When I first reported the issue I seemed to be getting log messages even when it wasn't working. In the last two experiments, I don't seem to get anything from those two plugins until they spring into life. Hmm, for some reason I can't see any log messages at all before 23:47,
didn't TitleSwitcher/MusicInfoSCR produce log messages also when it
didn't work ?
If so, could you try to repeat a test so we can get a log file which
contains both messages when it's not working and log messages when it's
working.
The following string in the log indicates that TitleSwitcher returns
something to MusicInfoSCR which should be shown:
Plugins::TitleSwitcher::Plugin::getTitleFormat (200) Returning
If there is a valid value in the end of this log message and it's still
not displayed on the screen it feels like something is wrong on the
MusicInfoSCR end and then we need to get Michael (developer of
MusicInfoSCR) into this thread to investigate the MusicInfoSCR part.

On playing a track just now, the TitleSwitcher display was broken again. I can confirm that simply switching to the Player -> Music Info screen in the web interface immediately fixes it though. I can't remember where the actual log file gets stored on the server, but I've attached a copy & paste of the last 2000 lines from the web link - hopefully that will be enough. I started playing at 2344 (broken) and switched to Player -> Music Info tab at 2347 (so this is the time it started working). If that's too vague I'm sure I can do the experiment again and try to get timings to the second. Would it be possible to attach the complete log file from a session
where it has worked and not worked and just specify the time stamp when
it stopped/started to work ?
If you zip it, it will probably not get too large.

Could you try the 1.2.3688 version of TitleSwitcher which I just
released, it contains some more debug messages and also a correction
where it ignores space characters at end of a formatting section (like
the one that caused problems for you).
Also remember that you need to configure the individual title formats
you use in SBS Settings/Interface, else you will get validation errors
when trying to save in Title Switcher settings page.

I'm wondering if something has changed since I entered those format lines (a long time ago), meaning something in them is now causing this sporadic problem. This is the main string that used to parse OK in TitleSwitcher but it now rejects (even though it still displays, albeit sporadically):* ALBUM:4 ,PLAYTIME / SONGTIME Track X_OF_Y ,ARTIST:4* After much trial and error I've managed to create an equivalent format that TitleSwitcher accepts: ALBUM:4 ,\" \"PLAYTIME / SONGTIME\" TRACK \"X_OF_Y\" \",ARTIST:4 The strange thing is, MusicInfoSCR (when selecting "live data preview") likes the first string (that TitleSwitcher rejects), but just shows a blank for the new one that TitleSwitcher likes! In fact, I can't get any TitleSwitcher strings to work at all in MusicInfoSCR now, other than the original one. I created this simple one called "ALBUM_ARTIST" as a test: ALBUM,ARTIST When I select it in MusicInfoSCR, it shows nothing in the live data preview, and the SB3 reverts to showing "Now Playing" in the top line. Pretty much as soon as I submitted the previous post it's broken again! Not sure if it relates to the "invalid format" errors. I can't see anything relevant in the log though.. Annoyingly it's been behaving itself tonight! Strangely, Titleswitcher doesn't seem to like my formats tonight. Thanks for your thoughts Erland. All my SB3's are wireless so I guess they could be losing connection, though my Kitchen one (the one I use most) is in the same room as the access point and generally shows a wireless strength of at least 90%. When I switched on the SB tonight it was behaving itself. Based on the log it kind of feels like the player might be temporarily
disconnected and that this isn't handled properly in the plugins so
they kind of lose context.
Is it possible to force it to stop working by saving TitleSwitcher
settings in the web interface ?
I'm asking because the "Reloading formats" message should only come
when a player previously being disconnected is connected again or when
you save TitleSwitcher settings.

I wonder if anyone can help me with an issue I've had for some time with TitleSwitcher on my SB3s. I have created a format called "TOPLINE" to rotate various track info and which is referenced in MusicInfoSCR as "TITLESWITCHERTOPLINE" for the top line of the display. This used to work perfectly, but recently it is hit and miss. Around 50% of the time I see the correct info rotated as defined in my TitleSwitcher format. The rest of the time though, I just see the string "TITLESWITCHERTOPLINE". It's as if MusicInfoSCR has forgotten to treat this as a special case. This isn't dependant on what is being played. Often I will play some music with the display working perfectly, and then later the same song selection will fail to display the info correctly. I've also known it to be in "stopped" mode wrongly displaying "TITLESWITCHERTOPLINE" for a period of time and then correct itself after a number of minutes / hours with no input from me. I'm on the latest release (7.6.1) on Windows (WHS), but this has been flaky for a few releases / months now. The same thing happens on all my SB3's.
