It's no that I need that. It's just the difference between the working and not working. A really funny thing is I found albums playing on normal pitch  So the input from from is doing something with squeezelite and ices. the properties of the album is 224kbps CBR *48kHz* MP3. forcing -r 48100 gives high pitch again.:confused: Hellsblade's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4283 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112809 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Pipe Squeezelite to Icecast
squeezelite is going to take any input and turn it into pcm uncompressed 16 bit audio. (flac/mp3/ogg/etc) ICES (not icecast) is going to read that and send ONLY ogg-vorbis upstream. The upstream either needs to deal with this, or you need to use a different tool. In my usecase Azuracast is my receiver, and accepts ogg-vorbis and re-encodes to mp3. If you need something other than ogg-vorbis streamed out of squeezelite, you can't use ICES, you need another tool that accepts STDIN as input. Darkice appears to send mp3 data, but my metadata update script is only going to push metadata via ICES. I wondered why all my others were 50/50 too, but I only noticed it on a new install on a cheap refurbed fire Tablet I just picked up. I figured that all other instance were installed at 50/50, then, similar to other prefs, remain after updates. The new install os obviously 70/30, So that's why I thought that I did it, and noticed I couldn't undo. Had it not been 70/30, I would have never noticed the dragging issue. In principle, running application as root is not a good idea as it means things are not being done properly and could end up very badly. I think you need to read up about running services which I don't know much but you probably need to create a script where the sequence of commands is done but with each step tested. A simpler approach might be to check - if it worked before and not now - what has changed ? bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113394 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] squeezelite output to file for snapcast
hmm I was able to solve it... as soon as snapserver started and no /tmp/snapfifo was available snapserver did create a file with "snapserver" as owner and group when I then tried to launch squeezlite with: Code: /usr/bin/squeezelite -s 192.168.1.47 -n evita -a 16 -o - > /tmp/snapfifo I would get an Persmission denied. When I stop snpaserver and let it run from the terminal with root everything is working as excepted. So what is the best way to start squeezelite also under the "snapserver" owner so it has permission to write to the /tmp/snapfifo file? Or should I both run as root? gekoch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71033 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113394 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Squeezelite cannot just generate junk - it has to play audio all the time. It outputs the audio from its source or silence (which is a stream of PCM bytes of data) if there is nothing from the source. Use "tee" to see what is being put into fifo. Use squezelite logging to see exactly what is going on. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113394 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
Beta 0.0.19l Now includes the live streams for all of the RTBF stations RTBF Mix does not seem to provide any song or programme information - possibly too complex for them since it seems to be a "best of" station playing output from other stations in their group. The apostrophe is missing from their song information - my guess is that somewhere in their systems they have lost it because of encoding problems between systems. They also put a lot in UPPERCASE which I transform to leading upper and the rest as lowercase - which can lead to errors like AC/DC become Ac/dc Paul Webster author of \"now playing\" plugins covering radio france (fip etc), planetradio (bauer - kiss, absolute, scala, jazzfm etc), kcrw, abc australia and cbc/radio-canada and, via the extra \"radio now playing\" plugin lots more - see https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?115201-announce-radio-now-playing-plugin Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115201 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
