Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] PiCorePlayer - retry Network Mount, or delay startup somehow?

2020-04-18 Thread Greg Erskine

My gut feeling is Network wait would only work if the NAS was also the
DHCP sever, which if it is slow to boot is not a good idea.

I think we would need extra code to ping the NAS a wait for it. How long
does the NAS take to be available? Is there a delay between the NAS
being up and have drives visible to the network?

This is not such a niche request, I have a similar application, two
physical locations, each with a LMS and a single Alexa account. Sadly
however my 2nd location isn't a villa in Mustique :( just a small flat
in the UK.

I'd also like to be able to control both LMS from a single alexa
account, so will watch how this thread develops with interest. I'd be
happy to offer to test anything, that is of course when I'm allowed out
of my house and can visit my 2nd LMS!

I use the "Music, Walk With Me" plugin to do this. I mainly use it from
the default web interface. I think there are other plugins that will do
this, but I have not tried any others.

LMS 8 nightly; 3 Squeezelite players connected by powerline ethernet; 5

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Move playlist to different player (with web gui or OrangeSqueeze)

2020-04-18 Thread gian

Hello All,

I would like to know if there is a way to move the playlist to a
different player.
When you sync players they are ON all together.
I would rather pause the music, move to another player, and resume from
there.

I either use the web interface, or Orange Squeeze from my mobile.

Thanks for your advice,
take care,

-Gian

Sorry for responding so late. Thanks for your detailed response. I use
LMS in picoreplayer on a Raspberry Pi3. I wanted to try v2 as v1 did not
install in LMS 8 (I've since gone back to 7.9.2 to use v1 and it works
fine). Not having to find the right ffmpeg version each time I want to
reinstall LMS from scratch would be nice. I use a script I found at

HLS streams for SiriusXM channels. Below is the beginning of an m3u8

ls -l "/volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Cache/DownloadedPlu
gins/Spotty.zip"
ls: cannot access
/volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Cache/DownloadedPlugins/Spott y.zip: No
such file or directory

Ich würde an sich auch den manuellen Weg der Installation ausprobieren,
habe aber leider nur sehr rudimentäre Linux Kenntnisse und wüsste anhand
deiner Erklärung nicht welche Befehle ich hier wie verwenden muss.

2020-04-18 Thread Paul Webster

Note - i backed out the _SL300 hack in the most recent version.

As for why things get cached or not ... LMS does it by magic as far as I
am concerned.

Maybe your player fails to download fast enough and it gives up - but
LMS cached it anyway ... so next time that track played (if it was not
too long afterwards) then LMS provided the image from its cache instead
and did it faster.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] PiCorePlayer - retry Nertwork Mount, or delay startup somehow?

2020-04-18 Thread NigelC

Hi guys

Firstly many thanks for the great software - much appreciated.

My LMS runs on PiCorePlayer 5.0.0 on a Pi 3b, and runs well. The music
files are on a Zyxel NAS accessed via the Network Disc Mount facility
(CIFS)
My problem is every time we have a power fail, which happens a lot here,
once the power is restored, PCP and LMS restart more quickly than the
NAS. The mount of the NAS then fails and we have no music! I can resolve
this with a reboot of PCP or mount -a, but an automatic solution would
be far better.
Is there a way to retry the Network Mount if it fails?
Or delay PCP/LMS startup to give the NAS time to get going?
Or some other solution

I am about to move over to a Pi 4 which I guess will start even faster!

Thanks in advance

Mate, thanks a bunch for mentioning the PlayMP4 plugin! I had no idea
whatsoever that it was necessary with older models. Earlier, I installed
ffmpeg and tried manipulating custom-convert.conf to no avail.
Two related issues:

1. I cannot reproduce your problem. MP4 files served on local network
play fine with the plugin activated.
2. Playing mixcloud streams generally fails silently, after ten minutes
or so (this problem seems to be reported multiple times in this thread).
Interestingly, a few random mixes played without interruption.

Cheers,

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Have audio-stream and json track-info feed - Want LMS plugin for KCRW Eclectic24 !?!

2020-04-18 Thread Stig Nygaard

For general information, I have reported my RPi3/Max2Play/Jivelite
problem with cover-arts embedded from amazon here:
https://www.max2play.com/en/forums/topic/jivelite-dosnt-display-cover-art-served-by-m-media-amazon-com/

Paul, do you happen to know when/why some cover-art shown are "cached"
via a local LMS proxy? I assume it is not you who control it, but when
that happens cover-art seems to work fine. F.ex. I found this display
fine on my RPi3:
http://192.168.1.151:9002/imageproxy/https%3A%2F%2Fimages-na.ssl-images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FI%2F61woa6C3PCL._SL300_.jpg/image.jpg
Origin (at least in this case) is a different amazon domain than the
usually used m.media-amazon.com. Not sure if that is a coincidence or
makes a difference...

I have been mostly focused on my cover-art problem the latest days. I
will try to find some time testing your show and channel info vs
track-info "hacks" the coming days.
Thanks for the continuous work on this nice plugin :-)
