Sure here it is -

Powering on AVR and playing
Volume changed by remote and then changed using LMS (material skin, web
UI) - from 43 (start), lowered by remote, next step on volume up was 46
Did the same thing again but hit volume down on LMS - next step down was
43
and so on

I still think it would be good if you can send the log for this so @samy
can take a peak at it. It does not behave this way for me. Note I am
using it in db though.

We did see some strange behavior before in some circumstances with the
SB Touch and 100% and @samy was able to figure it out. Maybe there is
somethin in your combo that the logs will show.

I think I figured out my issue - if you start at 43 (for example) and
use the remote to turn it down to 35, and then use LMS to hit volume up
it goes to 46. Not ideal in my opinion but I can deal with it now that I
know what is happening. The steps are a little strange though, goes from
12 to 19 to 25 and then in the 40s it goes by 3s or so.

The 7.9.3 version of LMS is quite old. I expect the version of
IO::Socket::SSL may also be old - the problem could be SSL related and
all version should be updated to eliminate this possibility.

There are no particular errors in BBC Sounds in your log, only
successful retries. As @bpa say, functionally there should be no
difference between your SB2 and SB3, they have the same insides, as I
understand it. So I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to suggest.
Presumably the problem lies in the connection between the SB2 and your
server, but I can't explain why you only get the connectivity problem
with BBC Sounds. If you move your SB2 into the same position as your
SB3 do you get the same behaviour?

Ps. you should not have "force http streaming" turned on, I suggest
turning that off again..

There's nothing particular about the SB2 that means it should have any
trouble with the BBC AAC streams, that I'm aware of, I believe it can
play them natively.Presumably you have no specific transcoding set
up for AAC in settings->advanced->file types ?

Presumably there is nothing in your server logs? If not, and you are
still having problems, turn on debug logging for BBC Sounds and play a
stream, then turn debug logging off and send me the log. I'll take a
look..

SB2 is essentially the same as an SB3 just a different case.
What are the setup difference between SB2 and SB3 ?

Great! Here's a quick test -

AVR was set to Spotify streaming, turned off.
Used plugin 4.4.2 to turn on, and it switched to smart select 1 (yay)
Played music
Turned off using plugin

Turned on AVR with 4.4.2
Played music
Switched input to TV Audio
Turned off using plugin, which turned the AVR off while on TV input (not
supposed to do that?)

Thanks for the constant work on this! Quick question as well - how do
the volume "steps" work? Each one seems to move the AVR volume quite a
bit. My player is set to increments of 5

The CPU usage thing was for Quobuz, and that discussion started right
after...you are a busy guy Paul...:)

But I think you are ion to it. Here is my original post:
https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109624-Announce-Material-Skin=1051285=1#post1051285
RobbH described it well, but from my post, what was more apparent was
the artwork and song/artist info being incorrect and seemingly adopted
from a different station in the queue. I did notice song progress
anomalies though, for example:

Add (RNP) JB Radio to the queue and play. Progress/duration X;XX/Y:YY
acts as normal
Add (RNP) Mother Earth to the queue (don't play). The progress for JB
Radio playing starts switching between X:XX/Y:YY and A:AA/B:BB where A/B
are the values for mother earth. The blue progress bar goes back and
forth, in fact, the duration value next to JBRadio (top of the queue)
switches back and forth. The switch frequency does not appear
consistent, but it is at least under 1-2 seconds.

Jim

PS - I am not sure that LMS (not RNP) likes multiple stations in the
queue anyhow. I started my experiment yesterday with all non-RNP
stations in the queue, and while they all played and did not swap
artwork, I did get artwork/song info "freeze" (display song from the
past and never change). I need to run it again to make sure it wasn't
the station, but I believe I saw it with more than 1 station.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin

2022-03-27 Thread Wojtulek

Hello!

Thank you for your great plugin!
Now we have Roon-like system :)

But...
Do you have any plans to extend sources of information?
Unfortunately Roon and ALLmusic is not ideal. ALL music doesn't mean all
unfortunately. I would even say that its not the best place to check
information about music - lack od data or data with errors...

Recently I noticed that Material shows no information about Zamilska.
Quick check: Roon no data, allmusic no data.
But: Spotify, Tidal, last.fm, discorgs, Shazam - all contain sth about
the artist.
https://www.last.fm/music/Zamilska
https://www.discogs.com/artist/3652872-Zamilska

Of course I can always google it but I'm disappointed that Roon doesn't
know Zamilska. It's not American artist, she is not mainstream for sure.
Bur she is quite well known musician :/
I had to complain a bit :)
