Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
I need help. I am running LMS on my Windows 8.1 computer and trying to use Custom Clock Helper and Superdatetime (WU version) to display weather data on my Touch. I uninstalled SDT on the LMS Plugins tab. Then I unzipped tcutting's latest file to the Plugins directory shown on the Information tab. Stopped and restarted LMS and updated my SDT settings. When I look at SDT from the Extras choice on my Touch, I get horizontal lines covering the whole screen rather than current conditions, forecast, etc. I believe I am properly connected to LMS because all of my music shows up on My Music on the Touch. Any ideas? cisaak's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41598 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'm embarrassed and apologize for wasting your time. Turns out I had entered an airport code but labeled it as a weather station. Works fine after correction. cisaak's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41598 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I realize it might sound strange that this comes from me, but I would strongly recommend people who want to encourage Greg/GoCubs to maintain it in the future to donate, currently it's all the third party developers who is willing to spend their spare time supporting plugins like Greg who makes the Squeezebox what it is, they need all the encouragement they can get. Just donated. SDT is vital to my use of my Touch. ajkidle wrote: Greg, I'm noticing some odd behavior related to the precipitation field (%z if I remember correctly off hand.) I understand that this field now contains either the word Rain or Snow -- which is great, except it seems to not always contain that word. If I use the string Prec %z, sometimes I get: *Rain 80%* and sometimes I get: *Prec Rain 80%* The latter isn't desired. Is there a way to force more consistent behavior for this field? I'm pulling data for zip code 48103, if that helps. I eliminated Prec from my strings and now I get Rain 80%. Maybe that will work for you. cisaak's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41598 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

GoCubs wrote: Of course I want to be consistent. In this case it sounds like you're using Custom Clock on a Touch as non-touch players automatically show in all caps when presenting. Custom Clock pulls raw data from SDT via API so it's grabbing inconsistently stored data. I can easily make them all consistent so that Custom Clock gets them that way. What is desired- Rain vs RAIN I assume? Thanks -Greg Yes I prefer upper/lower for Rain, Snow, Tonight, Tomorrow, etc. Any help would be appreciated. cisaak's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41598 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
Started using 5.9.16. Generally back to normal except for the much noted switch from prediction to observed. In my case, the high/low temperature (%f) switches from a prediction to observed and the precipitation probability (%x) switches from a prediction to a blank. Like all of us, I hope this can be fixed. Two other nits. In my script I use %y to state each period. %y generates Tonight in upper and lower case and TOMORROW in caps. Any way to make consistent? Also, %x generates PRECIP 20% or RAIN 10% (all caps) while most of the rest of the criteria generate upper and lower case results (e.g., High 77% or Partly Cloudy). Once again, any way to make consistent? cisaak's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41598 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

ajkidle wrote: Here's how I do it on my Vortexbox running Fedora - don't know if this will be the same for your box. (And I'm no Linux expert, I've just stretched my DOS knowledge far enough to get by...) 1 - I have a shared directory on the Vortexbox that I can access via an SMB share. I drag and drop the plugin.pm file from my MacBook to this directory. Next, I have to get it into the correct directory for SuperDateTime to use it. 2 - I use MacBook's built in Terminal program to SSH into my Vortexbox. (I'm sure there is something equivalent for Windows that is a text based Terminal program.) I do this by typing: Code: ssh r...@192.168.1.xxx Obviously you need to change that to the IP address of your box and whatever user name has write privileges. I use root, but that's sloppy practice. At this point, I'm logged into the Linux box and am controlling it via command line. 3 - Copy the file to the correct location. In Linux, -cp- is similar to the DOS -copy- command. In this case, the SMB share I drag-and-dropped to is the directory -/storage - Code: cp /storage/Plugin.pm /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/SuperDateTime/lib/Plugins/SuperDateTime/Plugin.pm 4 - Logout Code: exit Note that Linux is case sensitive, whereas DOS is not. Other useful Linux commands and their DOS equivalent that may help you navigate around: Linux : DOS ls : dir cd : cd cp : copy If someone knows of an easier way to do this, I'd love to hear it. This process has always seemed annoying to me. Good luck! I discovered I could not use SSH on my Netgear ReadyNas unless I enabled SSH--which voids the warranty. Any way the new file could be added to the repository while it is being tested? The old file is apparently useless and adding the new file to the repository would allow the rest of us to test it. cisaak's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41598 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I think another user had similar issues and it started to work in Custom Clock after entering the Extras/SuperDateTime menu once, I'm not sure if it was related to entering the menu or if it was something else that made it start working. The Extras menu on my Touch has entries for only Weather, Information Browser, and Custom Clock. I get some weather info when I press Weather.
