The replacement squeezelite binary--or binaries considering I put in more than one--went here: Code: ~/Library/Caches/Squeezebox/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/LocalPlayer/Bin They are much bigger than the 2014 binaries which were installed by local player and don't include MP3 codec support. I had to change names to match what local player seems to expect. And there's a chance I bungled and mixed up the 64-bit with the 32-bit, but here is how I changed the names to match: -squeezelite-i386- became -squeezelite-osx-i386- AND -squeezelite-x86_64- became -squeezelite-osx- Each about 2.5MB by the way. A third binary, -squeezelite,-, 5MB I kept -squeezelite-. And I'm pretty sure I didn't need to put in ALL those files, but I don't care. I'm up and playing MP3s...and flac...and WAV, with Local Player on our new/old Mac Pro with Sierra Server! This is fantastic! would it be possible to give exact path for the squeezelite-osx binary (as you did for the old lame in PreferencePanes)? My Spotlight isn't finding it and it seems I'm easily confused, maybe something to do with squeezelite vs squeezelite + local player...or maybe it's within the same PreferencePanes path? I end up with a small unix-executable, "lame". I put it in this folder, ~/Library/Caches/Squeezebox/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/LocalPlayer/Bin I did this because of what @triode wrote elsewhere, -"I'm being cautious about mp3 codecs and not including them in the shipped binary - there should be instructions in the zip of where to get the compatible decoder library, just put it in the same place as the squeezelite binary." - So now that lame executable it sits next to libFLAC.8.dylib, squeezelite-osx, and squeezelite-osx-i386. It seems to have read-write-exec all enabled for everyone. But when I restart LMS, and attempt to play an MP3 with localplayer, I get the same error. radiowonderland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=61974 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97766 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.9.0 - now with experimental Spotify Connect support!
Hi, I've been looking on the relevant threads, but i'm still in the dark about this. My LMS is 7.8.1 on OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on Mac Pro 2006 Mac Dual-Core Intel Xeon 2.66GHz Given the following, is there some clear info out there about compatibility, for Mac, LMS version architecture, etc.? Spotty does indeed fail; more details on request of course! Many thanks: -"I'm sorry, but your processor architecture or operating system most likely is not compatible with Spotty. You can still give it a try. But don't be surprised if it fails... Operating system: Mac OS X Server 10.6.8 / x86_64 Helper Applications Folder: Information is not avaialable. Please update Logitech Media Server to 7.7.6 or more recent."- radiowonderland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=61974 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108030 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
