Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Pandora IP Restriction Error

2019-06-14 Thread mjb2016

Bumping this thread just to add a relevant reply...

"Client restricted due to licensing restrictions (are you not in the
US?)"

I get this error sometimes if I have not used Pandora in a while. I
managed to get it to go away by accessing Pandora briefly from another
client, e.g. a web browser. This apparently causes Pandora to whitelist
my IP, and then LMS can use Pandora again.

The two systems are entirely physically separate (I live in both places
and move regularly between the two), though I do use the same
MySB.com account from both locations. In France I have occasionally
managed to run Pandora via a VPN giving me a US IP. But here in the US,
I'm just using the DNS from my ISP (I have a VPN available here, but
don't often use it).

I did wonder whether using my original Pandora account via the French
VPN had somehow got me blocked by Pandora account when I returned to the
US (though Pandora tech support said "no" to that possibility. But, as
noted above, today I've actually opened a whole new Pandora account,
which works in every way *except* via LMS.

I'm scratching my head to think of any system changes Imight have made
just before this error suddenly appeared. The only one I can think of
is that - in the US system - I gave the Touch a fixed local IP. But
that can't matter. And in any case the Controller still gets a
refreshed DCHP address, and that has the same problem with LMS-Pandora.

Most odd.

Please run "traceroute www.mysqueezebox.com" or similar, or at least
"ping www.mysqueezebox.com" to get an idea which datacenter you're hitting.

USA:

So you have two routers in two places. Did you move your USA router from
France? Are DNS servers configured there or are you automatically using
those received from your ISP?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Pandora IP Restriction Error

2015-12-07 Thread agbagb

Hm

So, I deleted my original free Pandora account and opened a wholly new
one. I can play that via PC, phone and pad.

I activated the new account in LMS / MySB.com. If I connect either the
Touch or Controller to MySB.com I can play all Pandora channels.
However, if I connect the payers to LMS and try either the Pandora app
or saved Pandora Favorites, I get that "Client restricted" error
message.

So, there's something in my LMS that Pandora doesn't like. Can't figure
this out at all.

Stranger and stranger

So, what I did was to delete my Pandora account from MySB.com, and then
re-enter it. Pandora then asks for Username and Password. When I enter
these I get an error message telling me I can't log in to Pandora as I'm
not in the USA.. So now I tried changing the country setting to UK,
just to see if I could "unstick" a setting. I get a message telling me
I'm now registering MySB in a country other than where my IP is located
(New York, USA!). The Pandora app now vanishes from my Apps list. I
put the country setting back to USA and save that: Pandora reappears in
the list, but I still can't log into it as it still thinks I'm outside
the USA..

A couple of things. The "Pandora via LMS" 'client restricted' error
shows up on the Touch, on the Controller and on the LMS interface. If I
connect either or both players to MySB and try Pandora (either the App
or saved channels) I now get a log-in error. But at one and the
same time, from the same IP here in NYC, I can access and run Pandora on
my PC directly, and on my phone and pad. So there's no inherent problem
with my IP or with my Pandora account details.

H - is MySB.com running somehow through a proxy server outside the
USA?

Anyway, next step is to create a wholly new free Pandora account and to
try and get that to run on LMS / MySB. Hey, you never know.

not sure if there is a location in LMS to enter country. But re:

pandora. There is a place there to enter userID and password for
Pandora. And while at that location, click on player tab and make sure

Yes - I'd already done that in MySB.com. I don't see a Country setting
in LMS Settings themselves though - is there one buried somewhere?

And, BTW, where in LMS / MySB.com do I enter my Pandora account

Is there a setting in LMS somewhere that tells LMS your country? I'm not
in front of my system to check, but I've seen mention of this.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Pandora IP Restriction Error

Nobody else getting this problem? Pandora tech support originally told
me that this was a VPN issue, but in fact I was not using a VPN at all,
just my regular New York ISP's IP. Pandora eventually told me they had
unblocked this IP - but I still have (most of the problem).

When I first reported, none of my devices could access Pandora. Now, I
am able to access it on my phone and pad, via the Pandora apps. But via
LMS or MySB.com - not at all. Pandora tech support seem to have run out
of ideas. I have tried access via my VPN too, using a US IP. But I just
get the same "restricted" error.

I'll try uninstalling and re-installing the LMS Pandora app, but this is
most mysterious.
