cd /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins Don't mess with the "InstalledPlugins" folder, as it's managed by LMS. There should be another folder called just "Plugins" where you should install plugins manually. Check Settings/Information - there you'll find the various paths at the bottom. But no way. Yes, this one is not due to new version but it’s Sonos that claims to be compatible with ogg/vorbis but every time I’ve thrown such format to these, they refused to play. So go the the plugin’s settings but select the sonos speakers and in the codec line type « -ogg » so that ogg is removed from the supported codecs. Hi Philippe - i would prefer to stick to "non-destructive testing" ;) Just noting again that Spotty/Spotify do not seem to be working through UPnPBridge and Sonos -this is the case for both Bridge versions .10 and .11. I tried starting a Spotify album a couple of times with Sonos Arc/surrounds as the player and nothing happened, but Spotty/Spotify would play to a "real" squeezebox device, and would also play via the Bridge to a Naim QB2. Spotty version is 4.8.4 and LMS version is 8.3.0. This is of course with default settings in the bridge - is there a settings change that would be likely to make Sonos players work? The Sonos update might be the explanation as the issue would only happen if the volume is not broadcasted by the player upon connection. Here is the 2.1.12.11 log with same mp3 tracks. Seemingly normal volume behaviour this time - i tried increasing and decreasing the volume several times in the first 2 tracks in 5% increments in LMS/Material Skin, and the actual volume was consistent with those control changes. I stopped it in track 3. I had the Sonos app open on another device and it was interesting to note that each time when i would click a 5% up or down change in LMS, the volume slider in the Sonos app would leap to about 75% of full then snap back - ie like the app was still getting an errant volume signal, even though the actual volume was staying normal. +---+ |Filename: upnpbridge log 2.1.12.11 mp3.txt | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=39575| +---+ Spacegrass's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68163 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103728 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Same mp3 tracks as the last few logs - no skips, but continuing LMS/Sonos volume problems. In the first track, the 5% increment in LMS Material skin changed the actual volume a lot more than 5%. It seemed like the volume was increasing and decreasing on its own in track 1, though the LMS volume setting stayed the same. Then nearly at the end of track 2, the sound went silent while the volume slider stayed at 15% and the track kept playing - sound would come back on if changed to 20%, go silent if reduced to 15%, then more fluctuations in track 3 - this behaviour should be noticeable in the log at the end of track 2 and beginning of track 3. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
I've had LMS (currently 8.2.0) running on CentOS 7 for a number of years, but recently decided to try to integrate my Sonos speakers with LMS using squeeze2upnp (squeeze2upnp-x86-64-static) after replacing my original Logitech squeezebox renderer with a Raspberry Pi (which also works well). The problem is the required firewall settings for squeeze2upnp and UPNP/DLNA operation. Turn the firewall off, and everything works well (much better than using Sonos application). Hi Philippe I attach a log from 2.1.12.6 trial (Win 10 i7 laptop - all UpNP Bridge settings at default other than binary set to static.) Same mp3 tracks as the last few logs - no skips, but some unruly LMS/Sonos volume behaviour in the first track - it started super loud, and the 5% increments in LMS Material skin seemed to change the actual volume about 50%. It seemed like the volume was increasing and decreasing on its own in track 1, though the LMS volume setting stayed the same. Then nearly at the end of track 1, the volume slider changed on its own from 14% to 9% and the volume went to zero - ie at 14% sound was almost painfully loud, and at 9% it was silent. Volume behaviour seemed more normal in tracks 2 and 3 (though still louder than usual for the LMS volume setting) and i stopped it in track 4. This is a hazard at this time of year - unexpectedly loud volume could cause a guy to spill his eggnog ;) +---+ |Filename: upnpbridge log 2.1.12.6 mp3 volume issue.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=39543| +---+ Spacegrass's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68163 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103728 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Better to go into the plugin section in Material, then all updated plugins will be shown at the top and you can choose which one to update (if there are more than one). Or use the Settings window in the default skin. FWIW, I've ended up with 2.1.1 of uPnP, and it seems to be working fairly well here. It's hard for me to go to the dev version to help with testing as I have "non technical users" to deal with. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Hi Philippe I have (belatedly) moved my reporting to this UPnP Bridge-specific thread. I did not get a chance to try 2.1.11 I attach a log from 2.1.12 (Win 10 i7 laptop - all UpNP Bridge settings at default other than binary set to static.) Log starts with same ol mp3 tracks played ok, but skips at about three quarters through track 3, and also track 4, and I stopped it in track 5. (just like several previous versions.) Next in the log is a flac album (Star 69) which appeared to play with no issues through 6 tracks and I stopped it in track 7. The next entry in the log is Radio Paradise playing in flac mode for about 10 minutes also no problems. +---+ |Filename: upnpbridge log 2.1.12 mp3 flac RP.zip| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=39408| +---+ Spacegrass's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68163 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103728 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Being totally without knowledge about these things, is there any possibility that the two other UPnP-related plugins interfere? The users that have trouble now should maybe uninstall them if they are installed and see if things improve. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Hi, I'm using the bridge on a QNAP TS-231P, information on LMS shows platform architecture as armv7l-linux. Bridge version is 2.1.11 Which binary is better to use? I have a selection of arm and armv6, both static and not static. But the armv6 doesn't seem to work, so I guess the real question is arm static or non static better. But I think with both of them some of the tracks skip in the middle of playback. This is kind of random I guess. Maybe someone has some advice on what I could do to improve uninterrupted playback? I use the bridge with a Yamaha WXAD-10 streamer. Attaching an excerpt of the log with a skipped track and my configuration file. Please excuse me and let me know if some additional logging options enabled in the bridge settings would help to better see the problem, I may enable them and provide a better log if I notice a track skipping. This has happened for several tracks in an hour. But when you put this warning to the logs i think you know the concequences what is coming toward us. A reminder or warning would be nice, but you don't have to do this, i understand you too. Hi there, I'm also having playback problems. With the release 2.1.8 playback was stable. However now with the latest release I'm having track-skipping problems. The track starts to play and after a while, it skips and the next song starts playing. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Hmmm.. I've alo posted this on the Chromecast Bridge forum. Oh and I was trying to update this plugin as Phillipe was uploading 2.1.8 to github. That gave some confusing results. Anyway. An suggestionms what I might try next woulod be very appreciated. LMS: Version: 8.3.0 - 1667251155 Hosted on dedicated Win 10 pro server (64 bit) MSV C++ 2022 installed. All firewalls, security and av disabled I uninstalled the old versions of the two plugins (via LMS), deleting prefs and configs. Then installed new versions (via LMS). Now have: Chromecast Bridge: 2.1.6 UPnP Bridge: 2.1.8 Issues same as all recent versions of both plugins. Starts and then stops and will not generate config files. I have no idea what to do now. :-( Take care of your tongue. It is in a wet place and can easily slip. Lounge: Naim NDX with Touch as controller, Naim NAP 180, NAC 82, NAPSC, HiCap, Shahinian Arc speakers Kitchen/outside: Chromecast audio, Azatom iBigBoy 2 (500W) And... SB+, radios & tons of Chromecasts... all run from LMS and controlled via Material Skin on any nearby device and a couple of Touchs. This appears to be a local networking problem not directly related to the particular plugin. If pCP cannot resolve host names then not much will work outside of your LAN. Perhaps a reboot will cure it.
