have any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks

OK, so now I can't get anything from today to play on Radio 4, not DASH
by itself with either bitrate, nor even DASH > HLS > MP3 > FlashAAC. But
if I remove DASH and use HLS > MP3 > FlashAAC it works.

When the stream starts there's a brief normal display for Radio 4, then
it switches to the 0 mins. delay display. I think this is new ...

On demand - simply displays Connecting - no stream

Delay is calculated between packet time and actual time and then rounded
down - so if swlo response then 45 sec delay becomes 0 mins.

I'm glad DASH is at least working for you - I think BBC have made a

Unfortunately this does not mean you were actually playing DASH - you
could be playing the HLS or FlashAAC depending on the menu if DASH
reported a failure (anything in the log ?) . Only If DASH is the only
format in preferences can you be sure that DASH andonly DASH is being
used.

DASH is not working properly now for on demand. Force plugin to use HLS
by changing preference to "HLS > MP3 > FlashAAC". THis will probably
cause problems with Extra as it uses DASH and Flash - I have done no
testing on it.

I haven't tested "Live" but if same problem arise - change live
preferences as well - this will cause probably problems for Windows
based LMS servers.

The DASH support in the BBCIplayer plugins are not on the main LMS as
they are not released yet - they are development beta test and so you
have add the rerpository as detailed in the first post.

Something has changed in BBC - I need to look into it.

Error handling of 1.5.2 for non 200 status code such as 415 is bad and
it gets into a loop. Best to clear playlist ASAP.

It is odd because for some programs I get a couple of 415 and then it
plays OK.

Thanks for the prompt reply

LMS is running on a Netgear NAS 312 Firmware 6.6.1
LMS version is 7.9.0
RaspeberryPi3 is running Linux 8 Jessie (4.4.11-v7)
Squeezelite is v1.8.4-737
libraries libflac, libfaad2 and libmad0 are loaded and work
BBC iPlayer and iPlayer Extras were loaded via LMS client running on
IE11, version v1.3.1alpha3, extras version v1.7
Settings for the BBCiPlayer: HLS>MP3>FlashAAC>FlashMP3; Transcoding
allowed.
I also use iPeng v9.2.1 on an iPadAir
I live in the UK

I'm trying to select BBC iPlayer from the menu options (iPeng or LMS
client) Radio>BBCiPlayer
The live streams play.
The historic streams can be entered, an item selected from each day, but
nothing is heard.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: Alexa voice control (development thread)

2017-02-09 Thread meep

Many thanks for that link.

I actually ended up re-writing the auth sections in PHP and it worked
first time.

Amazon eventually got back to me and I'm working with them to figure out
why it works in PHP but not in Node-Red on the same server.
