[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Announce: XMRadio v1.1.1 updated for SS 6.5
Hi there, I am using slimserver on a gentoo box at home, and I use XMMS to connect to the stream at localhost:9000/stream.mp3 This allows me to play music throughout my home. I've installed the latest version of the plugin, but when I am connected to the stream, XM radio will not play. It simply puts the slimserver player in STOP mode. I've tried connecting to the stream with various clients, but I've been unsuccessful in getting the XM Radio streams to actually play. -- dnadeau dnadeau's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9830 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29867 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Hey Joe Bob - I'm also having the same type of problems with an SB3 and a fresh install of SS 6.5 as described previously- it seems to get stuck logging out of XM or sometimes when logging in refreshing the station list. Hey all, I've updated the zip in the original post with fixes for both the hang issue (where the client perpetually displays "Retrieving...") and the "Already logged in as..." issue. For those interested: The hang issue was caused by not "unblocking" the client when a refresh of the login failed. The "Already logged in as..." was caused by an bug in the refresh login code (which also caused the refresh login to fail, causing the client to hang with "Retrieving..."). I've updated the zip in the original post with a fixes which improve the robustness of the plugin. Specifically, the plugin now better handles cases where the client is disconnected from the server, preventing "already logged in through client..." when that client is disconnected. Also added more improvements to improve error handling in the "retrieve station play URL" code. I've tested these changes and this latest version should prove more stable than than the previous version. Hey atlslim, I have experienced this a couple of times myself, but have been unable to reproduce it. (I've only seen it twice and could not reproduce it even with your detailed steps.) I've updated the attachment in the original post which now includes improved error handling in the "retrieve station play URL" code. Hopefully, this will solve the problem. I've also updated the code that determines which client is logged into XM. This should prevent the "already logged in through client..." problem from occurring. This will at least provide a mechanism for resetting the hanging client from the web interface (saving you from having to bounce the server). Also, am I correct in assuming that this version of the plugin works in transcoding mode (since you're using it with an SB1)? It would be nice to know since I haven't been able to test this capability myself. Joe Bob, Here's a problem I'm having w/ the plugin and SB1/SlimServer 6.5.1. I would appreciate your thoughts on this: I login fine and play starts as expected. I don't log out before changing to another music source, then come back to XM later but cannot connect and the "Retrieving station play URL" message stays on the display and the SB doesn't respond to the remote. Select a station or enter a station number in "tune station" 2. Press the right arrow. You should see some text that says, "Go right to add to favorites". 3. Press the right arrow. It's now in your favorites. The display should now say something like, "Favorite #x (Go right to delete)." (Note, you can also press the up or down arrows to see the station name, description, etc.) Note, when you play a station from your favorites, you will automatically be logged into XM online if you are not logged in already. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Announce: XMRadio v1.1.1 updated for SS 6.5
Joe Bob, I'm seeing this output in my log (w/ -d_plugins enabled) every 30 sec or so. Is this expected behavior? 2006-11-22 10:19:36.7915 Plugins::XMRadio::Plugin.addMenu() 2006-11-22 10:19:36.8000 Plugins::XMRadio::Plugin.addMenu() 2006-11-22 10:19:36.8078 Plugins::XMRadio::Plugin.enabled() 2006-11-22 10:19:36.8127 Plugins::XMRadio::Plugin.setupGroup() 2006-11-22 10:19:36.8144 Plugins::XMRadio::Plugin.passwordTemplate() for v6.5 2006-11-22 10:19:36.8158 Plugins::XMRadio::Plugin.addMenu() 2006-11-22 10:19:36.8227 Plugins::XMRadio::Plugin.addMenu() 2006-11-22 10:19:36.8338 Plugins::XMRadio::Plugin.addMenu() 2006-11-22 10:19:36.8438 Plugins::XMRadio::Plugin.addMenu() 2006-11-22 10:19:36.8536 Plugins::XMRadio::Plugin.addMenu() 2006-11-22 10:19:36.8624 Plugins::XMRadio::Plugin.addMenu() 2006-11-22 10:19:36.8728 Plugins::XMRadio::Plugin.addMenu() 2006-11-22 10:19:36.8818 Plugins::XMRadio::Plugin.addMenu() 2006-11-22 10:19:36.8905 Plugins::XMRadio::Plugin.addMenu() 2006-11-22 10:19:36.8989 Plugins::XMRadio::Plugin.addMenu() This is still present after I have logged out from XM. -- atlslim atlslim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3054 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29867 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Hey Dan, Which version of SB are you trying to use this with? This plugin is known to work with SB2/3 and Trans; both of which support direct streaming of WMA. If you are using SLIMP/SB3/SoftSqueeze, the WMA stream needs to be transcoded into a format that can be handled by your client. This new version contains code which *may* support transcoding, but I have not tested this code. (Although, the code comes directly from the MMS protocol handler from 6.3/6.5, so it should work.) If this is the case, you will need to make sure you have a codec for WMA installed on your machine (e.g. mplayer on linux). I personally have had a hard time getting this setup on my server (hence the lack of testing), so you might want to search the forums for advice on getting this setup on a Mac. Hope that helps, JB -- Joe Bob Joe Bob's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7361 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29867 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
