A somewhat-buggy version of Pandora is now available in SlimServer 7
trunk.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Problems with Last FM

2007-06-23 Thread ptorpey

I'm an idiot!

When I ran the command for debugging, I thought I had closed the Slim
Server since I hit control+F4 when in the Slim Server. But I guess
that only shut down IE (which is the interface to Slim Server) and the
actual program was still running in the background. I hadn't noticed
the Perl program running in the system tray.

Anyway, once I REALLY shut down Slim Server and ran the debug command,
I did get all of the info about the loaded Plug-ins in the output.

Now LastFM seems to be working pretty well, although, as Nick pointed
out, there does seem to be some problem with their scrobbling. When I
put a prefered artist into LastFM from Slim Server's settings /
internet radio page, the songs aren't quite in the genre I would
expect. I suppose this is a problem with LastFM and not Slim Server's
plug-in?

Also, is it possible to stream from Pandora in a similar way with any
Slim Server plug-ins?

Thanks all.

How strange!
You should have got a whole load of output like this:

2007-06-23 19:31:14.8727 Requiring Plugins::LastFM::Plugin plugin.
Loaded module: [Plugins::LastFM::Plugin] ok!
2007-06-23 19:31:14.8820 LastFM: Plugin initialised CVS (1.33 )
2007-06-23 19:31:14.8827 Adding LastFM::Plugin to menu: RADIO
2007-06-23 19:31:14.8831 RADIO does not exist. creating...

I'd guess the stations you can't remove are for artists you've recently
listened to? Indeed these can't be removed, although you can set the
number of artists remembered in the SlimScrobbler settings.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Problems with Last FM

2007-06-22 Thread Craig, James \(IT\)
Pete,
Not really sure what the problem could be here.

I would suggest stopping SlimServer and then running the slim.exe
program from the commandline with some debug flags:
Slim.exe --d_plugins --d_startup

Hopefully this will print out some information that shows what the
problem ins.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Problems with Last FM

2007-06-22 Thread ptorpey

As you suggested, I ran the command:

C:\Program Files\SlimServer\server\Slim.exe --d_plugins --d_startup
 logfile

The output I sent was the entire contents of this logfile - I didn't
see anything about plug-ins. Am I supposed to have the SlimServer
software running when I execute this command (I wouldn't think so)?

As I said, these plug-ins appear checked in the SlimServer Settings /
Plug-In page of the web interface, but there are no login fields for
Last FM (although I do see login fields for things like Radio IO which
came as a default).

Is there something Im doing wrong about putting in these plug-ins? I
simply copied the appropriate directories into the SlimServer Plug-ins
directory on my PC and restarted SlimServer.

Thanks for any more suggestions. I have no idea at this point.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Problems with Last FM

2007-06-22 Thread ptorpey

James,

Sometimes miracles happen!

I needed to reboot my PC. After I did, I started SlimServer and,
surprise of surprises, LastFM appeared in my list of Internet radio
stations and all of the expected login and password fields appeared
under the Settings / Plug-in menus. Go figure!

Anyway, there are still some strange things, like when I hit Delete for
some of the types of music which LastFM suggests in the SlimServer page
for playing/played LastFM music types, the items do not go away even
after shutting down and restarting SlimServer. Also, when I stop
SlimServer and run the command you previously suggested, I still get
the same output which I sent in a previous post and it says nothing
about plug-ins. But at least LastFM is working right now through my
Squeezebox running through the PC's SlimServer.

Thanks for your help. I can live with this behavior.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Problems with Last FM

2007-06-21 Thread ptorpey

I installed Last FM + the Scrobler version 0.37.5 by following the
instructions to copy the unzipped folders into the Slim Server Plug-in
directory on my Windows PC.

Going into the Slim Server software on my PC into the Server Settings /
Plug-Ins, I can see that both the Last FM and Scrobbler are checked.
However,

1. Last FM does not appear in my list of Internet radios, and
2. There is no place for entering a user name and/or password in
either the Settings Plug-in page or the Internet radio page of the Slim
Server software.

I closed and restarted the software, but still no luck. Any ideas?

Thanks.
