Thanks, I stumbled on this a bit cold , anyhow . I'm running LMS on
synology Ds214

I updated to LMS 7.9.0 and added the YouTube plugin from triode and
Phillips. (The LMS update is available from pinkdot)

Next got an yputude api public server key from Google developers site
and entered the key into LMS, settings, YouTube

Your pluging works great . Many thanks

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Information Screen (a configurable screen saver)

2010-02-23 Thread waldy

Hi, I like to use the duet controller as a info stick, so the mail
plugin is fab. Things that will make it even better :) in order of
preference

mail appears on the controller in reverse order, so the latest mail
is off screen. Can the order be reversed. There is a vertical scroll
but as its a screensaver, can't scroll.

Can't seem to disable the custom clock. Un Clicking all 'show in
state' makes no difference.

It would be great if mail used full width of the screen. currently
uses ab out 2/3 on the rhs

cheers best wishes

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Wave Input plugin feature request

2008-09-16 Thread waldy

Hi, many thanks for this. installed worked first time! quite some
contrast with the shoutcast solution.

Seems an odd request as some have sought to reduce latency. I wish to
control the delay before o/p to squeezebox from say minimum to 20
seconds.

I quite often watch German Eurosport for tennis or slingbox listen to
radio commentry on the sporting event. Be great to sync the two if
possible with a slider on waveinput plugin options.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Test match Special plugin Cricket new version

2006-12-11 Thread waldy

Hi,

I've updated this plugin for the upcoming Test Match on Thursday at the
Waca.

Changes include:

Wicket detection. When a wicket is taken, sb display lines switch,
showing the out batsman's stats for a couple of minutes on the bottom
line.

Reduced polling score to one in 20secs

Shows state of play: In play, lunch tea etc

Additional code to parse innings totals plugin web interface to show
all/ selected international cricket scores. I've included the code
for webPages etc, but still need to write index.html to give a simple
combi pull down box of say a dozen teams, so that the selected team is
fed back to the plugin. Any offers to write this to make this an
International plugin?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Ashes edition Test Match Special plugin

2006-11-23 Thread waldy
Hi,

I've rewritten my Cricket plugin which will post latest Ashes cricket score
on your squeezebox.
It's now a screensaver, so instructions for installation are:

Download TMS.pm install into slimserver plugins folder
Restart slimserver.
Select Test Match Special as the screensaver from the web interface.

New features include:

works only in screensaver mode
Now detects wicket, currently only displays 'wicket taken' when this
happens for 3 mins, but scope is to provide out batsman info more when I
have time.

Please beware because of the rewrite, this is a prototype, so try it out
let me know if you have any problems. We're a little bit at he mercy of BBC
invision score updates on the web which are generally fast reliable, but
not always.

Available from:

[SlimDevices: Plugins] fao John Entwistle

2006-11-22 Thread waldy
Hi John,

I've enclose a rewrite of my cricket plugin for squeezebox as promised.
Still needs some work, but just wanted to concentrate on making it robust
as simple as poss.

Basically works in the same way as your Football plugin for installing
setting in screensaver settings (it should do anyhow, some of your code
was copied!)

Let me know how you get on (don't lose any sleep though!) before I release
it to the newsgroup.

ps should detect when a wicket falls now, currently a 3 minute message will
appear if a wicket is detected, if all works well I'll parse back display
fall of batsman details instead.

Enjoy the cricket best wishes

Hi John,

Nice work! I've used your plugin on suse linux 10.1 slim 6.50 it works
as described. Only thing I notices was a bit weird, it abbreviated
premiership teams names but not some others. (didn't look for long
yesterday, but some teams abbreviated some not)

I'd like to revamp my cricket plugin for the upcoming ashes tour lift some
of you code if I may. Like yourself I was a newbie when I wrote my plugin
borrowed some code then. Not much more perl since then so I see how far I
get.

