I just enabled debug logging on "plugin.customscan" in Squeezebox
Server Settings/Advanced/Logging.

Thanks, that worked perfectly. What tool you used to inspect the tags? The
tools I tried told all the tags to be CONTENTGROUP.

There seems to be a tag scanned as "GRP" in your files which contains
"Piano" and "Violin", is this what you have in the CONTENTGROUP tag ?

If it is, it should work if you configure Custom Scan to scan the tag:
GRP

If you really want it to show up as CONTENTGROUP you can instead in the
"Tag Mapping" attribute put something like:

Code:

  CONTENTGROUP=oneof GRP

Ok, cheers. I had a problem that my mail client shows my message in drafts even
though I've sent it.

I have no idea how alac files works, if you provide me with a small
alac file that isn't scanned correctly I can take a look at it.

Actually, now looking closely seems that most of the alac encoded files are not
shown via custom scan. Should this work or are mp3's only compatible?

Thanks, that seems to be working, even with alac and aac files, so it's not
strictly MP3 I guess? Anyway, thanks. I'll get back to you if I see any

You can try if it works if you check the "Use raw MP3 tags" option in
Custom Scan on the Custom Tag scanning module settings page.

If that doesn't help, send a file with this tag to me and I'll take a
look at it, mail it to: erland_i at hotmail.com

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Scan not working

2010-02-07 Thread Perttu Aaltonen
Hi!

I'm trying to scan CONTENTGROUP tag with Custom Scan plugin, I think I did
everything as in the examples in the wiki but for some reason the tag isn't
read.

My setup:

Mac OS X 10.6.2
Squeezebox Server 7.4.1
Custom Scan plugin installed via Squeezebox Server plugin management
Menu made with Custom Browse plugin
Squeezebox Server reads from iTunes

Could the iTunes integration be the cause here? Should Custom Scan work with
iTunes? I made a Custom Scan Info menu with Custom Browse to see what tags are
read but only the builtin tags are shown there?

Thanks for any tips how to investigate this,
