Now maybe it's something lost in translation but for me 'on the go' either implies listening offline (which you can't) or using a mobile device such as an iPod (which they now say you can't). Or maybe those clever French at Qobuz have got a very long mains and ethernet cable that allows them to carry their desktop while driving down the autoroute. If they were in the UK then I'd be asking the ASA to have a quiet word. countryman69's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=61336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97146 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Qobuz.com streaming plugin
I am on Basic subscription. Qobuz are now saying that this does not allow using a mobile device such as an iPod. It used to work fine but I guess they plugged a hole as it isn't now. What hacks me off with Qobuz is that the promotional material on their website quite specifically says for the Basic subscription that you can listen to 'all your music, at home or ON THE GO (my caps). But when I asked them why had it stopped working, they said that Basic was only for the desktop at home. So they are misleading customers. For me, it's not worth shelling out any more just so I can listen to on my iPod in my workshop attached to the house. The daft thing is that if I lugged my iMac down to the workshop then, of course, i could listen. But that is not practical. Maybe I should buy an old Mac laptop! countryman69's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=61336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97146 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I have installed the Qobuz plug-in (many thanks for making this available). When I try to run it, I get prompted with 'Please enter Qobuz username and password in Server Settings/Advanced/Qobuz'. But on which program? Orange Squeeze on my Android phone? I cannot see it anywhere. On the LMS server n my Mac? Again, I cannot find this anywhere. Somewhere else? Head scratching here! On the subject of 'no player found' ...I am assuming that that is referring to the player that runs on the iPod (and bought via the inline purchase in iPeng)? If that is the case then why would iPeng say 'no player found' when it is 'stalled' ? countryman69's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=61336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Many thanks for the update. I didn't send any email because after stopping AutoLock on the iPod iOS from kicking in, iPeng is working as good as gold. I just checked my settings in iPeng and the critical ones (at least as far as I can see) are : Prevent Sleep ModeOFF Preserve connection OFF Connect Last Server OFF Would I be correct in saying that the first and third should be ON ? I cannot find any reference to WOL countryman69's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=61336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
pippin wrote: Not necessarily. Prevent Sleep Mode turns off the auto lock. So if that's what you want, it would be the way to go instead of turning it off on a system-wide basis. Connect Last Server is really only required if you use several servers and you switch players between them while wanting to stay connected to a particular server. It's really only helpful in a few edge cases and iPeng 7 doesn't even have it anymore, I'd leave that off. Aha. Well, you wrote you had turned it on WOL is in iPeng's server settings. Tap the details disclosure button () behind the server name. Did you enable WOL on the iMac, too? OK..found it and turned it on. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
iPeng 2.0.15 and iPod 6.1.5. Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.3 iMac 10.6.8 Player is the bought-inline player via iPeng. The iPod Touch connects back to my iMac as follows : iPod Touch WAP in workshop ethernet switch iMac All IP addresses are static. If Auto-Lock kicks in on the iPod Touch then I find that iPeng has stalled. I can force a quit, reload it but it stays stalled and will not connect back to the iMac. Sometimes it will even lose its player and say 'no player found'. Bring the iPod Touch back into the house. New connection routing iPod Touch WAP study ethernet switch iMac. iPeng still stalled until the iMac is brought out of sleep. Then iPeng reconnects, starts working, the player appears as if by magic. Take the iPod Touch back out to the workshop and it now works fine. OKthe fix is to make sure that the iPod Touch never goes to sleep via Auto-Lock. But what I don't really understand is why it all fails to start working when the iPod Touch is brought out of sleep. The iMac is asleep but the background LMS is still working and delivers music via iPeng (when it hasn't stalled post-auto lock on the iPod Touch). TIA If any more information is needed then please ask. There is no diagnostic report in the iPod Touch. countryman69's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=61336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

pippin wrote: Yes there is. Tap the mail link under Help. Please send that one when iPeng stops working the next time and also include the IP addresses of the server and the iPad/iPod. Will do. pippin wrote: I'm sorry, I didn't really understand what exactly your problem is. I understand you sometimes lose the connection to the server but, for example, it isn't clear to me when LMS is running and when it isn't. You write that the Mac running LMS goes to sleep but you claim LMS is still running??? How would that work? Either the Mac is sleeping or LMS is running, you can't have both at the same time. What exactly do you mean by stalled? Are you trying to remotely control the iPod or locally (on the iPod itself). If iPeng is not playing it will shut down the network connection when the screen saver kicks in (iOS suspends the App) so you can no longer remotely control it. To avoid this you can enable the Preserve connection setting in iPeng. I am running iPeng directly on the iPod. I take the audio out directly from the iPod. So I touch the iPod screen to play/pause iPeng etc and listen to the audio using the player that I bought inline via iPeng. When I say stall I mean exactly that. When the auto-lock on the iPod kicked in, after I swiped the lock to re-awaken the iPod, iPeng was totally unresponsive as far as accessing the LMS was concerned. I could navigate through the various screens on iPeng but if I tried to look at, say, playlists then all it did was display Loading. For ever. It would also say 'no player found'. It was as if iPeng had decoupled itself from the world. Doing nothing more to the iPod I took it back into my study. The iPod re-established a connection via the WAP located there but still sat there doing nothing. Only when I awoke the display on my iMac did iPeng then re-establish itself with the library, the player became active as well on the iPod and everything worked. (I now realise that the iMac was not sleeping...just the display..my bad.) countryman69's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=61336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Any recommendations for an alternative to iPeng?
I've looked through the Help menu, read the menu and the FAQ's but can;t see anywhere any reference to where any logs etc might be stored. There are a mere five items in my playlist. Each item has maybe 10-12 tracks. I don't shuffle it. My library is almost exclusively classical and most has been downloaded off-air. So there is little in the way of any artwork. I have 27Gb unused on my iPod. I have 3739 tracks, 1369 'albums' in my library. countryman69's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=61336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99639 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

pippin wrote: As I wrote: I need your device ID, if you sent the crash logs I do already have those. Just need to understand which ones are yours. You could also look at Settings-Info-DiagnosticsUsage for crash logs. OK, your library is too small to cause memory issues all by itself. BTW: Artwork is not an issue, it's only cached temporarily in RAM, if anything a huge library (100,000s of tracks) could have an impact. So it's more likely something related to the audio itself. Does it also crash if you play on a Squeezebox? One more question: Do you have other Apps running in the background? Running it for three hours without any issues on my 3rd generation iTouch here. Ah...now we might be getting somewhere...I now realise that the Settings you refer to is the iPod Settings and not iPeng's! Looking there I can see three LowMemory events, all of which correspond with iPeg crashing. So to help, when you say device ID, do you mean my serial number of the iPod? If not, please can you tell me where I will find the data. Many thanks for your help on this, BTW. As far as I can tell, I have no other apps running in the background. Our posts crossed. I will give your suggestion a go. However, since last posting I have power-cycled the iPod which looks as if it cleared out the Diagnostics. (I had power-cycled before and also carried out a Factory Reset so that the iPod was a clean as possible.) I also downloaded a small app that displays Memory thinking that (a) it might show up any applications running in the background that shouldn't be and (b) show if the Free memory is gradually disappearing. Needless to say I've been running iPeng and it has lasted longer with no signs of crashing! Have to suspend investigation until tomorrow.
