Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alarm restarting after timing out

2009-04-28 Thread SumnerBoy

I turned on the *Internet Radio* log set to see if this would shed any
light. The only log entry at the time the alarm kicks off again (12
mins after it times out) is;

[09-04-29 09:42:39.7764] Slim::Utils::Misc::pathFromFileURL (259)
Warning: Path isn't a file URL:
http://opml.radiotime.com/Tune.ashx?id=s99900&username=&partnerId=16

Can anyone please help?! It is very frustrating having to manually
shutdown my alarms each morning.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alarm restarting after timing out

2009-04-13 Thread SumnerBoy

I just happened to be near my Boom when the internet radio stream
restarted this morning and noticed a *Remote connection restarted* (or
something similar) message flash up on the display just as the 12 mins
elapsed and the Boom fired back into life after the alarm had
shutdown.

Is it possible the connection to the radio stream is being restarted
due to the alarm not correctly shutting down the connection when it
times out?

Any logging I can turn on to detect these sorts of messages?

Help?!

I am running 7.3.2 (24695). I don't/haven't used the snooze function so

Does anyone have a clue as to what might be happening here? What
logging should I enable to help try and track this down, since the

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Alarm restarting after timing out

2009-04-06 Thread SumnerBoy

Hi - I have an alarm set on my bedroom Receiver for 7.55am which times
out after 60 mins, and another alarm on my kitchen Boom for 8.00am
which times out after 90 mins. The alarms fire as expected and then
shut off after timing out. However about 12 mins after they time out
both devices turn back on and resume playing the alarm playlist (in my
case an internet radio station).

I have turned on debug logging for the alarm plugin and can see the
alarms firing and timing out, but there is nothing in the logs to show
them re-firing 12 mins after shutting down. Which leads me to believe
this is possibly not due to the alarm code - but I can't think what
else could be causing this.

Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? What other logging can
I enable to check this? NB: I definitely only have the two alarms.

Help!?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SaverSwitcher on 7.2

While I have you here I noticed these three lines in my server.log when
investigating this problem. The only show up after a server restart...

Code:

  [08-08-29 12:51:53.9822] Plugins::SaverSwitcher::Logging::msg (92)
unspecified: wrapping button functions
  [08-08-29 12:51:53.9836] Plugins::SaverSwitcher::Logging::msg (92)

I have SaverSwitcher logging set to ERROR only. Any ideas what is
causing this? I presume it is nothing to worry about since everything
seems to be function ok - just wanted to let you know...

[SlimDevices: Plugins] SaverSwitcher on 7.2

2008-08-28 Thread SumnerBoy

Should this work? I updated my install.xml to 7.2 so the plugin would
load but the server log is filling up with the following...

Code:

[08-08-29 11:48:23.6803] Slim::Buttons::Common::pushMode (2007) Error:
Couldn't push into new mode: [SCREENSAVER.plugin_SaverSwitcher] !: Undefined
subroutine &Slim::Buttons::Common::hash_of_savers called at
/usr/share/squeezecenter/Plugins/SaverSwitcher/Plugin.pm line 1549.

And the plugin is definitely not working. I am also unable to configure
the plugin in the settings menu either - it hangs my SB3.

Note this was an upgrade from 7.1 where SaverSwitcher was working
perfectly.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] IR Learning - permission problems

2008-05-25 Thread SumnerBoy

I have just installed the IR Blaster plugin and am in the process of
trying to get my SB3 to *learn* my amp remote codes so I can use this
great little plugin.

However whenever I enter the file/device name in the setup wizard, I
get a 'Cannot open file / device for writing.' error.

I am running Ubuntu 8.10 and have set the ownership of the IRBlaster
plugin directory to squeezecenter:nogroup and have tried changed the
permissions on the directory from 755 to 777.

Where exactly is the plugin trying to create this new device file? And
with what user will it be using? I am assuming it is with squeezecenter
and in /var/lib/squeezecenter/Plugins/IRBlaster/.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Advanced Alarm Plugin 1.143

2007-07-02 Thread SumnerBoy

I have started using this plugin as I like the ability to set the alarm
for all weekdays, rather than having to alter 5 different alarms, one
for each day. Having a "switch off after 'x' mins' is also great.

