It basically works, but as bobertuk pointed out, randomly stops unless you set the MIP mix size to be quite large and will play a track again in a day or two despite having Trackstat and being configured not to repeat a track in 20 days. cparker, please post when you have a version of Sugarcube that you want tested against 7.6 , there's at least two of us willing to help. -- Wirrunna A camel is a racehorse designed by a committee. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Sugarcube - fallback to random track?
Thanks for the reply Charles, Changing the MusicMagic Server settings seems to have provided a temporary fix for me. I'll wait for the rewrite for random track fallback functionality with SQLite before going back to my old settings. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Sugarcube - fallback to random track?
Hi I see from your signature that you are using 7.6 which I believe uses sqlite now as the default db. SugarCube was built against mysql so the database query for a random track will fail. According to the changelog its possible to switch the db method that squeezebox is using back to mysql; http://svn.slimdevices.com/repos/slim/7.6/trunk/server/Changelog7.html # The default database is now SQLite. MySQL can still be used by selecting it on the Advanced -> Performance page. If you change it let me know if it fixes the problem. The Random side of the plugin is due a rewrite :) -- cparker www.spicefly.com - Spicefly SugarCube - Taking Squeezebox and MusicIP to the next level. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Sugarcube - fallback to random track?
Still no random fallback on my rig but I have discovered something else! When MIP passed its track recommendations along to Sugarcube, it was always limited to 10 recommendations. I always assumed this was part of Sugarcubes coding - but it appears not :-) Looking at Music Magic Server (WebUI on port 10002), the mix size was set to 10. Changing it to 30 (for example) and updating settings then presented 30 tracks to Sugarcube. Didn't sort out random track fallback but did prevent any further situation where Sugarcube ended up with zero tracks to choose from. Hope that's of help to others. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Sugarcube - fallback to random track?
Hi Charles, Good to see your site back up after the house move :-) Can't contact you via the Spicefly forum yet so thought I would try here. I'm running version 2.96 of sugarcube so can see the MIP/Sugarcube stats on the SbS WebUI. I've noticed that there should(?) be fallback to a random track if sugarcube runs out of other choices. Frequently my player (Touch) stops playing with the stats page showing 0 tracks on all items except 'MusicIP track recommendations' and 'Tracks not played before'. There is no fallback to a random track and I can't find a setting in sugarcube player config. Should fallback be working?
