Thanks guys - you nailed it. When I pull the RPI player running squeezelite out of the group, it plays hi-res (it has a Hifiberry Digi+ pro on it - I should put that in my signature too :)) I am a little surprised the bitrate reductions happens this way though. To get the best audio quality, it should happen as late in the process as possible so immediately before sending the signal out from the server to the individual players. Indeed, this is how it works when I play back from my own music library. So I guess the Qobuz plugin is designed to ask for the lowest common bitrate. Now I know. I wonder how much effort it would be to change this. The server functionality to forward different bitrates to individual players is already there... Something like this has come up before with my plugins and I have not been able to resolve it so far. I think that the plugin is being called by LMS while it is not at the head of the playlist ... which is not really something that I had expected. However, I thought that it would not have much effect because it checks to see if what is playing is a station that it controls the data presentation for ... and it should ignore it if it is not. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
I'm experiencing something odd that seems to be associated with Radio Now Playing. This morning, using version 0.0.14c, I added Radio Swiss Jazz to my current playlist, to be played next. BBC Radio 3 was currently playing, using the BBC Sounds plugin. As soon as RSJ was added, the times displayed by LMS (time the current track has played so far and time remaining) changed to something incorrect. I can't be sure, but I think what happens is that every time the playlist changes, LMS gets the current time for whatever RSJ is playing and displays that instead of the correct time for what's actually playing. One other thing, although this is very obscure: the current_title tag contains the artist and title of what's playing on RSJ, while the artist and title tags correctly show what LMS is playing. I see this because I have a custom Now Playing display at several points around the house, and it sometimes uses the current_title tag. Later, while RSJ was playing, everything was correct. Afterward, when other tracks were playing, incorrect times were again displayed, as long as RSJ remained in the playlist. After ten songs had played, RSJ was dropped and times were displayed correctly again. I did not see any more incorrect current_title tags after RSJ played today, but I have seen that in the past, when using earlier versions of Radio Now Playing. I have also experienced incorrect times long after using Radio Now Playing, when no trace of it remained in the current playlist. On that occasion, restarting the server corrected the problem. I have not done additional testing to see if this happens with other sources. So far, Radio Swiss Jazz is the only station among those that I use regularly that seems to trigger this behavior. LMS 8 nightly running on Raspberry Pi OS. Mostly virtual players, occasionally with SB Radio, Boom or Classic. Alphabetically it is - I didn't see that. dsm 6.2.2 (synology disk station 115) running lms 8.0 -- rpi with a hifiberry dac+ running picoreplayer (any old version?) -- plugins: material skin, mai, podcasts, musik - folge mir, squeezelite-x, squeeze ctrl streifenleopard's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42019 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115420 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
That was a lowercase v uppercase problem. The qr//i that I had before was forcing a case-insensitive match. The Somehow Jazz station is one that has an uppercase letter in the URL ... but elsewhere in the code I was forcing the URL to lowercase. The result of the code change was meant that this would no longer match. Resolved in beta 0.0.14c by removing the lc call ... although this might make something else go wrong further down the chain. I'll PM you the beta repo URL so you can try it on the MAC if you have time. And you don't get any of these messages anymore if you disable this plugin (UCTI)? Without knowing more it's hard to say. The first message seems to be a networking problem ("Connect timed out"...) which may be related to the unreponsiveness but probably not to UCTI. The importer related messages are simply saying: some plugin like UCTI is asking the server if there's an active scanning process but the server can't get this information at the moment because the "database handle" is "inactive". That happens if you restart and immediately trigger a rescan (with the help of some plugin or script), and maybe did a database wipe before. UCTI only asks for this information (stillscanning) when it registers title formats or displays track information (song details page). So please check the (*timestamps* of the) log messages *_before_* you restart LMS (with the auto-rescan). And then do your restart/rescan and check the log messages and their timestamp again. Do the importer related messages only show up *after* the restart/rescan? Do you have a plugin/script enabled that triggers a rescan after *every* restart? (Plugin updates requires restarts as well.) Considering that other UCTI users have enabled auto-updating too and haven't reported such a behavior (unresponsive) I'm not convinced that UCTI on its own should have such a terrible effect on your LMS. And I haven't been able to reproduce this so far either. *Plugin repositories:* 'Ratings Light' (https://github.com/AF-1/lms-ratingslight) 'Visual Statistics' (https://github.com/AF-1/lms-visualstatistics) 'Use Comment Tag Info' (https://github.com/AF-1/lms-usecommenttaginfo) 'Dynamic Playlists 3 FAQ' (https://github.com/AF-1/lms-dynamicplaylists#faq) 'Custom Skip 3 FAQ' (https://github.com/AF-1/lms-customskip#faq) afriend's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39306 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114968 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] New plugin for audio bookmarks
Ok, installed lms 8.2 on a windows laptop, scanned just a small audiobook range and it works! Interestingly, in terms of network complexity and latency this is a worse situation than my original setup, as the laptop I just installed the temporary server on is accessing the audio book from the original ubuntu server over wifi. Does this mean it's not a network issue? I don't know, I don't really know too much about this stuff. The ubuntu server is an old underpowered machine and yes ubuntu 17.10 is old, but I didn't this would be the issue. When I have a bit of time I'll upgrade ubuntu. loz2103's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=55887 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102859 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
I've just made that change in beta 0.0.14b However, I think there is something else to this because that mechanism (whether it is right or wrong or inappropriate) is used in numerous places in this plugin (and my earlier ones) and does not cause general failures for MAC users. I think it must be the combination of the qr//i along with something else that is being used in my regex for Radio Swiss URLs - something that is a bit different about that regex compared to ones I use for other broadcasters. Anyway ... if this resolves it then the underlying issue goes to the backburner. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Podcasts > Sort List
This is Material Skin sorting the podcast list alphabetically. And, no, there is no option to disable this. *Material debug:* 1. Launch via http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json (Use http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json,cometd to also see update messages, e.g. play queue) 2. Open browser's developer tools 3. Open console tab in developer tools 4. REQ/RESP messages sent to/from LMS will be logged here. cpd73's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66686 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115420 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
