Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce - Song info plugin for FIP radio
Here is an edited screenshot showing segments. In this one, the full show "Par Jupiter !" Is shown starting at 16:07. It runs for about an hour. The 7 items that are listed after it are short segments from within the full programme. Playing one segment does not result in the next one being played at the end of it. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce - Song info plugin for FIP radio
Beta 0.3.1 now available The biggest change between this and 0.3.0 is that programme segments are now listed. This resolves the problem where almost nothing was shown for France Info but it makes the listings of some of the stations considerably longer. I am going to try to put the segments into a submenu so that you can choose to play a full programme or navigate down into the segments. One thing that this does show up is that there segments of programmes that are repeated during the day on some stations ... but the timestamp information gets confused. So you might see what looks like a time-ordered list with some of the items in the wrong place. I might change this (by sorting or faking some timestamps) but for now it is in the same order as provided by Radio France. The programme icons and descriptions that you see come from Radio France as part of their stream information as it plays. It looks good but is nothing to do with me being clever. Everything that I have seen so far is MP3 and it supports seeking - again this is nothing that I did, it is the nature of their on-demand content provision. I'll add a picture showing segments. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin
Thanks, Carsten. I think I might have a more automated solution, but it's "random perl hacking." The hack consists of adding one line to Common.pm in the MusicArtistInfo plugin directory. If you're comfortable modifying a perl file (after backing it up) I was wondering if you'd mind trying to reproduce the fix since you've already reproduced the problem. The change is in the bottom code block of this post. *Background:* If I am reading the code correctly, the file names for the Artist images are calculated in Imported::filename as Code: Slim::Utils::Misc::cleanupFilename( Slim::Utils::Unicode::encode_locale( Slim::Utils::Text::ignorePunct($artist) ) However, when checking for the existence of the file, it calls Common::getLocalNameVariants which doesn't have the same transformation of the name in the candidate list. *Fix?:* So I tried to fix by simply adding the same expression to the list of candidate file names by adding the bolded line below. Code: sub getLocalnameVariants { my ($name) = @_; my @candidates = ( $name, Slim::Utils::Unicode::utf8encode($name), *Slim::Utils::Misc::cleanupFilename(Slim::Utils::Unicode::encode_locale(Slim::Utils::Text::ignorePunct($name))), # Added this line* Slim::Utils::Text::ignorePunct($name) ); push @candidates, Slim::Utils::Unicode::utf8toLatin1Transliterate($candidates[-1]); # de-dupe results my %seen; return [ grep { !$seen{$_}++ } @candidates ]; } and it seems to work! Philippe, being that you are swamped with stuff this may be of no importance, but I am seeing something I wanted to ask about... I have been experimenting with the UPnP player gmediarender on an RPi Zero. I cloned the latest version from Github, built and installed it. Is this a keepalive packet of some kind? Gmediarender responds with something that includes "stat..." but I don't know what that includes. Is this a UPnP player status message? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
I'm using v2.7.17.0 64bit SqueezeLite-X as a direct install, i.e. not the MS Store version. There appear to be a couple of bugs, one longstanding, the other started with v2.7.16.0 For a long time now when SqueezeLite-X starts and the sysyem tray icon is clicked SqueezeLitr-X just shuts down and has to be relaunched manually. So no chance of looking at any logs as SqueezeLite-X simply isn't there! If I launch LMS in a web browser first SqueezLite-X carries on running and with any subsequent use of the system tray icon it carries on running. As I say, this behaviour has been going on for as long as I can remember. The other more recent issue (since v2.7.16.0) is that the system tray icon 'hides' after a Windows 10 reboot when configured in settings to remain visible on the taskbar. It remains visible all the while during a Windows session when configured to do so but always becomes hidden on reboot. 2 x Touch 2 x Radio 2 x Boom 1 x Intel-NUC server/squeezelite running LMS 8.20 (from nightlies) on Windows 10 1 X Odroid-XU4 server/squeezelite running LMS 7.91 on Ubuntu 16.04 1 x iMac server running macOS Big Sur WaveIO USB into Lavry DA-10 DAC Starfish Pre-amp : Based on NAIM NAC 72 Heavily modified NAIM NAP 250 Power-amp Focal Electra 1027 Be II Speakers bobertuk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30376 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

In the case of tracks played from Qobuz I am seeing quite a lot of "No artist found" results for Artist Bio. It is quite frequent but certainly not the norm. In all such cases the artist is correctly identified in Now Playing and the Queue. Is there something within the data coming from Qobuz that is causing this. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
Dropouts: Windows LMS (8.2) and SLX (2.7.17.0) Apologies for dual posting - I mistakenly put this in the wrong thread. Problem: Dropouts at erratic intervals on Windows 10 x64 using LMS 8.2.0 (latest) and Squeezelite-X (2.7.17.0 and earlier versions) System: Win x64 Asus Z370-A 32 GB RAM i7-8700K Clean Windows install; Various recommended audio optimizations to BIOS and Windows tried without resolution; ASIO connection in SLX to RME UFX+ ASIO; RME Fireface UFX+ as DAC, connected to the computer via Thunderbolt. Investigation: J. River (JRMC) plays the same files without dropout or glitches, so the files are OK (FLAC) With SLX, I get short glitches and dropouts at erratic intervals. Latencymon reports various overruns. The overruns do not occur when playback is by JRMC Running LMS on a different network computer than SLX does not fix the problem, so maybe SLX is the root cause?? Any logs or measurements I can send to help find the root cause? Noo - is this the true death knell for the Squeezebox Touch? What exactly do you believe is the end of SB Touch? I only just got mine used from eBay complete with a good linear power supply - but is this as far as it goes now with LMS and SBT? You can still use LMS, of course, just not the "TinyLMS" built in to the Touch. Install LMS wherever you want and use it. Mine is 440Mb - with around 25k artists although not 100% good tags and many obscure artists that probably have no image. While my library only has ~5000 artists, this still doesn't account for the DB size difference. Haha... I only have a few hundred album artists! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Database Optimizer plugin
i will, as i said, it's pure fun for me. As you seems to be very knowlegeable with databases, do you have suggestions to test the performance in a more "scientific" way, than "seems faster"..? You could write a script to run a bunch of requests: get a list of x albums, get the artwork for all these albums in a pre-cached size etc. Run the script against both/all configurations several times with server restarts in between to start cold. Good benchmarking is a science in itself :-). Because you should also take into account that the OS might be caching, too etc. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
