I created 3 Screensavers for the Touch Controller and Radio to be used with Superdatetime (developed for the Wunderground version, works most probably also with the Weather.com version. - All screensavers show the low / high temparature (celsius) and probability of precipitation for the today, and the next three days - Current temperature, today's forecast as short text, date and time are displayed as well - Radio and Touch show alarm clock time if set - Touch shows wind speed in Km/h - Touch shows 12h and 24h forecast as icons - all show 36 and 48h forecast as animation - Radio and controller show 12h and 24h forecast as animation Feel free to improve and share further. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New WeatherTime Screensaver adds graphical forecasts
Those TXT files are screen layouts. If you go to the LMS web UI > Settings > Advanced > Custom Clock Helper, you can select "Clock styles" > "Style: Import..." and paste in the contents of one of the TXT files. It will save as the "name" identified at the top of the TXT file. Now you can switch to that Custom Clock. Switching from Fahrenheit to Celsius is a matter of editing the TXT file; for instance "%t" is current temp in Fahrenheit, "%T" is Celsius. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New WeatherTime Screensaver adds graphical forecasts
SDT has 2 different settings pages. Sample pics attached. One at the system level and one at the player level. Your weather location identifier needs to entered on the system settings page. For legacy players like the Transport, Boom, Classic etc. you will also need to adjust settings at the player level to select what you want displayed. For Touch and Radio players, Custom Clock applet and Custom Clock Helper plugin are needed. The weather.com variant of SDT retrieves current weather data and full forecast information from weather.com. Optionally, it can also retrieve current weather information (not forecasts) from wunderground.com. Most if not all of the existing custom clock screens that have been created will use weather.com data. These can be tweaked to pull wunderground data by changing the macro variable to be displayed. The possible macro variables are shown on the settings screen at the player level. If you are having difficulty getting weather information to display it is likely your location identifier or language selection isn't valid for weather.com. They both get plugged into the URL and if they are not right they will be rejected. You can set SDT logging to INFO and check the server.log file to confirm the URLs are properly formed and accepted by weather.com. For more details and help you should view the forum thread for SuperDateTime. https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?14327-Announce-SuperDateTime-Current-Date-Temperature-and-or-Baseball-Screensaver Hope this helps. +---+ |Filename: Player Settings.JPG | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=25271| +---+ BoomX2's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33529 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=21989 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

They're as far as I know no longer maintained by their original developers. but still very usable... The repo is as it is. I can't guarantee the plugins will still work next year when for example an API changes, but as I use them myself I'll try to fix them if I can. I have had the exact same problem - starting sometime in the last few days. However, subsequent to some vigorous messing, i believe i have fixed it for myself. What i did was this: 1) Set my citycode to CYUL (as someone above suggested) and hit apply 2) Powered off/on my SB3 from the web interface (this then displays the correct Montreal weather info) 3) Set my citycode back to EGNT and hit apply 4) Powered off/on my SB3 from the web interface - Voila! My local weather is displayed again :-) Can any of you suffering the same fault verify if this fixes it for you? Obviously replace my EGNT with your local citycode... Perhaps this was/is a local cached data file issue - seem to remember something similar with SuperDateTime in the past. That was my first thought as well, but that API message appears to have been there for at least a couple of years judging by the earlier posts. It also wouldn't explain why it works with non-UK locations (which also show the same warning) and how pulling the same information into a browser would work when they both access the same xml feed at the same address. I'm at a loss and am temporarily using SuperDateTime on my SB3, although I prefer WeatherTime for its forecasting ability. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New WeatherTime Screensaver adds graphical forecasts
My weather app here in the U.S. is still working...for now... It's getting a little flaky lately, though. The weather icons that would blink back and forth between two pictures now blink back and forth between one picture and a blank space. With this, the loss of Youtube functionality, my radio stations that randomly stop and start, etc, I think the whole SBR thing is just becoming an unreliable piece of crap. Even more than usual. My hardware is fine, so I'm placing the blame on Logitech not doing their part on their end and maintaining the server properly. Maybe not so much for the 3rd part apps, but at least for the damned radio stations which should WORK. buffettck's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=50355 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=21989 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

When I fetch the data manually then there are hints that point to a new API which requires an API key. Maybe those hints prevent the plugin from displaying the weather. What we need is an re-written plugin. I'd donate some money. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New WeatherTime Screensaver adds graphical forecasts
Yes, this one works too. In the meantime I experimented with things like NYC and they were fine. For some reason, the Dorval international airport code (CYUL) is not recognized anymore. I managed to find a local (and closer to me) weather station and entered that code and it worked fine. It's probably a temporary bug that CYUL isn't recognized anymore. Until that interface is finally deprecated for good. For reference, here's the URL I extracted out of the plugin: http://api.wunderground.com/auto/wui/geo/ForecastXML/index.xml?query=KOQT Simply replace KOQT by anything else to see if it still works. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New WeatherTime Screensaver adds graphical forecasts
Fantastic, this works! Screwed it up a few times, but got it working. A point of clarification - the current weather is separate from the forecast I think. I have left the same settings for forecast - does it use city name or code to get the forecast, do you know? For example, my city is Reading, UK, but I have to use an airport (EGLL), which is a good few miles away. Lastly, do you know how different town names are determined? e.g. there a few 'Readings' around the world. Hello. I am running SqueezeBox Server Version: 7.5.1 - r30836 and Weather, Date and Time plugin version 2.2.2. Withe the following settings I am seeing truncation of the time when it is a two digit hour (eg 11:00 pm shows at 11:0). Also the text Tomorrow above the time is truncated to TOMO and lastly the start screen only shows WeatherUndergro instead fo WeatherUnderground. It seemed to me that the entier plugin is rendering for wider display than the Boom has. -Scott Weather Unites: Imperial Units City: Stillwater, OK Wunderground.com Citycode: swo Fetch Interval: 1800 Time/Date Format: No date(time only) Date Format: DD MMM Third line: Precipitation chance Wind info units: Miles per hour. -- wiseman13 wiseman13's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34773 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=21989 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New WeatherTime Screensaver adds graphical forecasts
Has anybody noticed that when running 7.5.0 and WeatherTime cannot retrieve the weather that it causes long dropouts (~30 seconds) in the audio that is being played back? I noticed this when I first installed 7.5.0 and loaded up this plugin. Then the problem went away after I did some other things (clear cache, uninstall old, install clean, etc.). Then, last week there was a day where my ISP was down and the problem came back. I recalled that when I last had the problem that my weather wasn't working (? on the screen), so I disabled the plugin and the problem went away. Still hasn't come back after pretty heavy usage. For now I've disabled the plugin because uninterrupted playback of my music is more important than having weather on my SB3s. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New WeatherTime Screensaver adds graphical forecasts
Guys/Gals, I know I should be searching the thread, I'm lazy. What can be done to have the plugin work on the Boom ? Is it a matter of packing smaller icons as custom characters ? Of adding player type detection (to use the big icons on SB3s) ? What about the asyncHTTP thing ? I miss WeatherTime on my Boom, really. The Boom wakes me up in the morning, having weather info on the screen would be just great.
