hi michael, just to follow up, the issue of not being able to transfer playback to the Spotty device is inconsistent. usually in the morning when both LMS and squeezelite boot up, i can select the device and as long as i leave it alone, it plays just fine. but if i change to another device and try to re-select the Spotty device, it will not work. at that point in time, the log shows the following entry: [20-07-10 07:45:02.0192] Plugins::Spotty::Connect::DaemonManager::checkAPIConnectPlayers (208) Connect daemon is running, but not connected - shutting down to force restart: dc:a6:32:4e:be:ab buster and in a minute or so, the device re-appears in the device list. whether it can be selected or not is random it seems pavowren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51958 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

i have found the culprit: 5GHz wifi access point used by LMS machine. i happened to check the machine and it was connecting to the 5GHz AP i'm guessing due to its stronger signal. i disabled the 5GHz and instead connected to the 2.4GHz AP. and all seems to be working normally! n.b. come to think of it, i have had issues with 5 GHz elsewhere. e.g., on a laptop running Ubuntu, Thunderbird has trouble connecting to mail servers. pavowren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51958 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112084 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
here's what i'm seeing and i am confused! sqLite - runs on RPi with LMS/Spotty, which runs on a Linux machine on the lan. myfy - my own app using Spotify WebAPI 1) i can see sqLite and select it on Spotify app as well as on myfy 2) as far as Spotify is concerned, everything is ok since the track is playing and progressing 'cause i can monitor it, only visually, there is no sound out of sqLite device 3) but LMS web page does not show Spotify so, apparently Spotty cannot get the refresh token and so cannot receive data? Plugins::Spotty::API::Token::_killTokenHelper (169) Timed out waiting for a token but there is this error in server log. We will be disabling your API key in fourteen (14) days, which will prevent your application from accessing the Spotify developer platform. Please note that it is not possible to reply to this email. We use the APIs in good faith and have done so for over 10 years. To receive this email with no chance to appeal or even speak to a human being is really disappointing. If we are in breach of the impossibly vague terms specified then we'd really like to have a chance to rectify this. We have worked extremely hard on integrating Spotify into our project and our software is only available for use by Spotify Premium subscribers. We don't think this is how a big tech company like Spotify should treat it's developer community. Can we please have some information on how to appeal this decision. squeezelite has been running on rpi3 for months... until yesterday when spotty was upgraded to 4.0.3. squeezelite device shows up in Spotify as usual and i can activate it as usual. Spotify shows it as playing but at rpi3, there is no display of track (via jivelite). and no audio. one other thing i have noticed: when i click on Spotty in My Apps (on LMS web page), it never loads. all other functions including internet radio and local music work as before. any ideas what went wrong? or is there a way to try reverting back to previous version of Spotty? pavowren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51958 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

But the actual playback is via my android app which submits the playlist to spotify. This skipping issue is "random" in that sometimes it does not occur and when it does occur, the number of skipped tracks (always in the front of the list) can be 1,2,3, or 4. And eventually, the playback continues normally. When I tried the LMS web interface to submit a playlist, the problem does not seem to happen. I've tried several times and there's no skipping of tracks. Unfortunately, I rarely if ever use this interface. So, it would seem to indicate my android app and its submission which has not changed in recent months. I'm using Spotify Web API and send an array of URI's. I'm really at a loss as to how to further investigate this "moving" target of a problem... pavowren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51958 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110455 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty: odd behavior under slow internet
Hello all, I'm one of those cord-cutters whose only internet connection is a mobile hot-spot. When t-mo is open full-throttle (up till 10gb), it can clock up to 30mbps or even higher and everything's beautiful. But when 10gb allotment runs out, the speed goes down to 600kbps and that's when odd behaviors appear. It is not an impossible situation but I'm hoping for some explanations. Here's my setup: RaspberryPi 3B+ runs squeezlite/jivelite. It has a Allo DigiOne which feeds into external DAC. When it works, the sound is absolutely great and I can't imagine it getting better. Intel NUCi7 runs LMS 7.9.1 and that's all it runs with local music stored in SSD. All devices are on LAN where the local router is hard-wired to a WAP which connects to the hotspot. Odd behavior: 1) with Spotty audio set at Extreme (320kbps), gap between songs is av. 50 seconds. when set at High (160kbps), gap is "normal" anywhere from 1 to 5 seconds. 2) with either setting, if I disrupt the bandwidth by surfing the net for other activities, music stops playing at the end of the current song and does not continue. The Connect device is gone. Only remedy at this point is to restart LMS; I've made a button for that purpose. When LMS comes up, Spotty device appears again, and I activate it to begin the playback. Here's some relevant server log: ===>>> [19-03-13 14:53:32.0050] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_eventAction (273) b8:27:eb:fd:ab:5a: StatusHeartbeat in PLAYING-TRACKWAIT -> Slim::Player::StreamingController::_CheckSync [19-03-13 14:53:33.0062] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_eventAction (273) b8:27:eb:fd:ab:5a: StatusHeartbeat in PLAYING-TRACKWAIT -> Slim::Player::StreamingController::_CheckSync [19-03-13 14:53:34.0069] Slim::Player::StreamingController::playerStopped (2157) b8:27:eb:fd:ab:5a [19-03-13 14:53:34.0073] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_eventAction (273) b8:27:eb:fd:ab:5a: Stopped in PLAYING-TRACKWAIT -> Slim::Player::StreamingController::_PlayIfReady [19-03-13 14:53:34.0075] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_setPlayingState (2357) new playing state STOPPED [19-03-13 14:53:34.0078] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_eventAction (303) b8:27:eb:fd:ab:5a: Stopped - new state STOPPED-TRACKWAIT [19-03-13 14:53:35.0039] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_eventAction (273) b8:27:eb:fd:ab:5a: StatusHeartbeat in STOPPED-TRACKWAIT -> Slim::Player::StreamingController::_NoOp == bunch of same log entries here [19-03-13 14:58:17.0068] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_eventAction (273) b8:27:eb:fd:ab:5a: StatusHeartbeat in STOPPED-TRACKWAIT -> Slim::Player::StreamingController::_NoOp [19-03-13 14:58:22.0053] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_eventAction (273) b8:27:eb:fd:ab:5a: StatusHeartbeat in STOPPED-TRACKWAIT -> Slim::Player::StreamingController::_NoOp [19-03-13 14:58:26.0068] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_eventAction (273) b8:27:eb:fd:ab:5a: StatusHeartbeat in STOPPED-TRACKWAIT -> Slim::Player::StreamingController::_NoOp 2019-03-13 14:58:27 squeezeboxserver_safe stopped. this is when I restarted LMS manually 2019-03-13 14:58:27 squeezeboxserver_safe started. i'm on pCP 3.5.0 with LMS 7.9.2. suddenly this morning, Spotty stops after each song and I have to manually start it again. from the sound of it, it plays split second of the next song and then stops. any idea what's causing this? pavowren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51958 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109028 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
"oddly" is for sure. just now, Android Spotify showed the device at the bottom bar as the active device. as stated, it normally does not do this. per your comment, i tried a complete re-install and there's no device at the bottom bar, just in the settings... what is pCP? i now do the "shutdown" command before powering off. but the volume upon boot, it's always back to 50. pavowren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51958 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108898 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Let me clarify: Android Spotify app does show the device if i dive into the settings/devices; it just is not aware that something is playing on the device. Whereas Windows Spotify always knows correctly. Somewhat related question: When I start up the RPi and start Spotty, the volume is always at 50. Who determines this? and is there a way for it to recall the last setting? pavowren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51958 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108898 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Windows Spotify app shows the device however, so i'm not sure what is up (or down) with android version. in any case, thanks michael for providing Spotty! it really serves a need. pavowren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51958 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108898 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
hello, once in a while when i start up my RaspberryPi (running max2play), the spotify device is missing. this morning i happen to be browsing the LMS settings and noticed that on the advanced settings page, the device was "unchecked" for Spotify Connect. as soon as i checked it and applied, the device showed up immediately. so the question is: how did that get unchecked on its own? i sure did not. any ideas? pavowren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51958 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108898 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.0.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
hello, i'm running Spotty under max2play on RPi, all the latest software. the Connect device shows in the SqzLite controller app, Orange Squeeze; and only after i select the device there, does it show up elsewhere like Spotify app itself. i do have the following Spotty option un-checked: Don't announce Squeezebox players running in Spotify Connect mode in your network it's just that i don't want to have to take that extra step of Orange Squeeze. upon boot, i expect to see the Connect device in Spotify app directly. please advise... pavowren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51958 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108561 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hopefully I'll have a fix, > soon... hello from an old SBox user now on RPi running max2play with LMS/Spotty... i have a bit more info for you to chew on: 1) i tried to un-check the option "Don't announce Squeezebox players" but it will not stick. why wouldn't i want to announce all connect players? once when it seemed to stick, the device showed up. 2) "max2play" device is fleeting in appearance. my own android and windows apps (which uses spotify web api) see it the most. Spotify's own apps do not; did yesterday. 3) android app, OrangeSqueeze, can always see "max2play" since it is not using spotify api as far as i know. it's just a controller for the SqzLite player inside RPi. 4) at one point, i had two spotify sessions streaming (i only one premium account, not a family). one on max2play and another on the desktop. how is that possible? my best guess at this point is Spotify is messing with servers and updates... just a week or so ago, suddenly the ProgressTime was being reported as 0. then after 2 days, it works again. of course, this wasn't the first time something wacky happens at their end. pavowren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51958 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108898 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Annouce: Squeeze Control, a squeezebox remote app, is now available for Android
this app is faster than the rest but upon further testing, there is a consistent crash. i use Mog almost exclusively, so i end up queuing up a bunch of songs and looking at the current queue. if i select a song and bring up the context menu and select the Album... option, app crashes. hope the goat will fix this. pavowren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51958 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96757 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Annouce: Squeeze Control, a squeezebox remote app, is now available for Android
i've now tried all available controller apps including commander, orange, and logitech's own. each has +'s and -'s. all are fairly robust and do not crash, always a good sign of a good program. commander's biggest strength is in its handling of large lists such as a list of 700 songs or albums. when scrolling, it offers that fast icon allowing you to move up and down very efficiently and most importantly, it remembers the last position so that when you return after queuing up a track or two, you are exactly where you were! this is missing from squeeze control and at its highest price point, it should definitely include this behavior. one important feature to be applauded is the ability to switch music source or server. pavowren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51958 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96757 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
