OK. This all makes sense. I favor not doing a UI change for the delay as it will just confuse most. It will be better to just put a value in that we are comfortable with. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Denon AVP Control Plugin
Aesculus wrote: > Do I need to do something with the defaults here? Is it the fact that if > there is no number it errors or does it not like 0? I have identified some timing problems that are more likely to occur when the "power on" and "power off" delays are zero and have been testing some extensive changes to address them, including forcing a minimum 1-second delay for both. Of course, the menu could also be modified to change the minimum and default values but I didn't want to get into that. In David's case, my guess is that a "power off" sequence did not complete successfully, which results in a socket connection being left open and subsequent errors. I also believe that the default timeout value for socket commands should be increased from 0.125 to 0.25 seconds, as the Denon protocol doc states that a response should be received within 0.2 seconds. Ideally, there could be a menu option for this, with a default value of 0.25 and a range of 0.25 to 1 sec. The doc also states that a client app should wait at least 1 second after a power-on (PWON) command before issuing the next command. In our case, this would be the delay before the quick-select (MSQUICK) command, which currently defaults to 1 sec. I have also identified and fixed a problem where the volume was not being synched during the "power on" process. The code was there to do it but the command failed every time with a comm error because the socket was closed prematurely. With this fix, the only time the player and AVR volumes should ever get out of synch is when the AVR volume is changed outside the Squeezebox domain. In fact, I have removed the code to synch volume on a "pause" as it is no longer necessary. Oh, and the plugin will no longer ignore the first "power on" command after LMS is started. As I mentioned, I'm still testing all this right now but would like to get some feedback after I feel that it is ready for "beta". Thanks. Yes, I have tried this but when you subscribe you end up with a very long list of programmes all mixed up in date order. So it does not look any different to the browse list after a while! I cannot get on with BBC's own Sounds app for listening to different editions of a favourite programme. I use to rely on the functionality in bps'a old BBC plugins to get round the BBC's lack of user experience knowledge. It would be nice if we could get some of it back again in this excellent plugin. humax99's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69035 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113045 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

That would be helpful. The lists can be very long. For example, the 'All Science & Technology' category currently has 226 items! It is not easy to find a specific favourite program to find the latest episodes. So anything to help with this would be useful especially if you can not Favourite specific programmes. What is also working is a virtual machine (here virtualbox) in OSX and map the remote share NOT within Windows instead map this remote share as local share via virtualbox. Of course first map this remote share within the host. Sounds odd, but works. I have 80.000 files to proceed. But i've also have a mac pro with 12 cores, so i'll tell you later. mamema's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44662 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113991 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Hello Philippe, Having sent you the earlier reply, I started playing the system in an "as is" configuration. That is, as installed, without any alterations whatsoever. All was well for about four tracks of music, then it stopped playing, for no apparent reason. It then started "stuttering", with odd bits of a track playing. Finally it stopped completely and wouldn't start to play, no matter what I did. I rebooted my computer, restarted LMS and tried again and the same happened again. The music just stops and won't restart. I've tried various operations, going from playing random tracks to playing whole albums, but the music won't start. The only way is to reboot my computer and start LMS afresh. Then after a few tracks of music, it stops, or stutters then stops and won't restart. I am at a loss as to what is happening. sachadog's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10564 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103728 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Yeah, I probably could support direct streaming for this plugin for some aspects. Although, for the Audio on Demand on Virgin, I suspect that won't be possible as the plugin has to stitch together 30 minute chunks of audio and manipulate stream durations time handling etc to support seeking.
