Just updated the main plugin release to include this so you should be able to update to version 1.1.8 of the released version in a few minutes and still have this working. -- Triode Triode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74139 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi Triode, just dug back through my old posts on here, and found this one: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=345838&postcount=35 does that seem like a reasonable solution, maybe suitable for inclusion in your code? Hi Triode, just removed the proxy setting, and can confirm that I'm now listening to one of today's earlier proms in AAC and it's sounding great! I can't remember if there's any reason why I still need a proxy configured, although I have a niggling feeling there is some reason, so if you are able to make the plugin work with the proxy configured it would be useful. thanks Matt -- MattC MattC's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4127 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74139 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi Triode, I have a direct ADSL connection to the internet. There is a (squid) proxy running on the same server as squeezecenter and squeezecenter is configured to use that proxy in the place where you specify a proxy, but my outbound internet access is not filtered in any way, and the proxy is not running in transparent mode or anything like that. Thats suggesting it is not connecting direct to an rtmp server. Do you have some forms of proxy or something else in the way? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer plugin appears to have stopped working for me....
RTMP is not RTSP - DESCRIBE is part of RTSP which was part of the protocol used with RealAudio. Triode knows the RTMP protocol as he implemented it. There are small differences in stream settings (e.g. speed) between a user inside the UK and outside the UK but BBCiPlayer has been tested in both regions (Triode in the UK, bpa outside the UK) so geo-ip stuff shouldn't matter. RTMP opens other ports to start a stream - have you tested with squid turned off ? You used to make a mod to SBS to support a proxy - is the mod still there ? -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74139 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I've tried something like DESCRIBE rtmp://streamurl RTMP/1.0 and I get nothing back. I seem to get nothing back at all, the server just appears to close the connection after I enter any command, with no error reported. > What is the host OS ? debian linux. no iptables rules. there's a squid proxy running on there for http, but I can't see that should [a|e]ffect this? FWIW I've seen this happen with various different hosts in the rtmp:// url. have we any idea what geo-IP database the bbc use - is the behaviour I'm seeing the same as would be for a non UK connection attempt? or do those connections actually fail at the TCP connect stage? thanks for your help Matt -- MattC MattC's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4127 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74139 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer plugin appears to have stopped working for me....
Assuming the RTMP protocol is the same, the only explanation I can think if is something is interfering with the protocol stream such as security s/w or possibly some form of proxy. What is the host OS ? Any security s/w or proxy or something else that intercepts the protocol stream between SBS player and BBC ? -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74139 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer plugin appears to have stopped working for me....
Have you tried setting the "prefer wma" option in the settings web page for the plugin? This will stop it using the rtmp streams. I don't understand the debug it suggests the server you are connecting to is not an rtmp server or it implements the protocol differently from me! The error says the response received from the server was not what was expected. -- Triode Triode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74139 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Recently the BBC have had problems on their internet feeds (see http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbiplayer/F13735684 ) . Since your install was working and then suddenly stopped - I would tend to believe the problem is at BBC end. Caching may be making the problem persist on your SBS even though the web version works. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74139 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
