Did you change the name of T Cutting's Custom Clock style when you
modified it? If so did you update your Radio Custom Clock screensaver
selection to point to the new style name? If you would post your
modified Custom Clock Style file, I will take a look at it to see if
something pops out at me.

Not sure or not in a direct way. I think I’m close to understanding the
issue: the last segment of the file is transmitted while the client is
busy and not processing data (or much data) from the kernel layers. For
LMS, all has been sent and from a TCP sender point of vue, all has been
sent but the last segment is not acknowledged or received. It might just
be because the client has no room in the kernel buffers, but meanwhile
LMS asks the connection to be closed, maybe not with a shutdown but just
a close and that last packet is lost. This causes an error on the bridge
side and as a réponse LMS stops the track where it playing, discarding
the 99.9% already received.

There should be only about 10-20 log messages during startup/init so any

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)

2022-12-16 Thread philippe_44

Some additional information: I will double check tomorrow but it seems
that all data is actually being sent (at least seen by wireshark on the
sending end). What seems to happen is that either the FIN is not sent by
the server or a packet is not acknowledged by the client but after that
last received ACK, the server waits 2 minutes and sends a RST. LMS logs
confirms that it considers everything has been sent. This is pretty
mysterious to me. The difference between the failing and working case is
that failure happens (or seems to) when packets are held for a long time
by the TCP lower layers. Now, the whole timing of the sessions differs
which means packet sizes differ as well, so it might not be a timing
issue but rather a TCP window size of some sort, as a consequence of
timing differences.

Could be - names have to be exactly right but doesn't explain the weird
charactes - as if string variable in error message is pointing to
garbage or random memory.

Full "-d output=debug" log may show things up.

I only have one Windows box so can't run your exact test case. However,
I have an RPi with LMS and the plugin installed. Would it be of any use
(or even possible) to run the plugin binary on that machine against the
Win10 LMS? I tried changing the KeepAliveTime to 90 secs to no effect.
Also ran with the CC player synced to a DAC32 player and that eliminated

Maybe, I have a vague memory of a similar issue before where an ALSA
device only control was to enable/disable it.

What happens when you use squeezelite logging. On my system with only
default audio.

Code:

  minitower:$ squeezelite -L
  Volume controls for default
  Master
  minitower:$ squeezelite -d output=debug -V Master
  [20:29:22.986549] output_init_alsa:817 init output
  .
  .
  .
  [20:29:23.406090] set_mixer:203 setting vol raw [0..65536]
  [20:29:23.408834] set_mixer:237 Master left: -24.6dB -> 42780 right: -24.6dB
-> 42780

edit:

OK - are your logs are from squeezelite. I couldn't find the code for
mixer_init_alsa routine ?

I tried that earlier today while searching for tcpip-related settings

remain, so it appears to be unrelated. I think we're on the right track

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)

2022-12-16 Thread dwc

So sorry to have to ask what's probably been asked before, but searching
this thread has got me most of the way there, but not all the way.
Having the Qobuz and Spotify albums show in my music's "new music" page
is fantastic, but I'm trying to remove the online str4eaming duplicates
of local albums. I have found and enabled the server plugin setting to
"show only local album" and saved settings under the OMLI plugin
settings. I also read from searching that I need to accompany that with
selecting the "Library View" in my client GUI that hides online
duplicates (and I've even seen the screenshot of that switch) - but I
can't seem to find that setting in the Material Skin nor the old default
skin.

Where / how do I get to the Library View options in Material Skin?
thanks!

2022-12-16 Thread itm

I'm just looking at this again, now that I've upgraded HA to the latest
version. I've only just discovered that DialogFlow is a paid service.
Does that mean that there is no cost-free way of using this utility?

I wonder if it's phone specific (i.e. a google pixel thing). I am not
sure what phone Ron F is using.

Regardless, it's not a big deal (to me). If I press to clear cache and
get a response of any kind, that's fine.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] LMS with Google Nest Hub Max

2022-12-16 Thread itm

My Squeezebox Boom in the kitchen is on the blink, and I was thinking
about something with a proper display to replace it. The Google Nest Hub
Max looks interesting, but I was wondering whether it could be
configured to show the track details (name/artist/album) when content is
streamed to it using the Chromecast Bridge plug-in.
Does anyone know?

Squeezelite is restarted after changing options so the device shouldn't
be open. I noticed that the command line used is

Code:

/usr/local/bin/squeezelite -n "piCorePlayer" -o hw:CARD=E30,DEV=0 -a
80:4::1: -D 0:u32be -v -V "E30"

The inverted commas around E30 look suspect to me. I'll try adding -V
E30 to another squeezelite install on Raspbian.

2022-12-16 Thread Paul Webster

Apologies in advance if this has already been considered ...
If the break is at 120 seconds (plus a tiny bit) then maybe the Windows
TcpTimedWaitDelay is kicking in because of something that it thinks did
not get acknowledged 2 minutes earlier.

