Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Extension Downloader woes again
i had a weird issue when i went to the list, took the check mark off of "napster," applied the change, and got the message to restart SBS. i haven't done so yet however napster is no longer listed anywhere, active or inactive. pretty confusing. i am assuming on SBS restart it will be in inactive. -- MrSinatra www.lion-radio.org using: sb2 & sbc (my home) / sbr (parent's home) - w/sc 7.4.1b - win xp pro sp3 ie8 - 3.2ghz / 2gig ram - 1tb wd usb2 raid1 - d-link dir-655 MrSinatra's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69247 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Extension Downloader woes again
I just had an issue with my TrackStat being stuck at v2.8 and not upgrading. I tracked it down to a manual install of TrackStat (when I was testing the fix about ratings not being applied to titles with a ' in) which was stopping 2.9.1 being applied. After removing the manual install everything is fine again HTH CW -- Chunkywizard *Squeezebox:* Boom x2 (Lounge and Kitchen) *Squeezecenter:* 7.4.0 for Windows Home Server (HP EX-475 MediaSmart Server with 2GB RAM upgrade) *Plugins:* Dynamic Playlists 2.8 | SQL Playlist 2.5 | Music Information Screen 4.42 | Custom Scan 2.7 | TrackStat 2.9 *Remote:* iPod Touch Gen. 1 running 'iPeng' (http://penguinlovesmusic.de/2008/11/25/ipeng-application-now-on-app-store/) Chunkywizard's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=25868 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69247 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Extension Downloader woes again
>It seems like for new plugin installations Extension Downloader always >picks the plugin from the manually configured repository. Thanks Erland. Although it was only offering me the beta versions from the test repository, after endless restarts, it did list the plugins without *Beta* in the names when the plugins were active. Does this indicate that it actually installed the latest versions from the main repositories instead? Anyway, I did as you suggested and uninstalled all your plugins, restarted, and then ticked to install all your plugins again, but from Recommended and Other sections. Upon restart, I got a similar effect as before, where it reports that plugin updates are available, only this time it says it's installed most of the plugins, except for Database Query. I did another restart, and it then installed Database Query and didn't report any more plugin update messages. Is this expected, or another bug that I should raise? I'm thinking that maybe its some dependency order thing - perhaps it can't install Database Query for example until another plugin has already been installed. It's confusing: - that it says "Plugin updates are available" whereas in fact there aren't any and it hasn't installed something that I asked it to do. - that when visiting the Plugins page it says that it has installed updates and needs a reboot, but I have auto updates disabled. This was much smoother than yesterday when I tried it, only requiring 2 restarts in total to install all of the plugins. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Extension Downloader woes again
It's a bug in Extension Downloader: https://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=14657 It seems like for new plugin installations Extension Downloader always picks the plugin from the manually configured repository. I've removed the old *Beta* versions from the testing repository so if you uninstall all my plugins and open up the "Plugins" tab after the restart you shouldn't see any beta versions besides the "MythTV" and "Mail" plugins which still are beta. The other plugins should be available under the "recommended" or "other" lists and you should be able to install them, this includes Dynamic Playlist 2.8.1 which should solve your Song Info problem. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) (Install my plugins through Extension Downloader) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69247 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Extension Downloader woes again
>You shouldn't even see the TrackStat beta since there is a newer non >beta 2.9 version which should be shown instead. After several restarts, it eventually seems to have installed the newer 2.9.1. Not sure what repository it pulled it from, or why I needed to restart so many times, but I seem to have it installed okay now through ED. However, I still have the problem with Song Info WebUI page not working with both DynamicPlaylist and SQL Playlist installed. The exercise of trying to switch to ED for plugins that ED offers was to ensure I had the latest. It doesn't give me a lot of confidence that the latest is installed, so perhaps you could confirm that the versions I currently have are the latest available: Dynamic Playlists = v2.8 SQL Playlist = v2.5 Have you tried them with SbS v7.5.0? I just tried uninstalling CustomBrowse *Beta*, Custom Scan *Beta*, Multi Library *Beta* and Playlist Generator *Beta*, and reinstalling using ED, but after a restart they weren't installed. Further, SQL Playlist *Beta* was uninstalled. So, I selected all those plugins again and applied the change to install them, and rebooted the server. SbS reported that "Plugin updates are available". Having opened Settings > Plugins, it reported that I needed to restart to apply changes (note Update plugins automatically is unticked). I could see that those plugins had been installed except Custom Browse *Beta*, which had still not been installed, and no installed plugins were indicated as having updates available. I tried to install Custom Browse *Beta* again, and it restarted, and now that one seems to have been listed as Active, so I think I'm finally there with all your beta plugin versions installed with ED. Some other 3rd party plugins don't seem to be offered for SbS 7.5.0 - I guess there's a maxVersion check on the repository, so I still need manual installation for many plugins anyway. eg. MusicInfoSCR plugin isn't listed as available in ED under SbS 7.5.0, but I installed the latest version manually and it seems to work. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Extension Downloader woes again
Hmm, having restarted the server and got the "You must restart the server to apply changes" and seeing that my plugins I had just selected for install were still listed as plugins available for installation, I assumed it wasn't going to work and reinstalled them manually. Then upon restart, I saw that SbS did then install a couple of the plugins that I had selected for installation, but then got another "You must restart the server to apply changes". So I did, and then another plugin got installed. However, I had by this point installed them manually, so ED shouldn't have installed them again? Does ED not install all of them in one go, or is it that there are dependencies between some plugins that it can only install some and then a reboot is needed for the others? ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Extension Downloader woes again
I tried installing some of Erlands plugins, such as CustomBrowse, from his beta test repository. The plugin was listed as available for installation, but upon restart, Extension Downloader said another restart was necessary to apply changes, which I had not made. I think the issue is that there are likely to be discepancies between the install.xml and version info in the repository xml file? I'll go back to manually installing - ED doesn't work too well for beta testers. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Extension Downloader woes again
Trying to get plugins moved across gradually from manual install to ED, but every time I try to do it I have some kind of issue with ED. The latest one is that every time I restart the server, it tells me "Plugin updates are available", and then when I go into Settings > Plugins, it automatically tells me to restart for changes to take effect, even though I haven't done anything. A restart causes the same effect. I think there were issues in the past whereby if the repository version info doesn't match the install.xml content, this caused ED to think plugin updates were available. I think it could be AlienBBC? The manual version I had installed was 2.6b1-7.3. I removed that and installed via ED, and it's reporting version 2.5-7.3.