If you like I send you a first draft when I get something together, its a
bit difficult to test without bbc invision cricket scores, but I'll see
what I can do.

message for dc11ab,

^M at the start of lines indicates an endof line conversion problem. Maybe
a windows/linux thing. Way I get plugins is to download to my windows
laptop, then ftp to my linux server (or download id direct to your linux
box) Check owner is slimserver user you can double check by opening your
plugin with your favourite command line editor (eg vi or emacs). Shouldn't
see any ^M then.

Hi Neil all,

You were right I think, I made a pig's ear of the installation. However it

Installation of alienbbc was straightforward worked first time. I like
very much the skip facility. As easy quick to use from the remote as the
web interface. Seems to work faultlessly so far. With the new version of

playing info to nothing in player settings. If I press the ff button, the
top line changes to 'now playing (1 if 1)', nothing else happens, the
stream carries on as before.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Re: MusicInfoSCR and Internet Radio

2006-01-23 Thread waldy
Hi Michael,

Yes but, I think it would be nice to see the radio station thats playing
the current track/ artist without affecting the regular music display.
I'd reckon these two bits of info from the stream are the only ones of
interest to display.

Logistically it should fit well in you current radio station drop down box.
So options could be: display playlist name, station / playlist, playlist
/ station, so eg in the 2nd option the stream name would appear top left
playlist bottom left.

Of course, this is just a suggestion if you feel this is inappropriate
I'd understand.

Hi Michael,

sorry, should have been more specific. I play quite a few radio
streams would be real nice to glance and see the stream name and
current song/artist at the same time, stream name on top line,
song/artist on bottom.

Michael,

Are you talking about the QuickAccess plugin or the built-in Favorites?
What happens if you use the latter?

I use the built in favourites

For Radio Paradise, too? What server version are you using? What are the
MusicInfoSCR settings?

Yes, for the 3 streams I've tried:Radio Paradise, Grassy Hill Radio
LiveIreland the results are the same

Im using SlimServer Version: 6.2.2 - 5295 - Linux (Fedora 2)

Settings for MusicInfoSCR
Top Left album, Top right PLAYTIME, Bottom Left TITLE (ARTIST) Huge Font
Title, show icons for r/s top right, Jump back on wake on, display
playlist on

Hi Max,

Should have run debug on this earlier (sorry). Think it might be the way

Hi thanks,

My codecs are in /usr/local/lib/codecs I did a chmod 777 * so should be
accessable. Mplayer can play streams from the command line

mplayer -vo null -cache 128 -af volume=4:sc,resample=44100:0:1 -playlist
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/realplayer/media/fmg2.rpm. Radio 4 plays loud
clear.

however from alienBBC I get the same error on debug. The only thing I can
think at the moment is that I've been using the codecs from pre6 release
(the mplayer website is down at the moment), have they changed?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] alienBBC 0.98 no sound mplayer pre7

2005-10-12 Thread waldy
Hi, been using alienbbc with mplayer pre6 for a while now. Decided to try
to help with the reporting of the live streams fix and after a time I've
compiled a new version of mplayer version pre7 with streaming fix.

This plays BBC streams fine from the command line using mplayer, however
not from the
squeezebox. AlienBBC plugin looks fine from the sb display. I've supplied
the output of slimserver in debug mode.
I have edited the slimserver-convert.conf for pre7 version. Have I missed
anything?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] controlling softsqueeze squeezebox with an Ericsson mobile

2005-08-18 Thread waldy
Hi,

Is there a way to remote softsqueeze squeezebox with an Ericsson K700i
phone? I've looked at Salling which looks great but only works with a mac.
Jules' bemused bridge seems to support symbian phones, UIQ but not the
mobile?.

Anyone achieved this? My ideas are to use bluetooth's HID capability for
basic control, ie send key shortcuts to softsqueeze running on a linux box
with the phone, perhaps using quickaccess plugin to play selected
playlists. Not sure about squeezebox though (not as important as the
softsqueeze is running in the loft.

Any thoughts or previous solutions would be greatly appreciated.