However I have noticed that when the alarm activates it seems to be
overriding or ignoring my screensaver. I like to have my RSS news feeds
scrolling across the screen in the morning when the alarm goes off - so
I can catch the latest news etc. However since switching to the
advanced alarm plugin all I get is the playlist details for the alarm -
even though the 'Now Playing' screensaver is set to RSS reader.

Anyone have the same problem? Any chance it could be rectified (if a
simple fix)?

Thanks to Kevin for a great plugin!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: MyPicks - OPML station list editor & menu

2007-06-14 Thread SumnerBoy

I think I have figured it out. I had created the 'My Playlists' folder
in D:\ and customised the folder to show the special folder icon
containing a music note. This seems to stop the plugin from gaining
write access.

The reason it all stopped working was because I was copying the entire
folder around, and hence obviously retaining this customisation.

Once I deleted this folder, and created a new one (same name on the
same drive - D:) I was able to save to it no problem.

Windows is obviously doing something weird when you set these
customisations which is screwing up the permissions somehow.

You are good! I tried putting the playlist directory in a sub-folder

I looked at the permissions etc for D: but they looked the same as C:.
I.e. nothing is publicly shared but I haven't specifically turned off
any permissions.

How do I check this? And how do I grant root permissions for D:?

Thanks a heap for your prompt and very useful assistance!

I wondered if it might be something to do with the space in the name so
changed it to D:\MyPlaylists\ (as well as renaming the directory of
course) but this made no difference.

BTW - Slimserver lives in C:\Program Files\Slimserver.

Hi I have just downloaded this plugin and am getting a similar problem

I did this and turned on d_plugin debugging and got the following
message...

Select task failed: Error in tempfile() using D:\My

writable
at C:\Program Files\SlimServer\server/Plugins/MyPicks/Plugin.pm line

NOTE: line 551 is...

my ($tmp, $tmpfilename) = tempfile(TEMPLATE =>
'MyPicksTempX',
DIR => $dir, SUFFIX => '.opml', UNLNK => 0, OPEN => 0);

as I added the "print $dir - $filename;" statement before the if(). BTW
- where should I see the output from this print command (I am new to
this stuff!)?

My playlist folder definitely has write permissions.

I hope this helps, let me know if there is anything else I can do to
assist.

I finally got around to testing this (sorry for the delay) and you are
spot on - I turned on the first SB3 and there was a 10sec delay -
during that time my other SB3 (in the next room) had the date/time
screensaver running and that froze for the 10secs - i.e. the seconds
weren't updated on the clock.

Does this help or narrow down the problem?

No I don't have any of these things running - never heard of them to be
honest.

I have enabled d_command and d_ir debugging so will see what they
produce.

I will also download that beta and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks for all your help!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Saver Switcher problem

2007-05-29 Thread SumnerBoy

When I try to turn on the SB3 and there is this 20sec delay, when it
finally does turn on, it shows the SqueezeBox splash screen - saying
'Free your music' etc. Therefore it isn't actually starting up until
after this delay.

I have tried pressing all sorts of buttons during this delay
(previously) and they have no effect. Including power on/off.

Peter,

Here is the log trace from this happening. If you would rather a text
file of the whole log let me know.

At 09:24:52 I clicked the power button to bring the SB3 out of standby.
You can see it took until 09:25:11 for it to register.

I hope this helps...

Peter, just an update, I have tried installing version 1.16 and there is
no change - i.e. the delay still exists.

I have just enabled debugging as you requested. I will post my findings
tomorrow morning.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Saver Switcher problem

Hi Peter - I only have version 1.14 so will get the latest version
immediately and see if the problem is still evident with that - if so I
will turn on all the debugging as you indicated and let you know the
results.

Thanks for the prompt response!

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Saver Switcher problem

2007-05-27 Thread SumnerBoy

Hi, I have been using the Saver Switcher plugin for a while and think it
is fantastic. However I have come across an issue which took a while to
track down. If I turn my SB3 off and I have the saver switcher
configured in 'off' mode, when I go to turn the SB3 back on, there is a
delay of between 0-45secs, depending on how long it has been turned
off.

I.e. if the SB3 is off for a few minutes it will startup again
instantly. But if I leave it off overnight, when I go to turn it on it
takes 30-40s to start up again.

Anyone else noticed this? Not sure what could be happening but I
presume it could be some sort of memory leak?
