Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Triode / bpa BBC iplayer fix - are updates required ?

Here is an update suggestion: I am a huge bpa and triode fan and am very grateful for their work in bringing the new HLS streams back online. I am in the US but I am using Smart DNS which should result in the higher bitrates for BBC 3's on demand programs. To test it out, I tried the BBC 3 on demand program "Essential Classics" for Monday 8/24/2015. BPA's iPlayer Extras plugin (v1.8) resulted in the 320 kbps version while Triode's iPlayer plugin (v1.3.1alpha3) resulted the 128 kbps version. There is a difference in the URL each is using, and that probably is what is causing the different result. jdavies's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22463 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104013 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC schedules give "no programs found"
I just upgraded to AlienBBC 2.4a5test-7.3, and it works fine. All the BBC Radio 3 "other episodes" seem to be there, and the "schedule" listing looks complete. Thanks!! I have a Roku M1000, and to get my player to work, I did have to manually add lame 3.98.2 to the bin folder and I had to remove the "-x" parameter from the rtsp mp3 line in custom-convert.conf. Maybe you could build these changes into the upgrade. I also had to set the Audio Start Time to 10 (although this setting did survive the upgrade). -- jdavies jdavies's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22463 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60014 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC schedules give "no programs found"
bpa, I installed your custom-types.conf file in place of the old and deleted the FileCache folder and stopped and started SqueezeCenter. Still "no programs" under Radio 3/schedule, and, under Radio 3 I'm still getting the same partial listing - one or two episodes each. Here is what I get: Schedule Categories Afternoon on 3 - Episode 5 Afternoon on 3 - Episode 4 Breakfast - Rob Cowan CD Review - Tchaikovsky: Romeo and Juliet The Choir - BBC Singers/VocalEssence Stephen Cleobury Concert Choral Evensong - Wed, 18 Feb 2009 Classical Collection - James Jolly Composer of the Week - Episode 5 Composer of the Week - Episode 4 Discovering Music - Beethoven's Fifth Symphony Drama on 3 - Harold Pinter Double Bill The Early Music Show - Padre Antonio Soler The Early Music Show - Episode 2 The Essay - Episode 3 The Essay - Episode 5 Hear and Now - Grisey's Les espaces acoustiques Iain Burnside - Idealism In Tune - Sean Rafferty Jazz Library - Art Farmer Jazz Line-Up - Gary Husband Jazz on 3 - Saalfelden Jazz Festival 2008 Jazz Record Requests - Sat, 14 Feb 2009 Late Junction - Max Reinhardt Music Matters - The Arts and the Financial Crisis Night Waves - Patrick Tyler Performance on 3 - Gunther Herbig/BBC Philharmonic Performance on 3 - Fri, 13th February 2009 - Part 2 Private Passions - Peter Kosminsky Radio 3 Lunchtime Concert - Alina Ibragimova (violin) Radio 3 Lunchtime Concert - Episode 3 Radio 3 Lunchtime Concert - Episode 12 Radio 3 Requests - Tasmin Little Sunday Feature - Darwin's Conundrum Through the Night - Thu, 19 Feb 2009 Twenty Minutes - Piano, by Jean Echenoz The Verb - Nick Harkaway/Alex Horne The Wire - Nina Black Words and Music - The Ascent of Man World on 3 - Lopa Kothari World Routes - Episode 2 -- jdavies jdavies's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22463 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60014 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC schedules give "no programs found"
OK -- I deleted the entire FileCache folder (and all subfolders) and stopped and restarted SqueezeCenter -- and it worked! I now have all the listings back that I had earlier this morning under AlienBBC/Radio 3. (The listings are still not complete; for example, there is only one "Breakfast" listing. But I think that may be due to the change in the BBC website that you mentioned a couple of days ago.) Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC schedules give "no programs found"
The radio timeout setting is 5. As for what I was doing before this happened, I was checking the AlienBBC/Radio 3 - schedule listing -- and that said "no programs found" and then when I returned to the regular "AlienBBC/Radio 3" listing it then said "no programs found". Before I checked the AlienBBC/Radio 3 - schedule listing (a half hour earlier), I did get some programs listed as I scrolled down AlienBBC/Radio 3. Now I get nothing at all under AlienBBC/Radio 3 (I don't even get "schedule"). It's now been 5 hours -- and still nothing. I have tried stopping and starting SqueezeCenter -- to no avail. Is there a way to empty the cache manually? -- jdavies jdavies's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22463 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60014 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC schedules give "no programs found"
As of 1:40pm EST (Philadelphia) on 2/18/09, AlienBBC Radio 3 Listen Again reports "no programs found." The Alternative Listen Again for Radio 3 does still list all the programs, however. -- jdavies jdavies's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22463 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60014 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC 7.3 version - beta trial
I have SqueezeCenter (7.3.2) and AlienBBC (v2.4a4-7.3) on Windows Vista. I also have Lame.exe (3.98.2) in the same folder as mplayer.exe. I have an SB1 player (actually, its a Roku Soundbridge M1001). It all works beautifully to play the BBC live and listen again streams. Thanks bpa and Triode! To get it to work, however, I had to do two things -- that are the reasons for this post: 1. I had to remove the lame "-x" param from the custom-convert.conf file (in the rtsp mp3 line). Simply changing it to "$-x$" did not work. With the "-x" param, all I got from the BBC was static. I had to do this again when I upgraded the AlienBBC to v2.4a4 because the custom-convert.conf file was overwritten. By the way, removing the "-x" param was not necessary with Lame 3.97. 2. Also, I had to set the "audio start time" in the SqueezeCenter to 10 (rather than 0). Otherwise, the live BBC streams would not play (the listen again streams would play but not the live streams). I'm guessing its a buffering problem. -- jdavies jdavies's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22463 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53738 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