There is a registry key available to adjust from the default of 120
seconds
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/biztalk/technical-guides/settings-that-can-be-modified-to-improve-network-performance

Changing that number (and rebooting) and then seeing if there is a
direct correlation with the time when the problem happens would at least
help focus things.

Note - the key is not present by default.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin

2022-12-16 Thread Paul Webster

Beta 0.0.30k - 2022/12/16
- Add Regenbogen.de (27 stations) and and Regenbogen2.de (12 stations) -
artist, title and their cover art - plus programme name, synopsis and
image for "live" stations
- Bugfix - verify that what is playing isRemote before looking for
redirection URL

Regenbogen and Regenbogen 2 are the other stations in the Audiotainment
group.

There were some issues in getting these in because they have stations
with the same names across more than one station in the group and they
are using what looks initially to be the same URL for them but they play
different content. In reality the URLs do differ but it made my matching
stuff too complex so I have gone for a simplified solution that relies
on the "redir" stuff working properly (which it does).
It makes the plugin work a bit harder when trying to match things but
the effect is not noticable.

The station data is often a minute or so ahead of what you hear so I
have tried to minimise that effect by not using their timestamps (except
for the live stations ... since I need them there so that I can timeout
a track and replace it with programme details when news etc is on).

Their song artwork is quite high-res when compared to other stations so
these look pretty good on a large screen.

Some semi-happy sniffing indeed... So it's clearly an abrupt shut-off
from Windows side (RST, ACK - not a proper FIN, ACK) but I still have no
idea why. I've tried the following and it would be interesting if you
could confirm: the squeezecast app can run on anymachine, it does not
have to be on the computer that runs LMS. When I run it on another Win10
machine, it runs fine (just take the binary from
ProgramData/squeezeboxserver/Cache/InstalledPUlings/Plugins/CastBridge/Bin).
This 99.99% excludes any LMS implication. Of course, in one case the
socket is localhost to localhost, in the other it goes over the network
and that changes the pattern & timing, but still, it is very very
unlikely that it is not bloody Windows closing localhost sockets for
some reason.

There is a minor bug where the plugin records that there is a minute
remaining to listen on the program even though you have listened to the
end (its caused by how often the plugin sends a listening heartbeat to
the BBC API) but I'm not aware of any inaccurate recording. Can you

Good and bad news. I've been able to reproduce that on my Win10 system.
I've set the right log to show you the pattern, it's easier with the
stream set to debug

Code:

Squeezelite uses the largest integer format that the device supports and
pads the unused upper bits with zeroes.
For example, alsacap reports the following for my loopback device.

Code:

Card 2, ID `Loopback', name `Loopback'
  Device 0, ID `Loopback PCM', name `Loopback PCM', 8 subdevices (7 available)
1..32 channels, sampling rate 8000..192000 Hz
  Sample formats: S16_LE, S16_BE, S32_LE, S32_BE, FLOAT_LE, FLOAT_BE

squeezelite opens the device with S32_LE

Code:

squeezelite -o hw:CARD=Loopback -d all=info
  [06:49:21.605652] alsa_open:425 opened device hw:CARD=Loopback using format:
S32_LE sample rate: 44100 mmap: 1
  [06:49:21.605697] alsa_open:516 buffer: 40 period: 4 -> buffer size: 1764
period size: 441

squeezelite will use the digitial volume of the device if supported and
you specify the control with -V. The device is often named PCM.

Code:

squeezelite -o hw:CARD=Intel -L
  Volume controls for hw:CARD=Intel
  Master
  Headphone
  Speaker+LO
  PCM
  Mic
  Mic Boost
  Dock Mic
  Dock Mic Boost
  Internal Mic
  Internal Mic Boost

otherwise a software volume adjustment is applied using 32-bits.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] piCorePlayer and hardware volume control

2022-12-16 Thread slartibartfast

I think this should be possible but I am not sure how. I have a Topping
E30 which shows up as
Card 0: 'E30' - Control: 'E30 '
if I click "more" next to the -V option for Squeezelite. If I enter that
in the box I can't control the E30 volume in pre amp mode.
Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?

Yes, but you will need to add this yourself via a custom action - see
"Custom menu entries and actions" in
https://github.com/CDrummond/lms-material/wiki/07-Customisation

This is request is too Pi specific to add into the skin itself.

Odd, as I cannot recreate this. The APK's theme is always dark, and the
"Cache will be cleared" message is shown by the APK, so is light text on
a dark background. Which version of android is this? Even setting my
Android phone to use light, I still get a dark background with light
text (as I would expect).

Checke the command line you entered. Is it really missing a quotation
mark and has a commnand instead of a full stop and an extra colon ?

>From above

Code:

C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\Spotty\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread>spotty.exe
 -c , -n :Spotify Authorization" -u "timodell" -p "??" -a
--disable-discovery --ap-port 12321 --verbose

What is correct

Code:

C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\Spotty\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread>spotty.exe
 -c . -n "Spotify Authorization" -u "timodell" -p "??" -a
