Just wanted to say thanks to all the guys working on this! You're awesome. Maybe one day I will be able to contribute something. I have a lot of Squeezeboxes in my and my parents house and every time I happen to have a new idea what might be a nice thing to do I find out somebody wrote a plugin for it already years ago. :) bvrulez's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92723 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Here is the server.log. I cleared the playlist and add the whole original cd album and purposely started playing from track2. It took about half an hour to buffer before it could start playing. When it started, it emitted some pops and disk spun erratically. +---+ |Filename: error.log.zip| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=25119| +---+ Lateboomer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68146 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin
It looks the delay is at the LMS end. so some logging is needed to find the problem. 1. Clear LMS log file by stopping LMS and deleting server.log 2. Start LMS 3. Make sure all players are stopped and clear all playlist on each player. 4. In WebUI Setting/Advanced/logging set player.source to INFO and plugin.cdplayer to DEBUG and then click Apply. 5. Play a track - note how long before audio starts. 6. Once audio has started - stop player. 7. In WebUI Information get zip archive of Server log file and attach to a post. To get rid of logging setting - restart LMS. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Buffering taking 30mins is wrong. When I use CDplayer on a PC - playing starts within seconds. There have a number of users of CDplayer on a Pi and none have complained about delay. If there was not enough power - CD would not read. You still have answered questiuons abotu squeezelite setup and are you using a DAC. When you say Filetypes settings are as installed - does this mean you cannot set CDplayer for Flac setting to "cdda2wav/flac" - if not then you have a faulty LMS installation. With the test command I gave above - how long does it take to rip a track of abotu 3 mins long Code: icedax device=/dev/cdrom --output-format wav -gui output-endianess=little -quiet -track=5 - >trackrip.wav bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin
The LMS is running on rpi 2B and Squeezelite is running on Beaglebone black. Both of them are connected by ethernet to a router switch. The rpi is also attached with a 2.5" HDD with music file storage. I can play through with music files from HDD without any hiccup and also internet radios and it is very smooth. So I don't think the noise is related to ethernet connection. I tried to use y-cable and connected with external wall wart supply to give additional power to the DVD rom but the noise still occurring. The only thing I can figure out is may be the rpi 2 B is under spec to run CDplayer smoothly. The buffering really takes a long time to execute (more than half an hour) before music can play. So I am thinking of getting another board Odroid-c2 to test, since it has 2GB ram and quad cores. With regard to the settings on LMS, I didn't do anything, I just enable CDplayer and played as it is.
