Been absent for a while and decided tonight to check the forums to see
what's up with my favorite plugin's and saw this post-

I've also been meaning to request this feature, since I have multiple
BandCamp accounts I use to purchase music.
For me, this is due to their limitations of organizing music (it's just
one big bucket) and the shear quantity of music I have purchased from
BC.
This really is a pain when trying to scan for a title using their phone
app since there is no 'A','B','C' grouping like in some LMS players.

Also, your suggestion regarding 'fans/followers' only sorta works - not
all artists/albums allow you to play all the tracks if you have not
purchased the album.

I realize it's probably a low priority, but please (re)consider adding
the option of more than 1 BC account.
If it must be limited, perhaps increase it to maybe 3-5?

Computer geek/tech hoarder(!), and DAMN I love the LMS/Squeeze

Yes, I've noticed that with albumcovers as well (depending on the
source).
While testing, I noticed another quirk. I sometimes get results like
these:

Code:

[19-06-18 02:29:20.6027]
Plugins::LMSnewGUI::Plugin::getMAIpluginInfoAlbumCovers (2236)
getMAIpluginInfoAlbumCovers: search for [Robot World - An Original Film Score]

getMAIpluginInfoAlbumCovers: result= {'count' => 1,'item_loop' => [{'url' =>
'','size' => 'extralarge','credits' => 'Last.fm'}],'offset' => 0}

While I currently filter these out in my plugin, it would be more
elegant if MAI would simple exclude results without a valid url.

Thanks for writing MAI in the first place - in combination with discogs
discographies, it now covers all metadata I'm interested in...

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.8.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2019-06-18 Thread pmendiuk

I have been experiencing intermittent Spotify audio with synchronized
players for quite a while. Today it has become very intermittent with a
single player. If I switch to a non LMS spotify connect player there is
no intermittent playback with the same playlist. I have also noticed
that the track position in LMS will repeatedly jump back 4 or 5 seconds
when the audio output stops. The track position will start incrementing
forward again when the audio returns. I have tried disabling Ogg Vorbis
for Spotty file types. I am running LMS 7.9.2 x86_64-linux on a
Synology NAS918+ and Spotty helper ARMv8/aarch64 v0.20.0. The player is
a Logitech Squeezebox Receiver FW 77. Both devices are wired ethernet
connections.

I have been experiencing intermittent audio with multiple synchronized

seemed to be better but today with just one player it has become
extremely intermittent. I've also noticed that the track position will

incrementing forward when the the audio returns. The track position in
the Spotify app does not jump back and LMS and the Spotify app go out of
sync. The track position in the Spotify app will then be at the end of
the track. If I skip to the next track it will start playing the next
track until it becomes intermittent again. I have tried disabling Ogg
Vorbis for Spotty with no effect. LMS 7.9.2 is running on a Synology
NAS918+ (x86) Spotty Helper aarch64 v0.20.0 and the player is a Logitech

connections. If I change to a non LMS spotify connect device the
playlist streams without issue.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2019-06-18 Thread pippin

If you have many players, the Synology might be too slow to sync them
all together, especially since iPeng has a somewhat different timing
than other Squeezebox devices (it uses a larger buffer and also the iOS
timing is different).
It’s the server‘s responsibility to calculate all the stream offsets and
manage the timing so it’s a bit of work.
One other important thing: I would make sure the Synology is not on WiFi
but wired to a router, that helps a lot with performance

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2019-06-18 Thread Diana

Hi pippin

I've just installed pinkdot's LMSUpdate 7.9.2 package for DSM6 (armV8)
on a Synology DS418 NAS. It appears to be working as expected, apart
from one issue, as follows:

I have a couple of SB2 players, and I also use iPeng (9.6.1) on an iPad
as a player. I have been using these players for a long time with a
Debian installation of LMS on an old laptop, and they have stayed
reliably synced together. But today, while testing LMS 7.9.2 on the
Synology NAS, I noticed that if I did a 'jump to next track' with the
controller on an SB2, the stream stopped, with a message on the SB2
screen indicating it was waiting for the iPad/iPeng to sync. If I turned
off iPeng on the iPad, the stream restarted immediately on the SB2.

Do you have any thoughts about what is going on here, and any
suggestions how I might fix the issue?

TIA for your help with this.

I didn't notice any other issues with the modified XMLbrowser.pm. I
can't continue using it after updating LMS since my laptop has been put
out of action by the Windows 10 1903 update (no longer boots) so I can't
easily copy the file over.

Radio Paradise might just be the first issue you're hitting. But please
keep this in mind when you fail to download some plugin you want, fail
to connect to the radio station you want etc. Lack of recent OpenSSL

And yet LMS runs perfectly. I use the Sparky only as a server, and it
produces excellent sound - much better than the Squeezebox Classic that
it replaced. I cannot really justify the time and effort that would be
required to upgrade Ubuntu and then figure out how to reinstall M2P (I
have found a script online, but if it didn't work I'd be lost) simply to
get Paradise Radio running, when the streams seem to have many problems
that all my work wouldn't eliminate.

Hahaha, as a fellow programmer, I love it ;)

Yes, this is Android. I'll add this as an Issue if you like, just wanted
to check this didn't have an obvious solution.

How often does it check the connection? Every 10 minutes or so would be
better than nothing.

That's what it's currently set to.

Why not give it a try, but make sure you first have a working backup, or
use a spare sd card.

I have a couple of suggestions (please remember that I know nothing much
:p)

To find your installed ssl, run

Code:

openssl version

This is my rpi3b

Code:

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ openssl version
  OpenSSL 1.1.0j 20 Nov 2018
  pi@raspberrypi:~ $

and this is from LMS on the same pi

Have you ever run

Code:

sudo apt-get -y install libio-socket-ssl-perl

on the Sparky? this is needed for LMS

Again you can check with

Code:

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo apt-get -y install libio-socket-ssl-perl
  Reading package lists... Done
  Building dependency tree
  Reading state information... Done
libio-socket-ssl-perl is already the newest version (2.044-1).
  libio-socket-ssl-perl set to manually installed.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
  pi@raspberrypi:~ $

So do I need to leave "Monitor connection" checked?

I'd prefer if you hadn't to. But it's there for a reason. It's disabled
by default as it could become pretty heavy on the Spotify backend (well,
at least in the range I'm allowed to use it for) if everybody used it.

Seems as though the standard daemon checking does not detect the
connection issue but the "monitor connection" process does.

That's correct: standard checking only checks whether the process is
still alive. But there obviously are systems where the daemons might be
running, but no longer seen by Spotify. That's what the "monitor
connection" check would verify.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.8.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2019-06-18 Thread slartibartfast

This morning all my players have disappeared from Spotify Connect. I set
Spotty logging to info and I can see that the daemons are being checked
every minute but no action is taken. How do I tell if the daemons are
actually running? Does the plugin think they are running so does not
restart them. I then checked the "Monitor connection" box in settings
and the log contained lines indicating that daemons were running but not
connected. Daemons were then restarted and now players are visible.
Seems as though the standard daemon checking does not detect the
connection issue but the "monitor connection" process does.
