Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Music Source PlugIn?

2020-08-21 Thread bzlrbi

I'm very glad this came up! I've been having problems with both
CDPlayer and Wave Input plugins, which I can't solve. This does the
trick (mostly). I'm gathering it's an mp3 stream which isn't ideal, but
it gives me the option to stream across my system.

Sounds wonderful! No, you don't need to refresh the URL. Over the last
few years, I only had to change when I changed laptops, and new one had
a different reserved IP address.

As predicted, it was hopeless with Zoom! BTW, do you ever have to
refresh that saved URL, or does the first one you created just keep
working? I'm wondering if it's a little like my saved BBC Radio
favorites, that occasionally need updating from the plugin.

My wife was lucky enough to get transferred from New York to Paris for
the last 2 years of her career, and we decided to retire here (at least
for a while), as we'd long had a holiday home down in the south.
With the pandemic, of course we're now more or less stuck here. No
complaining though - I'm supping my morning coffee looking over the
golden dome of Les Invalides and the Eiffel Tower!

Yes - even on the try-out I did a few minutes ago, the lag between the
(very decent quality) audio coming via LMS>Touch>SoundSystem and my PC
(if I un-muted) was very noticeable after no time at all. Anyway, it's

I wonder whether it would work pushing the audio of a Zoom conference to
my main audio, via LMS>Touch? I'll give it a try on my next call -
would be quite handy, as the new laptop has rather quiet speakers, even

If you install the plugin "Remote Music Libraries", all instances of LMS
running on your network will appear under "Music Source", makes it easy
to switch between LMS instances.

google "stream what you hear" and install this on your PC. Then run
this program and create a URL from within options in "SWYH". Save this
URL as a "favorite" within LMS. Then, with SWYH running, sound turned to
"off" on your PC, and playing the favorite on your LMS, you'll hear what
