Hi Michael, I have found a way to consistently break the MusicInfoScrn to result in the overlay-text behavior described earlier. With the player stopped and screensaver on, if I use SBS to clear the current playlist, the display will be garbled/have overlay text. I did a SBS reboot, and updated to the latest nightly. Upon it coming back up, all displays looked OK. So, I guess it is truly random in nature. MusicInfoScrn is broken again for SB3. I did a server reset and got this again: Unfortunately this seems to be some odd timing issue I can't reproduce. I've seen it a few times, but can't reproduce it reliably. Your new fix lets MIS know the Squeezeboxes are Off and gives them the
appropriate screensaver?
No, if the device is powered off and there's no track in the queue, SBS
formatting code will return nothing (''). The plugin now works around this
by calling some select formats directly in this particular case.

Michael, One more bug, I think. For the Transporter, I can never get anything to display in the second screen, while OFF. For example, if I select CURRTIME for both first and second displays, it only shows on the left display. When the device is ON, I can use and configure the Second (right) display like normal. Michael, I'm running the nightly from yesterday.. not the newest one available right this minute, but the previous night. Don't recall the R number as I'm not at home now. Is there anything I can do to reset the plugin? If you update your MIS plugin, maybe my SBS will grab the newest one, even though it's the same as what I manually installed? My Transporter is running firmware 85. I would be happy if you could test it before I release it. Please uninstall your currently installed version of MIS, download http://www.herger.net/_data/MusicInfoSCR-4.4.8.zip and unzip it into your SBS' Plugins folder. Background: the formatting methods in SBS only work if a track object is defined. Even simple stuff like CURRTIME. Michael, Yes, I use MIS in power off mode. In fact, after a scan is run, the Squeezeboxes shut down, and this is the time I see the display error. I'm running the nightly 7.6 from a few days ago, although this behavior has occured pre 7.5. Michael, I believe you fixed it! I installed the updated plugin, then did a rescan. This doesn't always trigger the problem, so I did an install of the latest nightly build. I do believe this would always cause the failure. Latest nightly installed and no problems with the displays. Can you elaborate a bit more on the fix? When the error occurred, it was after a reboot/reinstall of SBS, so instead of the devices showing the MIS Power Off screensaver, they just had the Now Playing/Nothing display. I normally have PLAYTIME_ALWAYS in the top right of my SB3. Now, it is broken as shown in the picture below. The number after _MIS_CUSTOM_ is the player's MAC address. Can you check in your various players' settings whether this is always lower case? It's like the MusicInfoScrn screensaver of Nothing is on top of the normal SBS screen saver of Nothing/Nothing, so it's just a big jumbled mess. Since this happens on a Classic, Transporter and Boom, I know it's not just a glitch in the player. Please try to configure all those positions where the Nothing would show up. I'm not sure I understand. Under Player-Display, my font is light and Standby font is Standard. I guess I don't know where Custom Font is.
