Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] piCorePlayer repositories not available
In piCorePlayer, Main Page, Additional Functions - Extensions, I can see that I have access to the piCorePlayer repository (https://repo.picoreplayer.org/repo/) I therefore think the problem is with your network, for example firewall blocking the access, or possibly a hick-up by a virus scanner. If you didn't change anything in your network, maybe your Internet Service Provider (ISP) did something? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] FLAC 1.4.2 support?
Hi MorpheusUK Thanks for testing the new FLAC release. Presumably you ripped 16 bit. Possibly something 24 bit (?). The critical factor might become 32 bit. For now we can leave things the way they are, and should we experience problems with 32 bit FLAC, then we can point back to this thread. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Synology Docker LMS Step by Step
Here's a small add-on comment. When I updated LMS, my settings were reverted to default values. One of my beloved features is that LMS can show 'Random Album' picks, where a list of 50 albums are randomly selected and shown. I love it because I regularly get to listen to music I haven't thought about for a while. To re-enable the feature: LMS => Server Settings => Player => piCorePlayer (in my case) => Additional Browse Modes => Random Albums (check) Best regards, Claus cfuttrup's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32784 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115220 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Synology Docker LMS Step by Step
Now that LMS 8.3.0 (8.3.1 already!) is out, I'd like to update my Docker image file. Per Jaca's instructions you download the new image from the Image tab, but I only have Launch - Add - Delete - Export, no option to download. This is what works for me (almost follows Jaca's instructions as per Michael Herger): Open the Docker app. 1. In Registry tab - Search 'lms' and it should be the first hit. 2. Click download and select the version you wish to download (in my case the 'stable' version = latest build of the stable branch) 3. In Container tab - select Action => Stop - Action => Reset, you will be warned it deletes all settings, accept and continue. - Action => Start Now LMS 8.3.1 is running. It was upgraded from 8.2.1. Is there any cleanup that one should do? For example, does the files from the previous container disappear? Initially in FileStation I was able to specify owner = nobody of the /config directory (/docker/lms). With this setup, LMS was unable to complete a scan of my music library but halts when Pre-caching Artwork, it doesn't reach beyond 0 out of 548. Changing owner to the administrator account made it work. Hi Michael The 8.1.1 release shows up in the Synology DSM, but when I attempt to install it, it first downloads, then comes a short message "Not supported" ... the message then disappears. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LmsUpdate and LmsRepack - Synology 8.0.* packages
Hi Jaca Thank you for the link. It is helpful because it describes how to change the permissions to the lms folder, but it still isn't working for me. Here is what I did: 1) Install Docker. It's simple, you just get it from Package Center. I don't remember doing anything special. 2) Open Docker. Go to 'Registry' and search for 'lmscommunity' - click the found image file. You get to choose a tag. I chose 'stable' ... then push DOWNLOAD. 3) In the docker directory on the Synology Diskstation, I have made a subdirectory named 'lms' and inside that directory I've made a subsubdirectory named 'config' ... 4) Once the docker container is downloaded, in the Docker app, I went to 'Image' and found the downloaded image of LMS. Double-click the image and a dialog box shows up, where you configure the LMS docker container. 5) First config page is the 'General settings' and here I enabled 'Enable resource limitation' and set CPU priority to LOW + memory limit to 1 GB (the machine has 2 GB). Normally LMS should require much less than this. 6) In the General settings config page I then click the button 'Advanced settings' and this opens up a dialog box with 6 tabs: - Advanced settings - Volume - Network - Port Settings - Links - Environment In the first tab I 'Enable auto-restart' In the second tab I push 'Add Folder' button and I add docker/lms/config and I specify the mount path: /config In the same way I add /music as /music I also add /music/Playlists as /playlists Then I push the Apply button I did not change anything about Port Settings, which BTW means TCP/UPD = 3483 and 3483, and also a couple of TCP ports are listed, these are 9000 and 9090. I did not add any Links (the list is empty). In the Environment tab, I changed PUID to 1026. I saw someone in the forum mention this worked for him/her. Indeed my admin account is disabled (as recommended by the Security Advisor) and my admin has a different name, etc. I SSH'ed into my machine and found that the $UID = 1026 for this admin account. I did not change anything else in the Environment tab, and I see that HTTP_PORT = 9000. When I execute in a browser the command http://myip:9000/ ... then LMS doesn't show up and the browser gives the classical error "This site can't be reached" ... Just in case this was interfering with the 'other' LMS server (the original Synology package from pinkdot), I stopped this service. This doesn't change anything. Is anyone able to spot what I am missing? Above is exactly what I have done, no more and no less. I did not specify /music and /playlists folders as read-only. Just reporting so we know that MS Store can behave like this. On another note, even with 2.5.7 installed, if I start my computer without network (w/o WiFi), then SLX just hangs there and never retries. It happened today for over 1,5 hours. So I just shut down SLX and start it again, no big problem, but I wonder if a routine could be added that, in case there's no network, could make it go back and check once every minute (or once every 10 minutes or whatever is convenient) ? Hi there When I started my computer this morning SLX was updated to .28 (directly from .25). The computer started without (WiFi) network so presumably the update was downloaded yesterday and installed when restarted. Just reporting my observations. SLX "hangs" - maybe because of lack of WiFi upon start. I "Exit" SLX and started it up again, now it's fine. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
Today SLX upgraded to 2.4.25. I observed, which isn't exclusively .25 ... also previous versions, that my computer started with network (WiFi) off. Then SLX is autoloaded and doesn't connect. When I connect to my WiFi, then SLX doesn't discover that the connection is now established. Conclusion: Once SLX is started, it doesn't come back and check. Another observation, my twiddle fingers somehow managed to load SLX twice (I truly wonder how). Then two instances of SLX was started, and the system could not be closed down. I had to load task manager and End Task. What i found was mherger mentioning a module, and referring to another thread (on Spottify), let me reiterate here: 1. Log on as root 2. cd /etc/apt 3. vi sources.list 4. Google how to use vi editor in unix ( i.e. https://www.ccsf.edu/Pub/Fac/vi.html ) 5. Remove # sign at the beginning of this line: # deb http://archive.debian.org/debian etch main ( uncomment line ) 6. save 7. apt-get update 8. apt-get install libio-socket-ssl-perl I logged onto my NAS, went into /etc ... but the apt subdirectory doesn't exist. I searched the entire drive for a file named sources.list, but didn't find any. Also "apt-get" is not a command, so I don't know how to install the libio-socket-ssl-perl ... Can someone please let me know if these instructions are still valid? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] piCorePlayer LMS + ickstream + TIDAL?
Thursday I received a TIDAL account, so today I fixed up piCorePlayer (it needed a new DAC) and found that TIDAL is a module you must install in LMS plugins. It uses mysqueezebox.com so you need a valid account there. In mysqueezebox.com you need to load the TIDAL module and configure it to be enabled on your devices home screen. Hereafter on the home screen (root of the menu) I was able to find My Apps -> TIDAL and this doesn't require switching to or from my local library. Anyway, that doesn't work, so I tried to enter an arbitrary name ("LMS") and that doesn't work either. At the bottom status bar I get "Logitech Media Server did not respond. (LMS:9002) ... well, sure it doesn't ... and when I enter the proper HTTP address, the program cuts this short and shows only (http:9002) ... so, how do I get this to talk to my LMS? Under Player Name (next setting) I typed piCorePlayer because I thought maybe I can control my player with Squeezelite-X, but I'm not sure.
