Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] LastMix - Another mixer to feedDon't Stop The Music
That's a good point! This option dates back to when all "My Music" was local files. Nowadays it can be online tracks, too. I should probably rename the option, or fix the feature to really only play local tracks. Haha!... I just checked this and saw it said "my music only". Hmm... then figured out: I had changed this more than a year ago - but never released this name change. I'll do a quick 2.0.1 release to change the wording. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] LastMix - Another mixer to feedDon't Stop The Music
How do I set DSTM/Last Mix to offer Qobuz as an option? It's not on my list just last FM??? Thanks. LastMix would automatically use Qobuz (and many other streaming services - if configured) when mixing. There's no setting for this. Unless you use the "LastMix - local tracks only". ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] LastMix - Another mixer to feedDon't Stop The Music
When you choose - LastMix (local files only) - it seems it doesn’t actually work on local files only if you have Online Music Library Integration enabled. It actually seems to mean tracks in your library including those from online services but not otherwise from online sources. That's a good point! This option dates back to when all "My Music" was local files. Nowadays it can be online tracks, too. I should probably rename the option, or fix the feature to really only play local tracks. Resurrecting this to make an observation When you choose - LastMix (local files only) - it seems it doesnt actually work on local files only if you have Online Music Library Integration enabled. It actually seems to mean tracks in your library including those from online services but not otherwise from online sources. This is NOT a criticism as that is exactly how I want it to work. Just an observation as it may catch others out. Perhaps a change to the label if / when other work is being done in this plugin. I don't know perl but I looked at your plugin code and couldn't see it using the lastfm user that is registered to scrobble, but I wasn't sure. That's correct. There's no need for your username, as these calls aren't based on your "collection", but the overall data they have. As to API calls beyond scrobbling I am not sure, but think not likely. The dev has been very receptive to my requests for changes though. It wouldn't be easy to implement those features, as they require a lot of data. How would you figure out the most important tracks of an artist? You need to know what people listen to. Only using your own dataset might be very limiting, and you'd end up listening to always the same tracks, as you'd make your favorite tracks even more popular by playing them as the most popular tracks etc. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I am using "Don't stop the music using last.fm That would pick five random tracks from the current playlist, then ask Last.fm's track.getSimilar endpoint (https://www.last.fm/api/show/track.getSimilar) to return similar tracks. Then it would try to find those tracks in your music library or subscribed music services. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] LastMix - Another mixer to feedDon't Stop The Music
Would love to see some logics to avoid stuff like that ;) Do you think TBH I am almost surprised by how simplistic I implemented this: it's only comparing URLs. Therefore yes, if you have the same song on two different albums, you might end up with duplicate songs. I'll have to review that. it's possible to add an option like "don't play songs played in the last X days" like it was in the smartmix plugin? I don't want to go there. But it shouldn't repeat the same song within one session. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] LastMix - Another mixer to feedDon't Stop The Music
He Michael! Thanks for your plugin, I've been using it for several months now without any technical problems. Right now I'm using 1.1.5 with the local music only option. What happened several times now: - The same song was added twice in a row! Possible that it was different versions but at least artist and title were exactly the same. - Songs from the original playlist were added again. So I have an album with 10 songs. LastMix automatically adds two new songs and after that random tracks from the same album again. After four more other songs there is one already played song again. Would love to see some logics to avoid stuff like that ;) Do you think it's possible to add an option like "don't play songs played in the last X days" like it was in the smartmix plugin? onkelandy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64477 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105915 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] LastMix - Another mixer to feedDon't Stop The Music
Hello, I'm really enjoying the plugin since I discovered it today :) Unfortunately for you Michael... using LastFM give me so much ideas, that could be added to make it more fun and more powerful :D Of course, like smartmix in the past, a way to modify the recipes should be given in your exciting plugin !! (but you probably already knew it !) Let's imagine that you make a party with friends, and thous friends (or some of them) have a lastFM account too. A "Present Friends Mode" might be a nice idea, no ? The LastFM username of each friends present could be added to the recipe, and the playlist could be populated with prefered artists and/or tracks of each friend automatically. LastFM API should allow it : user.getTopArtists / User.getTopTracks Long Life to LastMix (and LastFM). Is it changing/updating the recipe actively over added tracks? If yes, can we please fix it with first set of our playlist and assure that we stay on same mood? There just was a similar question over in the Don't Stop The Music thread. DSTM would pick a number of random tracks from the current playlist. I've been using Lastmix for a few weeks now, and just love it. However, when I leave it running for extended periods of time, the server just stops - as in shows "stopped" in the tray control panel. The reason I posted here is that Lastmix (and the version of 7.9 that supports it) are the only system changes in a long while, so I guess I'm wondering if it's implicated. I've set the last.fm autoscrobbler and lastmix logging to debug, so I'll do my homework before posting back. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] LastMix - Another mixer to feedDon't Stop The Music
LastMix is generally giving me very good results now. Just one question Michael. How far back in the playlist does last mix go? All the way. It (actually: the DSTM plugin) picks five random tracks from your playlist. I ask because a couple of days ago I was using a particular player and listening to some Bowie. I used the same player today but chose to listen to some Prog Rock. I didn't clear what was left of the Bowie playlist I just hit Play on my chosen album. Being Prog Rock it only had a few tracks. LastMix gave me some more Prog Rock but also another Bowie track. Should I have cleared the Bowie playlist? If you really don't want them to be included, then yes. You could actually risk to get a Bowie only mix, if the randomness was picking all seeds from that part of the list. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] LastMix - Another mixer to feedDon't Stop The Music
Michael, I'm really, really liking Lastmix. it's integrating well with my large library, and also pulling in a good sampling of Deezer tracks. What specifically impresses me is the appropriateness of many of its choices. For instance: With the Echonest Smartmix, if I played Talk Talk's -Laughing Stock- as a seed, it'd respond by mixing up a bunch of random 80s pop, which was extremely jarring after listening to the sparse, ethereal album. Lastmix, on the other hand, mixes in a bunch of strange, sparse music that's WAY more appropriate to the seed. Let's hope this good stuff continues. doctor_big's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15196 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105915 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] LastMix - Another mixer to feedDon't Stop The Music
@mherger, I've activated DSTM and set it to use Spotify Recommendations, and does play forever, but the mix is random as far as I can tell. It roams from Elton John to Metallica and back to Frank Sinatra and then to Abba and so on. There doesn't seem to be any logic in that. So I was pleased when I read about Lastmix, but I can't find it anywhere in the DSTM option list. Do I have to do something to get it updated?
