Hmm... ok, I must admit that this check does indeed not work as
expected: this morning all my Connect endpoints have disappeared, too.
No trace in server.log, and the processes are still running. I'll have
to review this.

I suggest you go to Settings/Information, check paths for prefs and
cache. Then shut down LMS. Remove spotty.prefs, and everything below
cache/spotty. Then restart LMS. This should get rid of everything Spotty
related and let you start over.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.9.0 - now with experimental Spotify Connect support!

2018-01-03 Thread Michael Herger

I had probably set mine to FLAC before the setting became disabled. I
think Michael is aware of this but no solution so far.

I think I figured out why those settings were disabled on some systems
yesterday. While cooking some lasagne. Sometimes the good ideas come far
away from the keyboard :-).

The underlying problem is that Spotty would use helper applications of
various names, depending on the platform/OS: spotty, spotty-custom,
spotty-muslhf etc. But the LMS settings pages would always check for
"spotty". If you were to use a system where Spotty used a binary other
than the literal "spotty", those settings would not be available.

I'll see what I can do.

Currently, it's disabled. The other player will not sync - I can enable
it but it might have some side effect and I want the main logic to work
well before. This "guest" player would not be part of the member list,
so some actions based on belonging to that list might be missed. There
are other actions based on the belonging to the list of "currently
synced players", so I really need to think about that. It might sound
like nothing, but the logic to take care of what happens when you stop,
pause, power on/off individual members, while allowing re-establisement
of "permanent" group when the Group Player stops is pretty complicated

It seems Debian has some 'non-standard python specifics'
(https://wiki.debian.org/Python), so maybe the modules have to be in
/usr/local/lib/pythonX.Y/dist-packages
Check the output of

Code:

python3 -c "import site; print(site.getsitepackages())"

(or just continue using the source package - doesn't really make any
difference wrt functionality)

This doesn't look right: vol=-54 (shouldn't be negative)
Check the volume of your player before, while and after muting (for some
reason, when testing with squeezelite, it wasn't enough to unmute after
muting, the former volume level had to be restored as well. Maybe that's
not the case with your player)

Thanks a lot, the latter tip helped! First one was also right direction
but didn't help immediately, the sys.path was having lots of paths but
none similar to your site-packages path and I struggled, so I tried the
other method and it works. Currently analyzing. On the weekend I will
have time to try it on the actual server.

I need this setup unfortunately. I changed the switch for a simple hub
but no difference. I have no reason to believe the modemrouter is not
letting multicast pass on the LAN side. There is a multicast setting
which is enabled. What I need to test now is the A P. This is a Ubiquiti
ap-ac-lr and I found 2 topics mentioning something about a multicast
problem. Had something todo with sonos equipment. But I need to create a
config file which must be uploaded to the AP and I have to dive into
this. Thanks for helping out so far.

None at all - the tracks have to be analyzed, which requires access to
the audio data.
However, I would have thought that most online services already include
a similar functionality (after all, Spotify bought Echo Nest (RIP) for
exactly this - which lead to the SmartMix plugin's demise, which was one
of the reasons for writing this application)

The built distribution is for python 3.6, not 3.5. While lmsmusly should
run with older python 3 versions, the module install paths are
different, so you'll have to move the 2 folders in the site-packages
folder to the correct path, probably from
/usr/lib64/python3.6/site-packages to
/usr/lib64/python3.5/site-packages
Check with

Code:

  [user:~] $ python3
  Python 3.6.3 (default, Dec 16 2017, 20:59:34)
  [GCC 7.2.0] on linux
  >>> import sys
  >>> print("\n".join( sys.path))

After
#!/bin/bash
add

Code:

shopt -s extglob

then you can use pattern lists like this:

Code:

TRIGGER="@(*pattern1*|*pattern2)"

Cool addon for LMS!

Allthough I do not think that it will be possible, it would be great to have
such a functionality for online services like Spotify or Deezer. Do you see any
chance for this?

You aren't the first to notice that the file types for Spotty are
disabled. My Spotty files stream as FLAC even so. Are yours definitely

2018-01-03 Thread domars

Dear community,

I have a problem with transcoding. I use:

- LMS 7.9.1
- Raspberry Pi 3
- Picoreplayer 3.20
- Spotty 1.99.3
-

I want to transcode the PCM stream that comes from Spotty to FLAC (i.e.
I want to reduce the load on wireless network). In prior versions it
worked perfectly but now I can't set up transcoding in "Server settings
-> Advanced -> File Types". It is not possible to enable FLAC (see
picture).

24291

Could you please help me? Thanks in advance and best wishes,
Domars

Ok,
localhost and other names did not work, but server ip worked.
Now debug is working and I could chose correct TRIGGER name to do the
job.
-- Mute is working when the TRIGGER matcheskipping
-- I read unmute command when TRIGGER changes, but *LMS stays on mute*.
-- This is not important for real use purpose, but skipping on the test
track causes unmute.

I think my LMS name issues can be related to Max2Play installation, but
using ip is easier, no problem.

Can we use wildcards like *,? and can we use a TRIGGER list seperated
with comas?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] GRUVI - .generate.random.URLs_for.viewing.images.

2018-01-03 Thread Vegz78

Happy New Year 2018 and happy to announce a PHP-script I've been working
on during Christmas, GRUVI (.generate.random.URLs_for.viewing.images.)!

The script randomly picks a predetermined number of pictures from a
chosen web-server location, resizes them to fit the SB Touch and Radio
displays, with or without captions. It renews the selection after som
predefined time interval, and reshuffles the order every time the script
is called from the players.

Notwithstanding som other great SB image viewer utilities out there,
like Picture Gallery, Image Browser, iPeng etc., the script solves some
yet unmet needs I've had for a long time, like random selections of
images, functioning as an automatic screen saver and photo frame,
off-loading my main media server, NAS and players(runs well in the
background on a small RPi3), captioning and configurability, working
with the built-in Image Viewer app on the players with total
independence from the rest of the LMS system and its plugins and such.

Prerequisites:
-Some web server:
-with access to the photos you want to show
-with PHP installed
-with ImageMagick installed
-which probably has to run on Linux because of my shell calls
-Some patience and and time to tinker a little bit... ;-)

Installation:
-Copy the contents of the zip-file to the hosted folders on the web
server
-Set your wanted global parameters in the main gruvi.php script file
-Set the required execution, file and application path accesses
-Set up your players like this and choose to run the Image Viewer app as
a screen saver if you like:
24289

Then start GRUVI'n!:
24288

Enjoy(hopefully)! :)
