Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.4.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-10-02 Thread GrosMatou

Hello,

I recently installed the spotty plugin (v2.4.9 - LMS 7.9.1-1504317335 on
a Synology NAS), and I want to start by congratulating you for the work
done. A big step forward compared to my previous tests of spotify
plugins (I went to deezer for years).
However, I encounter a problem with spotty, with the function connect
(but maybe it's a limitation by spotify). After starting the server,
everything is going very well, I can use connect from my PC, my phone
... but after a long time without use (the next day for example), can
not find my squeezebox in the available devices. I then have to restart
the LMS server and everything works again. I also had a disconnection
problem 2 or 3 times during a title change, which forced me to restart
LMS to use connect again.
Any ideas?

Thank you in advance !

Hmm... did you build this yourself? What version of the spotty helper is
this?

Sounds like a permissions issue. I might have asked before: what OS are
you running your LMS on? How did you install?

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the reply! Enabling the UPnP/DLNA Media Interface did the
trick!

I'm wondering- is there a similar thing for iTunes? Would love to be
able to access LMS via iTunes.

Do a hard press ("Force Touch") on the watch to change the player or use
the "power" functionality.

Working on it. Will take a few weeks, though, due to some other
priorities.

That error message is sort of generic. I show it when
squeezelite-win.exe aborts immediately after starting up. The software
is making an assumption that it must be due to a parameter error. I
have spent some time actually trying to get the precise error condition
(which switch) from squeezelite-win.exe, but so far I have not
succeeded. What should work is creating a pipe when I create the
squeezelite-win.exe process and capture its output. So I have tried
this, but I am only getting all the output except the error message.
Once I figure this out, SLX should be able to give a clue as to what it
thinks is wrong.

In the meantime, you could use Default in SLX and set your
preferred/default output device at the O/S level.

Hmmm... I do not expect that behavior. My playlists don't get flushed
on pause/resume and I don't know (yet) why that is happening with you.
I'll need to do some more experimenting with different kinds of
playlists.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Success: MusicIP and Spicefly Sugarcube running on Raspberry Pi

2018-10-02 Thread frankd

Some good news for those who want to use MusicIP with the Raspberry
stretch:
It seems possible to have small hacks of raspian to run the I386 Linux
version of MusicIP.
I would be greatful if somebody could test this approach before I will
update the tutorial (I have not tested the MusicIP installation under
Stretch extensively, as I still need to migrate from Jessie), feedback
is appreciated.
Quick tutorial for the first steps which are different:

1. You have to edit your /etc/apt/sources.list file adding [arch=armhf]
behind each occurence of deb.
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
In my case the only relevant line should look like: deb [arch=armhf]
http://mirrordirector.raspbian.org/raspbian/ stretch main con$
2. download latest version of Libc6 library for i386 under
https://packages.debian.org/stretch/i386/libc6/download and copy to home
directory of rapsberry
Current version is libc6_2.24-11+deb9u3_i386.deb, you can get it via
the raspberry command-line:
cd ~
wget
http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/g/glibc/libc6_2.24-11+deb9u3_i386.deb
3. sudo dpkg -i --ignore-depends=libgcc1:i386
./libc6_2.24-11+deb9u3_i386.deb
4. To prevent any inconsistencies in the dependency tree we need to edit
the dependency database:
open /var/lib/dpg/status with an editor, search for the Package:
"libc6" with the architecture "i386" (not the armh version!!!) and
remove "libgcc1" from the line which starts with "Depends:"
5. Unpack MusicMixer in home directory
gzip -dc MusicMixer_x86_1.8.tgz | tar xf -
6. Start MusicIP server:
/home/pi/MusicIP/MusicMagicMixer/MusicMagicServer start
It should be accessible via http://localhost:10002/server

>From here on, you can follow the old tutorial
Hope somebody can confirm that this works.
I think it should be bullet-proof versus updates, as we do not have any
sources for i386 programs and we removed the inconsistency for the
dependency tree...
Feedback welcome
