TIA On my Mac, I created a script that bzip'd the 5MB, and then deleted any backup older than 7 days. (I don't use Trackstat anymore, so I no longer have the script) -- Tony T Tony #63743; SBTouch #9834; SBRadio #9836; Tony T's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34544 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92204 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat Backup Files?
So you always have a backup that's no more than 24 hours old. You can turn off the automatic backups and just make them manually, or just delete the older ones as they build up. Here's the wiki entry on Trackstat: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/TrackStat_plugin If you have other questions just post them in the forum. -- MeSue SUE 1 Touch | 2 Booms | 2 Radios | 1 Duet | 1 SB2 HP MediaSmart EX470 | Logitech Media Server 7.7.1 | iPod Touch iPad w/ iPeng Find me on 'Last.FM' (http://www.last.fm/user/MeSue) | 'Twitter' (http://twitter.com/suechastain) | 'Rhapsody' (http://www.rhapsody.com/members/mesue) -*Logitech! earthbased;675937 Wrote: Why does Trackstat create a backup file every day? Mine are about 5MB. I cannot find a user guide that describes how this plugin works so would like some help. TIA Because the database can sometimes be deleted by standard SBS code, especially during upgrades, or become corrupt if SBS or computer is shutdown in a middle of a database operation. If you don't have a backup when this happens, all your ratings and all your playback history would be lost. You can clean-up old backup files, I usually keep the files for the last month or so. In addition to the link in the previous post by MeSue, it might also be worth to look at the following page which describes the possibilities you have to setup rating support: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Setup_support_for_ratings -- erland Erland Isaksson ('My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info)) (Developer of 'many plugins/applets (both free and commercial)' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/User:Erland).
