Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00
Thank you for your reply Mnyb. Thankfully, you are omniposting in all subforums. So movie sound, even if it is flac, 2 channel, is heavier to process than audio due to larger buffers (i e would get stuck in buffering)? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00
Very low activity here. I have a few questions. 1. Is this plugin still active? Let's see if I understood how it functions, and whether my planned setup would work. I want to use this for movies because my integrated amplifier only has coax SPDIF in. A Squeezebox Receiver is connected to the amp. I have a professional sound card PCI-E in a PC. 2. Since sound will be looped back and then sent to the Squeezebox (I plan to do so over Wifi), I assume I can connect the soundcard, but I won't have to add any cabling. Is my assumption correct? 3. The soundcard and the movies are on a remote PC. I plan to send the film to another PC, which is too crowded to mount the soundcard. This will do processing with madVR and be connected to the TV. Sound will be sent over wifi to the Squeezebox, connected to the amp. Provided the wifi can handle it, is this a feasible set up? 4. Alternatively I could send the movie and the sound to the second PC, and then have it distribute the audio to the Receiver over RJ45. Perhaps a better alternative, but this second PC won't have the Sound card, so I believe this makes it impossible to stream the sound via this PC? Lipsync may be an issue. Probably not the only challenge. So, could any of these set ups be feasible? ---- Gadgety1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33223 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35718 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)
I've been out of the Squeezebox loop for many years, but got one of my Duet boxes working again. I'm running LMS 7.7.5 on a Windows 7 PC and on the Duet remote it says 7.7.3 r16662. Youtube streams are 48kHz, and I assume the plugin also streams it at this rate. The question I have is, can they be transcoded to 16/44.1 and then streamed to the Squeezebox via this plugin? My question is due to using an external DAC that plays 16/44. ---- Gadgety1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33223 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105840 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Android Wear support: Is Squeeze Control the only app so far?
Looks like it is the only app for Android Wear. It does play, pause and skip to next. I need volume control as well. On a side note, there's a more advanced squeezebox controller for Sony Smartwatch 2 (not Android Wear), it displays album art, artist and title. ln addition it does play, pause, skip to next track, previous track, volume control, turn on/off and quick change of players. Please Christian, have a look at the Motorola MotoACTV. It sports a 1.6 inch screen, runs Android on a 600Mhz CPU and has Wifi in addition to Bluetooth 4.0, GPS etc etc. Could be the world's smallest Squeezebox remote with your software! -- Gadgety1 ---- Gadgety1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33223 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91077 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The hardware can still handle it though. The basic version is 250 introductory, will be 299. Yes the screen is small. Too tiny? Just like an ipod Nano's. But if the interface in your app is scrollable it could still work. Only now have to go either through BT-dongle on PC or through the phone. They'll also have a coder competition with presentation of the winner on stage at the CES in Las Vegas in January. [SlimDevices: Plugins] The perfect Android based Squeezebox remote
We just got a SonyEricsson Xperia Mini Pro generation II Android phone. Running the official Logitech android app (so perhaps this should not go under 3rd party software) it is just the perfect remote control. I've got two Duet controllers to compare with. It's small enough to carry with you at all times, and it has a tiny keyboard for search etc. The only disadvantage is the screen orientation of the official Logitech android app seems to be portrait exclusively. Would be nice if it went into landscape automatically when opening the keyboard on the Xperia Mini Pro. The previous generation called X10 Mini Pro is on sale everywhere. Quite cheap, and ought to be just as useful, although the screen is plastic. Could be worth the money just as a remote, even if you don't need it as a phone. -- Gadgety1 ---- Gadgety1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33223 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91127 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'll return to you later on and I will try your app, just no time at the moment. You have a great, and unique, business opportunity in the upcoming android based bluetooth & wifi watch called i'm Watch. It runs Android 1.6 and has a 240x240 screen so your app should run on the watch. The official Logitech app will not run on this device. This means no need for a mobile phone to control the Squeezebox server, and the watch is the wrist most always! Amazing really. Why did I ever buy TWO Squeezebox Duet controllers...?! -- Gadgety1 ---- Gadgety1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33223 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91077 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Advantages / Disadvantages of the various Android Squeezebox remote controllers
Hi, My wife got a new Android phone. We downloaded the Logitech official remote controller. As there are several other remotes available, I wonder if anyone has made comparisons between the different alternatives, and could list Advantages (features/benefits)/Disadvantages of the various remote contollers in Android? We've just used ours for a few minutes and as we're having trouble with the Pogoplug server at the moment, I'll update this list later on .
