Thanks. Just found the post mentioning the i686 instructions in Spotty.

Hmm... I was confused by you mentioning you did have a few seconds of
sound. But yes, 2.2 isn't good enough.

So I installed the test plugin to get extra data, restarted the

*It's working!* :D

Great! Can you confirm that:

- Spotty alone gave you no sound, but crashed on OSX 10.9 and older
- you installed the SpottyMacBin plugin
- now sound works?

I knew it had worked a bit in the past
The only new line in my log is

Code:

 [17-08-29 22:30:08.2841] Slim::Web::JSONRPC::requestMethod (443)
00:04:20:1f:40:88: request not dispatchable!

That's unrelated. Most likely the web UI or some other client polling
the server for player information before that player has re-connected.
This often happens when the web UI was running while LMS was re-started.

It's a problem that comes from the new iOS release and the lack of sync
bit combined with the way they handle playback start. It's causing an
issue with the chromecast plugin that I don't now yet how to solve.

Haha. 10 years is old in this world, right? The server is based on the
Intel Xeon CPU X3210 running at 2.13GHz and looking up the specs doesn't
give my untrained eye any more info. Maybe I should just try an upgrade
to the latest VB2.4 and see what happens...

Yep, I'm running VortexBox 2.2 and have for a while as my server is
based on a 32-bit chip set which stops me from going to VortexBox 2.4.
Since Spotty uses i686 instructions I may have to create a new LMS
instance on another system - as suggested in a related post to #1183 -
and run Spotty from there :(

The CPU load is less than 5% but the memory utilisation is at an average
of 91% leaving less than 100MB of available RAM which may be an issue

I'll have a look and try to reproduce. Meanwhile, if using CC devices
from iXXX is an important use case for you, I recommend trying this new
applications that I've released
https://sourceforge.net/projects/aircast-airupnp/ - their objective is
purely to be AirPlay to Chromecast/UPnP bridges. The option to go
through LMS is a bit convoluted in that case.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)

2017-08-29 Thread Verulamius

Philippe

I am having a slight problem with v0.72.8. I can play to my Radio and
Touch devices fine from my iphone (10.3.3), however I am having problems
getting the stream to play on my chromecast audio device. There appears
to be no difference in the shairtunes2 log between my Radio and
chromecase audio. Also on the LMS page on my computer it shows the
chromecast device starting and playing a flac stream on the chromecast
audio, with relevent cover art etc.

I have both settings in shairtunes2 and castbridge set to flac, and I
can play both my home flacs and the bbc iplayer DASH Flac stream fine to
my chromecast device.

It appears that the chromecast audio is getting the shairetunes2 stream,
but not outputing it to my speaker.

I have managed to get the stream to play by accident (but subsequently
repeatable). If I have a flac stream already playing on the chromecast
device and then play a stream from my iphone (without stoping the other
stream), I can get the chromecast audio to play. This suggests that
there is nothing wrong with the main flac stream itself from
shairtunes2.

Perhaps the problem arises from the chromecast audio device not
recognising that it is starting to receive a flac stream from
shairtunes2 and thus not outputing it?

Thanks for all you help on all of these bridges.

Both of these URLs provide BBCiPlayer (with DASH) and BBCiPlayerExtra.

For latest stable BBCiPlayer with DASH use this URL. It was called
"beta" because BBC used to refer to HTML5 support as "beta" (HTML5
support replaced Flash). Currently this version is V1.5.3 but it will
progress to V1.5.4 soon as it has been very stable since June.
HTTP://DOWNLOADS.SOURCEFORGE.NET/PROJECT/BPAPLUGINS/BETARELEASE-REPO.XML

For V1.5.4 which is the version with Flac and as such is experimental
(or Taster in BBC parlance) so it is "bleeding edge" version. It also
has some small additions such as program track lists

Ok, that's a different issue. And I'm seeing the same - though the track
would play. What is the test.pcm's file size? Have you tried various
tracks? If you played a playlist, would it just "run" through the whole
list, or would it take some time in between tracks?

To be sure I used the correct file I tried again, and the result was the
same. (Wasnt sure if it needed to be in the same directory tree as the
rest of the plugin or not, so tried both; in the plugin Directory I
renamed the original and pasted the special one you sent.) Here's the
output from the GDB command line, until right after the "run", if that
helps any?

I usually disable auto forum link detection to avoid the ellipsis (...)
issue - chopped http is new. I've edited the post so the link is not
treated as an URL.

There have been 43 downloads (some will be "repeats") and no complaints
so far - so I'll change tomorrow the V154 repo so that all other 1.5.4.
users will be prompted to upgrade to 1.5.4.5 and so the v154f URl can be
removed ASAP.

I see the forum software has squashed that repo URL (I think this has
been a problem here).

I've clipped off the http from the front which seems to reproduce it
more or less in full ...

downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/V154ftestrelease-repo.xml

I'm currently using
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/V154testrelease-repo.xml
as my repo and have 1.5.4.4.

What repo URL do I need to get 1.5.4.5? Do I understand from what you
say that it will be the only repo I need from now on? In other words I
can delete the one above?

And while I'm on ... how about Extras? I don't seem to have anything in
my repo list for that, and I have 2.0.0

Thanks for the update, Michael

I'm running Spotty on a VortexBox:
* OS: Fedora release 16
* Server: Dell PowerEdge 840
* CPU: 4 processors (Xeon at 2.13Ghz)
* RAM: 1GB
* LMS: 7.8.0
* Spotty: 1.3.3
* Spotty helper app (on LMS Spotty settings page):
'/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/Bin/i386-linux/spotty
(v0.6.1)'

I'll switch on the logging option and will get back hopefully with some
data

And I guess it didn't play?

What if you run

Code:

"/Users/mini/Library/Caches/Squeezebox/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/SpottyMacBin/Bin/spotty-custom"
 -n Squeezebox -c "/Users/mini/Library/Caches/Squeezebox/spotty/default"
--single-track "spotify://track:7AefWh6bVdepPfoC6Oce1N" --disable-discovery
--disable-audio-cache > test.pcm

?

Or

Code:

"/Users/mini/Library/Caches/Squeezebox/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/SpottyMacBin/Bin/spotty-custom"
 -n Squeezebox -x

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0

2017-08-29 Thread Michael Herger

I find since upgrading to Spotty that I only get a few seconds of play
followed by a few secs of buffer before it goes into this
play-buffer-play loop. The setting to buffer music didnt help either. My
Internet connection us quick enough as I can stream other content. I'm
on Spotty 1.2.1.

Anyone else having this issue as well?

We'd need a little more information about your system: OS running on the
server, RAM, CPU, LMS version. Then make sure you update to the latest
and greatest Spotty version.

You could enable info logging for player.source to get more information
in server.log.
